Lmaoo everyone falls for it, I did it to my bf he had never seen it before 😂 and I like how the animation lasts a while in the beginning so they start believing it lol.
I love how the movie incorporates all different parts of the Disney Princess movies. Also, Jodi Benson (Robert’s office secretary) is Ariel from Little Mermaid.
For movies that mix animated and live-action, I’d recommend Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Who Framed Roger Rabbit actually has the only scene in all of cinema history where Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse are onscreen at the same time :)
Tangled was still in development when this movie aired, so the Rapunzel play you see in That's How You Know is a nod to that. And the little girl is the director's daughter, I believe.
The woman from the building said "You're too late" meaning that she must be waiting for her prince charming for a long time, but gave up and now has a bunch of kids with probably some meh guy... it's a joke
oh, sweet summer child, thinking there is only 14 seasons of Grey's Anatomy LOL you guys should watch an 80's movie with Patrick Dempsey called "Can't Buy Me Love"
Fun facts : Robert's co worker is the voice of the little mermaid, Also Giselle was supposed to be an official Disney princess but the producers didn't want to pay Amy Adams More Money
@@practicaldreamyr And the woman on the TV that Nathaniel was watching. The one talking about liking yourself is the voice of Belle from “Beauty and the Beast”.
There are tons of easter eggs and references in this movie. My personal favorites are the cameos - the receptionist at Robert's law firm is Jodi Benson who voiced Ariel in the Little Mermaid. The woman in the soap opera Nathaniel and Edward watch is Paige O'Hara who voices Belle in Beauty and the Beast. And the woman with all the kids that tells Edward he's "too late" to be her Prince Charming is Judy Kuhn who did the singing voice for Pocahontas.
Fun fact when edward tries to sing with Giselle in the apartment he sings "somewhere there's a miad I've never met. " instead of what he said earlier in the movie "you're the fairest Maid I ever met" implying that giselle is not his true love anymore.
one of the things i love about this movie is that edward and nancy arent bad people.. like theyre not angry and spiteful.. they just want them to be happy
Nancy's last name is Tremaine, in reference to the evil stepmother from Cinderella. This gets even better when you remember she WAS the stepmother in Camille's Cinderella
She brings magic into the real world (hence the cleaning animals and big dance numbers) and her magic fades and she becomes more realistic as she spends time with Robert (which is why she gets angry and can’t finish the duet anymore with the prince). While Robert becomes more magical and less of a realist as he spends time with Giselle (he sings and saves her). That’s why they match so well!
The telenovela has a bunch of references in one: The female soap star “Angela” (so named for Angela Lansbury, who voiced Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast) is played by Paige O’Hara, the voice of Belle. “Angela” is arguing with a man named “Jerry” (Jerry Orbach voiced Lumiere) because she’s having an affair with a man named “Ogden” (David Ogden Stiers voiced Cogsworth). This soap opera scene is scored with music from Beauty and the Beast.
These types of Disney movies are so fun to watch I just feel like you can’t recreate these nowadays. I love the tone of them and Amy Adams is just brilliant in this as she is in everything such a talent loved the reaction
There's so many Easter eggs in this movie. Almost every character you see on screen has been part of a Disney movie - the old men dancers in the park played chimney sweeps in Mary Poppins. Robert's secretary was the voice of Ariel, Nancy was Elsa in Frozen (you guys got that one). A lot of the people in the apartment complex while Edward was looking for Giselle are Disney alumni too. Another thing I love about this movie is it really highlights the underrated talent of James Marsden. He was the perfect choice for Edward and a lot of the little personality things he added to the character weren't in the script, he added them himself. He and Amy Adams were so great in this movie - and perfect singing voices for a film like this.

Took me years to figure this out, but the prince statue Giselle makes in the beginning is of Robert: blue suit jacket (the one he wears at the ball), dark hair, blue eyes, no smile
The final, lightning-struck battle is a homage to the battles in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast.
6:53 adding "jennifer crayton" to the list of completely nonexistent celebrities zuff confuses with real actors. throwback to "peter daiquiri taylor" aka neil patrick harris in gone girl
I feel like it is ok for him to date someone for five years because he has a young daughter and him and Nancy are very career oriented people. With a lot going on it makes sense he would wait to see how things go and then propose now
I loved Enchanted from the first time I saw it. I though Amy Adams performance as a Cartoon character in the real world; was top notch, she was totally believable. It's what makes this movie works; is how her and Marsden performances are spot on. The whole cast in this movie was wonderful; don't get me wrong, I thought everyone was perfect Susan Sarandon was amazing, Timothy Spall as Nathaniel was perfect, and I loved the happy endings for all of them. Happy Working Song, and How Does Her Know You Love Her, were perfect Disney musical numbers. Side Note; When James Marsden jumped from the over bridge onto the path below, the bikers was not planned. James got ran over by accident. However; he felt it made he scene better, and requested they leave it in. So yeah; he really got ran over by those bikers, no stunt double. Talk about taking one for the team!
"The Pagemaster" from 1994 is also a combination of animation and live action. It's a much overlooked movie, but it's really charming. Great for book-lovers!
in another universe zuff is definitely a country singer 😭😭 but no, i remember watching this movie for the first time as a child and being so amazed at how the movie was both animated & live action at the same time. such nostalgia!!
Everyone is talking about how Robert's secretary is Jodi Benson, the voice of Ariel. But did anyone catch that the woman in the soap opera is Paige O'hera? The voice of Belle from beauty and the beast?
That's How You know is meant to be a mix of Kiss the Girl and Under the Sea. There's even a boat scene reference. One of the old men was a chimney sweep in Mary Poppins.
If you like Patrick Dempsey in this movie, I recommend watching the Bridget Jones series as he’s in the third movie. A brilliant series and very funny too.

LOL if you can't stand cockroaches NEVER WATCH "Joe's Apartment" LOL. Also, the sequel is very lackluster compared to this one. Even my kids were disappointed 😥
Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a fun movie that places fully animated characters inside live-action scenes. It also transitions between animation and live-action multiple times. You guys would love it!
I recommend that* movie but I didn't give away that tidbit because I was thinking it would be a nice surprise since the beginning of the movie does not start off that way

when you watch the second movie keep in mind that they changed the actress for morgan but you barely notice it because they are so similar + the actress that played morgan in the first one is hidden in the movie. And there are lots of hidden easter eggs in both the first and second movie.
Zuff's right, every kid DOES have a Mom who watches Grey's lol I've never watched it on my own. Glad you guys surprisingly liked the movie! It's worth a watch for sure

You HAVE to watch Ella Enchanted with Anne Hathaway!! is such a good movie but i barely see it on reactions (sorry my english hah) btw i love your videoss
They took a ton of inspiration from other Disney movies - aside from the wicked witch stepmother who uses poison apples and turns into a dragon and true loves kiss. They also recreated the sweeping ballroom dancing shot from Beauty and the Beast, the woman in the soap opera was the voice of Belle, the receptionist at the law firm voiced Ariel. The dummy that Giselle creates is wearing a blue suit and Robert is wearing the same blue suit at the ball. While Giselle is cleaning there's a soap bubble with her face in it, the same as in Cinderella. The pizza place is called Bella Notte which is the name of the song that is sung outside the Italian restaurant in Lady and the Tramp with the famous spaghetti kiss. Some of the older gentlemen dancing in the central park scene were original chimney sweep dancers in Mary Poppins, and the narrator is voiced by Julie Andrews, plus the woman was feeding the birds in the park- another link to Mary Poppins. And the beginning and ending with the opening and closing of a storybook.... and that's just off the top of my head there is so much more.
34:53 "Edward has a Stepmother. I've never met her, but I hear she's just lovely" Few seconds later (me) : umm... how lovely is she? She's so innocent...
ELF and Enchanted is an interesting comparison because they both technically fit the BSY (Born Sexy Yesterday) trope. Pop Culture Detective has a whole video on his channel about it. Simply put: a character who is naive and childlike who doesn't know anything of the real world. Typically, these characters are super sexualized but since Enchanted and ELF are light-hearted and family targeted movies, it's probably not that deep. Still a trope I dislike, personally.
Please react to Bridge To Terabithia! It's sad but so good. It stars a younger Josh Hutcherson who played Peeta in The Hunger Games. Although not fantasy, another similar movie I'd recommend is My Girl, which stars Macaulay Culkin (Kevin from Home Alone), Anna Chlumsky (famous child actress in the 90s) and the legend that is Jamie Lee Curtis.
My brain is actually overloading and having a meltdown with all the hidden details and fun cameos in this movie so I don't even know where to start, please look into all the amazing work the creative team did to pack this film full of references for fans. The biggest for me is the fact Jodie Benson, AKA Ariel in the original The Little Mermaid, is the woman working in the law firm!
The troll was wearing Ariels shell bra as earrings, and his loincloth had Cinderellas maid outfit, and auroras rose outfit, Belle’s village dress, and Snow White’s rags.
