Disenchanted Movie Description:
Years after her happily ever after, Giselle, Robert and Morgan move to a new community and Andalasia and the real world are thrown off-balance.
Disenchanted is a 2022 American musical fantasy film directed by Adam Shankman and written by Brigitte Hales, based on a story by Richard LaGravenese and the writing team of J. David Stem and David N. Weiss. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures in association with Josephson Entertainment and Right Coast Productions, it is the sequel to the 2007 film Enchanted. Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Idina Menzel reprise their roles from the first film, with Gabriella Baldacchino replacing Rachel Covey (who makes a cameo as a different character). They are joined by newcomers Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jayma Mays, Kolton Stewart, Oscar Nunez, and Griffin Newman. Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz return as the film's songwriters, while Menken also composed the score, and Adams serves as a producer alongside Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld.
Talks of an Enchanted sequel began in early-2010, but the project languished in development hell for several years. By 2017 it was announced Adams had signed on to reprise her role and filming was set to begin that summer, but it never came to fruition. The film was officially announced in December 2020, with the cast joining in spring 2021 and filming taking place in Ireland between May and July that year.
Disenchanted premiered at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles on November 16, 2022, and was released in the United States via Disney+ on November 18. The film received mixed reviews from critics.

Love Power
Perfect
Even More Enchanted
Love power because of Idina Menzel vocals the others songs where dry
Next time
Badder
You didn't get the point. It was to show she was the mom without blood relationship. That's why she saved her mom.
As an adoptee, the fact that she could use the magic without being blood related to Giselle is the whole point! Giselle *is* her mother, in every single way that matters.
The moment she said stepmother everything started going downhill
@@tree6787 👍🏻so true 😂😭
I was disappointed when he misses the point. It is surely doesn’t surpass the first movie but it’s also not that bad and if people will just take their time in understanding, they’ll get some of the points here because this is literally disney mocking princess movies *again* just like the first one
I did really like this movie cuz I don't think Disney has done a movie where the villain dynamic was new and I really liked it
I wish that instead of everything being okay after Giselle tore the memory tree, they had actually progressed Giselle further into a villain. And the thing that would bring her back would be Morgan calling her mom again, like begging for her mom back
I think you might have something there. Like I enjoyed the film but I do think it would've been way more impactful if Morgan spoke the memories out loud, ending by calling Sophia her sister and Giselle her mom. Maybe Giselle is still too far gone but has small moments of lucidity (because she was also a part of the memories) and in one of those moments throws the wand to Morgan. Morgan makes the wish, certain that it will work because she is Giselle's daughter in all the ways that matter. Everything after that is the same
Thisssss
Yes it would have been better, but I feel like it's such a common Disney trope tho
Personally I didn't enjoy that much this sequel cause I didn't feel the magic of the first one .BUT Amy Adams nailed as a Villian and she always going to be a princess for me . The actress that plays Morgan in this movie it's different , the girl that play Morgan at the first movie did a cameo and talk to Gisele about the ball. Eager to see your reaction!!!💛💚
Nice
Morgan was able to use the wand because of the love power. The most powerful magic in fairytale stories
This movie kinda went all over the place. I like some of the songs, but overall this was just okay. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it like I did the first movie.
It was good!! The first one is definitely better but I really enjoyed this one. Beautiful set work and costumes and the ACTING. Amy Adams went OFF and Maya Rudolph was having WAY too much fun.
The first one has a charm because it's not taking itself too seriously, there is a much stronger sense of whimsy because the idea of what's happening is so unusual. Now here we have established characters doing unusual things that we now expect them to do, so the real treat for this one was Morgan getting to be an important character. And Idina Menzel singing finally lol
Indinas song literally makes me cry every time! Idk it just hits my heartstrings lol the power and emotion in her vocals man
9:25 this scene pissed me off because she literally called Giselle her mom in the scene where they showed her room
I sometimes really do feel like my family and I were the only ones who actually did enjoy this movie 😅
Ditto
Your not alone. My family and I enjoyed this film.
The music and dance scenes was good and so was the singing.
I truly enjoyed the duet between Mya Rudolph and Amy Adams.
There was some good acting but some of the younger actors wasn't exactly award winning on some scenes.
It's obviously hard to beat the first one but this sequel was a pleasant surpise and I enjoyed it.
But some reactors are such critics and hard to please.
So much so I wonder why they even bother reacting to these movies because all I hear from a few reactors is criticism and complaining and not enough appreciation.
I mean what more do they want?
It's almost ridiculous how hard they are to please.
It makes me wonder how they react to people on a general day to day bases. I personally would not want to keep close company with someone like that on a daily basis.
Too much complaining for me.
I cannot stand pouting and complaining.
It's annoying.
But atleast some of us can show support and appreciation.
I highly doubt some of us could get on stage and do half as good of a job as some of these actors and singers.
I loved it haha.. you’re not alone.
Don’t worry my family also loved this movie however I do see some flaws but it’s still fun 🎉
I enjoyed it!
The nice thing about this movie is that, unfortunately COVID put a lot of Broadway performers out of work, so Disney was able to hire a lot of top notch Broadway talent.
25:30 we love the constant consistent Idina Menzel praiseeeee
I have too admit the first one is better, but this movie oh this movie just made my heart happy and it’s nice too see a real Disney villain song again and boy does Badder go hard
I loved it. Here are reasons why I loved Disenchanted (no order btw)
1. The 2D animation is gorgeous
2. All the original cast is back (except Susan and Timothy).
3. The story between Morgan and Giselle was so authentic and emotional.
4. The set design in Ireland was so good.
5. Love most of the songs(even though they are forgettable). My favourite songs are Love Power,Even More Enchanted and Perfect.
6. Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey are great as always.
Cons
1. Not enough James Marsden
2. We barely see Patrick Dempsey as a lawyer this time(then again the sequel wasn't really based on him or James Marsden this time).
3. The pacing is so quick.
4. Some of the CGI is bad and felt like something straight from DVD.
5. Hate to say this but it was trying too hard.
Overall I still loved this film and gave it a 4 out of 5 stars and 8 out of 10.
The Patrick thing, I think it's because father's are usually dead in fairytales. And also because of what happened behind the scenes of grey's anatomy some controversy with him and some of the women, and with modern day writer's they're always pushing women to the forefront so it makes sense why Patrick would be in the background, I wanted more Edward
@@GameOn71213 What's with Patrick Dempsey's affair with an intern have anything to do with Disenchanted though. Then again fathers die in fairytales so your right about that one.
@@Disney65Fan I wanted more Edward he was so funny I hope we get a movie, with Edward and his queen and their life
@@GameOn71213 I'm smelling a TV series made exclusively for Disney ➕
Fair points. Agreed 🪄
“You Just Have To REMEMBER These Moments, Because You’re A PART Of ‘Them’.” - Nancy Tremaine (Idina Menzel)
Me and Bianca just watched it finally an hour ago. Was it the first one to us? Not at all but it was enjoyable. Keeping all the cast is something not all movies do with sequels but they did after all these years which is a plus in my book 🙏🏼
Also bro, girl with blonde hair was in “epic movie” and she was pretty slow in that lmao idk if that’s the movie you were thinking of
She is best known for being on Glee.
Also smurfs
Loved this. It's not perfect but def a worthy sequel. My fav song was "Love Power", but I really love "Badder". I'd say my fav thing about Morgan is they didn't make her resent the baby for taking up the parent's time, instead she seeks comfort from her.
20:35 The peacock gives me vibes of Hera (Greek goddess of evil stepmothers).
Same. Probably intentional.
ngl this was a pretty good sequel. pls react to brandy’s cinderella . this gave me a little bit of roger and hammerstein vibes .
I thought it was just me!
Amy Adams did well transforming into her Queens 👸🏽 Evilness ❤️🔥 quoted Wicked Good! As well loved it. When the clock striked
The town already felt too cartoony, when the real world is supposed to be grounded and realistic. It would have been great dynamics between Morgan and Giselle to show that teenagers outgrow the Disney and fairytales, and that Giselle needs to adapt to what teenagers want. It would have been more realistic.
Fact: before Elsa and Nancy, Idena Menzel was also in the original cast of the Broadway stage musical wicked as the wicked witch of the west.
Im glad he realizes idina's menzal stunning voice because the lady has pipes.
When I hear "Disenchanted," I think of the Matt Groening animated series "Disenchantment" (2018-), that I've only heard of, running on Netflix. This movie reminds me of along forgotten TV series "The Charmings" (1987-1988).
For me, the movie wasn’t really necessary but it was definitely a good time and I would watch it again.
I also miss the art nouveau that influenced the art and costumes in the first movie, here it felt like generic fairy tale costume designs
I thought this movie was alright overall but that one song "badder" where Amy Adams and Maya Ruldolph are singing is the highlight for me
Same
I like the fact that their exes genuinely nice people
Snow White, the first animated movie came out in 1937, and it took them 12 years to make. It is truly amazing. The water in the river looks real, along with everything else
I feel like Patrick Dempsey could’ve not even been in the movie at all and it wouldn’t have made any difference. It’s like he was there only because he was in the first one. Idk if he barely wanted to be in the movie or what lol.
More Edward would have been good
Haha!! Hilarious,Love this reaction
This was a great movie 🎬
Definitely one of my favorite reactions by far answering to your question "which one is my favorite the first one or second" to be honest the first one is wonderful but the second one is appsolotely perfect it's so "magical" and emotional and the fact that its all disney movies combined is great 👍🏻 thanks for this nice video 💖 I had a great time watching it!! 💕🖤
The third movie: ✨re-enchanted✨
LOL judging by the title I really thought you were about to trash this movie. 😅 I was afraid to watch cause I really liked it haha. But yeah I get the ending is kinda messy, but I really had fun with the movie overall 🙂.
I loved this movie!!❤
Your shirt is Fire! I love it. ❤️🔥
I prefer the first movie, but I think I would have prefered this one if it was a bit more focused in its plot. I was really hyped by the trailer cause the idea that Gisele became the villain cause she's a stepmother is so cool. So I was disappointed when I saw that this part almost disappeared at some point to become about the fight between Gisele and the queen... which I wouldn't have minded if it was more linked to the rest. Like, for instance, use the romance between Morgan and that guy to build conflict between their mothers as they hate each other (which would make this part of the story useful by the way) : maybe the mothers could have tried to stop the romance while fighting for power. That would have been a way to glue all the part of the story together.
Also give something to do to that poor Robert. It was so clear they had no clue what they were doing with him lol.
It was still a good movie. But it was more focused on the songs and the fun and the references than the actual plot. It was great, but not as awesome as the first one
See that's what I was thinking literally after watching twice, to love as well. I really appreciated just the first one satisfying enough 🥰 o well
actually disenchanted is where Gabriella had her first major role (the girl who played Morgan), she’s been in other things before but this is her first major role so that might be why you found her acting a little stale
The girl who played Morgan isn’t named Gabriella her name is Rachel 😂
@@audramcdonaldapologist3676 no that’s not her name. the actor isnt the same one from the first movie. rachel was in the movie but she really only had one line she was the one that reminded giselle that there was a festival, “the festival, mi’lady ?” Gabriella is the one who played Morgan in this movie, rachel didn’t play her in this movie she only played her in the first one
In my opinion disenchanted is good but not great in comparison to the first movie of Disney's enchanted and I wish this sequel could've been better.
I don't know how it could've been better...it referenced the first movie alot I suppose for context (and to aid people who hadn't had the pleasure of seeing the first movie) but as sequels go, it wasn't totally awful. Alot of talented people were involved so I give them that plus, it was nice to see Idina Menzel actually signing instead of being hidden behind a cartoon aka Elsa. What a wonderfully powerful voice 🥰
@@dunbardunelm3924 I agree, even I have seen a few clips of Disney's frozen and listen to a few songs when she played the role of the wicked witch of the west in the original stage musical of wicked yes she does.
Fact: Originally Idena Menzel was supposed to sing in the first movie but it didn't happen, so I'm glad they decided to add that in the sequel.
1st movie always but this was really fun and long waited for. Amy did great!!!
25:26 Yep, I agree. Gotta clap after that: *sustained applause*
Going to Renaissance Faires is the most fun you'll ever have, trust me 😀
I absolutely hated the story of the movie. The actors were brilliant just like in the first movie. I especially loved the way Gisele jumped back and forth between her good and evil self. But there was just something lacking in the writing and the story for me.
Yeah that's it. I won't say I hated it but I thibk they got lost at some point.
If I were them, I would have exploited the romance between Morgan and this guy to increase the conflict between their mothers, maybe have them trying to stop the romance while fighting each other for power. It would have connected all parts of the movie together because for me, this is what the movie lack : links between the evil stepmother part and the battle between Gisele and the queen.
Only thing that I don't know how to fix is that poor Robert.
I think this one can stand on its own
my fav song from this was the villian song ofc!!! which was Badder
Same
I don’t know if you take suggestions but PLEASE DO A CRAZY STUPID LOVE REACTION it’s such a funny movie
Mellverse I like this movie like your channel big fan hugs
I want that fancy jumper
Honestly they made this film for idina to sing let’s be honest the story didn’t interest me much but I like concept of Giselle being evil 👿 6.5/10
Also no one is talking about where Nathaniel is?
Busy writing his next best-seller in between self-improvement workshops.
Bro I love these Dresses and That Song that girl Sing This was Funny 🤣🤣🤣💜❤️💜
Yo what is this outro music? I love it! I can't get it out of my head!
LC Powell even dubbed Amy Adams in a few scenes(why I have no idea maybe Amy couldn't reach some of the chords).
I’m pretty sure it’d be called ReEnchanted if they were to make a third one
Put money on it 😂🤣🥰
I haven’t seen this yet so I have to come back 😅❤😂
I also didn't get Morgans personality change like there's no explanation of why she is now disillusioned with magic and dreams, there's always a reason that isn't plain being a teenager
There's some sass to come so enjoy
I'm calling it!!!! Next movie's gonna be called re-enchanted
This was a sequel to a movie with not much knew story to tell after the first so that causes some skepticism, but if you don't compare it to the first ,its fine you can have fun with it lol
I loved the first one. This one was good but didnt have the magic of the first..
when I attended the Bridgeton experience you could dance with the pros on the ballroom floor to the soundtrack played by real musicians just sayin
Go to the Labyrinth ball. It is amazing.
I never even knew this existed 😳
Be kind rewind from 2007 starling jack black
Yes, that is Amy Adams 's voice
The girl who plays Morgan is the same girl from the original, except grown up
Really??
I really liked it, although tbh I did fall asleep during the 3rd Act so your points all make sense. Agree about the acting performances. Patrick Dempsey bless his heart is not a comedic actor. The first was overall better but I liked Amy Adams more in this one.
I kind of hate how Giselle didn’t change even a little bit, I get it if it was like a year after the events of Enchanted took place but it’s been at least 10 years in this universe and she still doesn’t understand that she can’t sing in public or what sarcasm is?
My mom didn't like it and that's really saying something bc she generally enjoys movies where most ppl hate or don't like it.
33:41 Reenchanted 😂
I like this one way better
This movie was just WandaVision for fairy tales
Mell should react to The Chucky series
You should try reaction of Golden Compass (2007) next one
Yes
No, the Golden Child 🤩😍🥰🤣
“Moving’s tough for a kid…WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS GIRL?!” You just answered your own question.
She was acting like that before the move...
True. Granted moving clearly made her behavior much worse.
you know, teenage-ing
i think your thinking of that blonde in the movie ......epic movie she had the same dingy blonde characteristics
In scared of butterflies
Can you pls react to Earth to Echo
Can you react to moulin rouge and Elvis
*PLEEEASEEEE FOR THE LIFE OF ME REACT TO TIM BURTON’S NEW NETFLIX SERIES “WEDNESDAY” 🖤🥰*
I prefer the second one - Disenchanted.
I am so glad they revisited this franchise and I do hope there is a third
Listen any excuse to watch maya rudolph and hear idina menzel sing ill take it
This is set ten years after the original, not 15, or Morgan would be in college. And I wish they'd gotten the original actress to play Morgan again. They also had a different voice actor for Pip.
It had its moments and I liked seeing the cast again, and Amy playing the wicked stepmom was fun, but the songs weren't nearly as good and overall, yeah, it was good but not great. And Idina got to sing.
I did like the message that family is what you make it and that found family can be as true and fulfilling as a born family.
that is the same actress for Morgan. Pip was different because the actor that played him died in real life .
@@renatafnedab3003 It's not the same actress. Check IMDB.
I loved the fact that the Sopranos FBI guy (Matt Servitto) lol was called back as a construction engineer(?) at the beginning - It was a nice touch and tbh, my favourite bit 😂🤣😂
Movie stinks, but your sweater is everything!
Ummmm EXCUSE ME....
Where was the opening?!?
MELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
Anyway, let me watch this video. Just know....I will lose sleep over this...lmao
Ps
I really loved this movie. I also did tear up when Giselle died..lol that had me in my feelings.🤣
@@samanthaamador7998 Wow, I clearly wasn't paying attention properly and I only watched the movie yesterday 😂🤣. I swear it ended with her signing a happy song 😬😬🤔
Ngl I skipped through most of songs. This was rough to watch. Maybe I just wasn’t in the mind space?
hated this movie
i tried to watch Disenchanted a few days ago, but was really disappointed in it, and i couldn't even finish it. i had to cleanse my palette, so to speak, so i re-watched Enchanted instead. the difference is night and day. i just didn't feel any heart coming from this sequel...not surprised, though, since Disney seems to have lost their mojo as well as all their talent and creativity.
