It's your call when you have the baby shower. My sister had a baby shower after her baby was born. I had mine 2 months before I was due because my son was due in the winter time. I didn't want him to get sick.
I would definitely say have it before. After you have the baby you are you going to be tired. Plus you don’t want to expose the baby to a lot of different people and germs. I didn’t start coming out for anything other than doctor appts until my kiddos were at least 3 months.
I was always told that your baby shower should be after your 7th month at least. I had mine at 8months pregnant. I know i personally wouldnt want to bring home 3 car loads of baby stuff too early in my pregnancy for multiple reason's and i think that may be why the 7 month is a thing. Its definitely an unwritten rule. No jinxing nothing, lol.
Traditional most cultures did it after. But cos America is the centre of the universe, people now think its normal to do before . Also gender reveal parties is a new thing. Honestly do you!! I keep to my culture cos i don't want it to be corrupted by American culture.
