Dude sounds like the most positive person ever. Took pride in his job that many don’t see as glamorous. Fell from a height not rivaled by many. Lost his brother. Suffered many health complications as a result, but says “at least I can walk still”
I feel bad for the brother. Being skewered by a fence sounds like an awful way to go
Oh no he wasn’t skewered. No no no. He was split in half by the fence. Gruesome.
Severed skewered would be like him going onto a pol or spike lol

hopefully it happened so fast that all he felt was sudden impact. He didn't suffer for long
Me: broke my leg when I was walking
That guy: survived a 47 story fall
I have never broken or fractured a bone
SoupLooters who asked
Nah surviving is a whole lot different than breaking a bone.
@SoupLokters same
SoupLooters smae
To be fair, he survived the same way most early air pilots survived, which is jump onto something sturdy with hopefully the aerodynamics of an elephant, and pray that terminal velocity is gentle on whatever part of you survives.
@Ziad Khaled Better than no form of shield at all. Had he just fallen with just himself and no platform, he would for sure be a goner.
I wish people understood terminal velocity.
I have no idea what I just read

Poor dude got sliced in half by a fence. Rip to him and prayers to his family.
Tbh they need to get paid more omm cause that’s literally signing a death contract
Not really its pretty rare for death
But i do agree they should get more pay
The hazard is the only reason they make more than minimum wage. You don't have to have a lot of skill to be a window washer.
See he must of been a very lucky one to survived, but I could say that: "Always be careful. You might not see the future, but use it wisely."

If I ever end up as a window cleaner on a skyscraper remind me to take lessons on how to use a parachute before taking the job.
Imagine you being a kid that wants to play in the back yard and find a half-dead guy body near the fence.
Few backyards next to skyscrapers in NYC tho
I suppose this guy is living about as full of a life as he can get. Good for him. I'm sorry about what happened to his brother.
I heard that the platform had wedged between the walls of an alleyway, crumpling into a v shape and Moreno was in the low point so he’s velocity at the end was drastically decreased by this. Similar effect to crumple zones in cars to lower the impact force for the occupants. Still an absolutely ridiculous amount of luck involved. Great video

Dont ask, magician's never tell their secret
*The medical bill was even more painful.*

My dad was knocked off while washing windows by a crane, fell 22 stories cracked is head open, died and was brought back to life. Unfortunately he has some brain damage, so never really knew who he really was. He’s still able to drive, speak do basically anything but you can tell by talking to him. He’s not all there.
That man fell from 47 story , survived & lives normal life .
My friend just fell in love and has gone mad since then 👍
He finally spoke the day I was born. I needed this.
I would also assume the window washer told the interviewer how much he loved his job was instructed by his prosecutor to rule out attempted suicide in order to win the litigation court case.
Hmm yes, two brothers who immigrated from Ecuador to America to provide better for their families just decided to both commit suicide and abandon their families at the same time in spite of everything they did to make their lives better.
Bugman Repellent that’s exactly what the other lawyers would say. That they had a rough life and upbringing and couldn’t take it anymore and committed suicide
brain hurts
2:30 I know what he said "blah blah blah blah blah blah."
Me testing is there fall damage:
Lol
So, he was a teenager with a wife & 2 kids when he came here!?!?! Damm.
This dude made 13 million from the lawsuit. I’m glad for him.
I can't stop thinking about the brother sliced in half... 😩 I've been scared.
Man, imagine seeing someone falling at that speed and then watching that wooden fence sever him in half. Instant PTSD...
Even reading about this is traumatic. Eric Clapton had a son who died falling from a building. That's why he wrote tears in heaven many years later
He SURVIVED the fall. He didn’t leave unscathed tho 🤕

A tragic yet happy story. The infographics Show amazes with telling true stories. :)
The hardest thing to believe about this story is how enthusiastic he was about cleaning windows all day.
The real question is... HOW DID HE PAY OFF HIS MEDICAL BILLS WITH 12 BUCKS AN HOUR
He sued the safety equipment company, he’s also not working anymore so that says a lot about how much money he got from the lawsuit.
Pretty sure the company had to pay for this.
Fun Fact : The longest free fall ever survived was 10,160 meters (33,330 ft; 6.31 mi). It happened to a Serbian flight attendant named Vesna Vulović when the plane she was on was bombed by Croatian nationalists mid-flight. She was the only survivor from the plane.
wasn't a miracle at all he just had a totem of undying in his off hand
gotta be grateful for never breaking a bone
Me: broke my hand falling from a 10 feet high pole
This guy:🧎🧍🚶🏃🤸
I fell 45 ft before!!! Broke my leg and back. But can still walk...
I love when the animation goes "bla bla bla bla bla"
Wow watching an Infographics video the same day it’s released is as rare as me not watching an Infographics video at 2am...
The Infographics Show: How did he survive?
Me: Mans brought a water bucket it with him, he hit that MLG water bucket clutch.
*minecreeft*
Infographics: Nothing has ever explained how he survived a 47 story fall.
Me: Well, maybe it wasn't his day to die.
You never really notice until you listen, most of the people in this animation talk like "blu bleu blue bluh ble blu".
I been knew lol
We all know the washer did an MLG with their bucket
There’s definitely a reason he didn’t die.
Whether or not we can know enough physical details to discern that reason is another story.

Before I watch this, he probably landed on one pixel block of water and survived
This has actually happened to my grandad and he survived! Granted it wasnt 47ft and he did have to stay in the hospital a few weeks but he did survive and decided not to work as a window washer anymore
Imagine how sad the family would be. They can’t even see him one last time becuz his body split into half.
I think the reason why Elsidas survived his fall is the reason he believes
Depending on thick the bottom of that platform was,he could have left the ordeal injury less
He’s got that Feather falling IV
Life and death really do the most huh? Like traumatizing two brothers wasn't enough, they had to be tragically separated. I hope the family got their closure😔💕
It's easy he just MLG water bucketed When he was close to the ground
It's a bit interesting how Infographics is posting every single day. They probably have really talented animators, or they have bots animating for them. It's impressive either way
the nurse just had putt an ice pack on his injuries on the ambulance, thats how he survived
His name is Alcides Miguel Moreno and I'm his nefew. It is surpricing to see how his history keeps been spread troughout the years.
I'm a roofer who has fallen 4 times in my life. Still a roofer, still not wearing a harness. Maybe I'll get an infographics video after #5 :)

My ROTC instructor, Staff Sgt. Starling Powers jumped out of an airplane and neither of his parachutes opened. He hit the ground from over 10,000 feet. I saw the newspaper story of it and was blown away reading it.
The title should be : How A Window Washer Survived a 47 million hospital bill - True Story

How it feels to chew five gum visualised
Bit of constructive feedback for this video. I think this video brushed over how he survived the fall. I have seen other theories about the cart acting as a roll cage and other science that could have been explored or explained a little deeper.
I'm starting to, progressively, get less and less late to these parties...
What party ?????
0:55 2017 - Fell from the building
5:07 2007 - Woke up from his medically induced coma after falling from the building in 2017
So... what you're saying is... if you fall hard enough and survive, you're travelling back through time?
I was looking for this comment. I noticed too and had to rewatch it to make sure I heard it right
Fascinating subject and I liked the script but there was some tone issues with the animation. Really wrong to have a grinning man holding a knife with a piece of fence for its blade while talking about how the brother died. The visual of the knife would've been macabre enough but the grinning man just makes it creepy and poor taste.
Yeah I couldn't believe they put that in
Maybe they could have done an animation of a guy doing the splits on the fence at 120 mph!

You needed to put on your harness on before you step onto ANY platform that you can fall more then 1.5m, its a hard rule at my job.
They kept him alive so he would have to pay the bill
Imagine being the people inside the building and seeing 2 ppl fall to their what is supposedly both of their deaths.
Infographics: Says he can never run
Two-Seconds Later: He runs in marathons for charity.
5k runs aren't exactly marathons.
Imagine walking out your backyard for another boring day of work when you see this unlucky guy split in half by your fence in your backyard.
To bad he ended up dying after seeing his hospital bill.
I know this is a joke but the company who installed it payed his med bills, it’s what they get for putting their workers at risk
@@Bro1212_ did they compensate money tho?

I’ll like my comment because nobody else will
I've notice throughout near death experiences that they usual happen in colder conditions. My theory is that because it was frigid out, and that outermost blood vessels contract to save warmth. It was the contraction that save the window-cleaner's life, by preventing blood loses.
The problem wasnt that he could bleed out the problem was that his bones were broken/fractured.
:D
