I am slowly learning to release my fears about my 'imperfections'.
It was not really easy when I showed them to my husband and he eventually told me something along the lines of 'they bother you and only you, I wonder why you're torturing yourself'.

I'm also a victim of hot oil burns. I didn't have access to make up or wigs growing up, it affected my confidence levels and I always saw myself as the ugliest creature to exist but recently, I started to get my confidence back and now I walk out of the house without fear of judgement 😊

Wow.. Your a BEAUTIFUL BLACK WOMAN.. I'm a burn survivor also.I have 63%of my body has first, second & third degree burns.I was in a medicated coma for 2mths and in the hospital for 5mths. Crozer Burn center brought me back to life twice.That happened to me 15 years ago.I thank God every day I opened my eyes. I totally understand how you feel. I had to wear burn garments for almost 2 years. I didn't start wearing shorts into this year. I always was summer dresses in the summer. I would never show my legs or my stomach or my arms. My face filled up really really well. You can't even tell that I was burn on my face but I can tell. I have ran across your video on Facebook and decided to watch it. You're such an inspiration to me. Have a blessed.

When he asked to feel her burn marks, my heart sank. He wasn’t disgusted or anything by her. And I know that sounds cruel but I have discoid lupus and people act like they don’t even want to touch me in public. I thought that was really sweet of him to want to embrace her scars by touching them

I too dated a man burned about 80-90% of his body, he was so beautiful as a person I never noticed the scars until he shared the story. We dated for years and getting to know someone it everything, the shell is just that, the outer layer of an amazing individual!
