Chinese fighter jet crash and investigation (unseen footage)

- A reminder of how things used to be at the Tokoroa Airfield as this horrific crash is thoroughly investigated by all interested parties. RC planes are a fantastic hobby, we must never forget that and we must ensure it survives for future generations to enjoy.
A huge thank you to the supporters of the channel... I'll try to keep the fun flying footage coming for as long as I can. There are hours of stuff as yet unedited so stay tuned!
Tokaroa city council have investigated the crash and determined that Bruce Simpson is to blame.
Well, he was on the same planet at the time... ( not a drug reference )
Was Bruce authorized to operate a video-camera, by the council?

Isn't there a new upcoming rule in their regulations, that whatever happens, Bruce is always to blame? No investigation needed.
@@hamshackleton I think the new rule says that he should be supervised by a director who has made at least 3 blockbuster movies, and studied under Kubrick and Spielberg.
From the sound of him trimming the elevator, I wonder if he had the same issue Brian Phillips had, the pushrod for the elevator pulled out of the control link.
My guess is that the actuators for the gear, pulled too much current, causing the voltage to drop to the control surface servos.
You win the prize. Yep, the battery was hi-resistance and the load of the gear caused a brownout apparently.

@xjet how could it have been prevented ? Better elevator servos or better servo extensions for the elevators ?
On a bird like that I would be running a separate rx pack and possibly a back up battery as well. Was wire gauge and connections adequate? Made a good video anyway. :) It seemed to be kinda dutch rolling around in flight a bit as well@@xjet

Nothing like a scavenger hunt after an unplanned and unsuccessful inverted landing and then to finish it off with the experts fron the TTSB (Tokaroa Transport Safety Bureau) discussing the full flight analysis leading up to and the probable cause with a seculation of what caused the incident. It is unfortunate that the tower has been removed, as radar information could've been very useful...
Perhaps a Chinese satellite had flown overhead and interfered with the control of the aircraft?
I hope that the council does not count this towards your bad (not true) safety record at Tokaroa.
On a serious note, it is never a nice feeling to have a nice model damaged in any way whilst enjoying flying it, but that is the risks we take every timewe take to the skies. I enjoy your channels very much.
Hi its Bill , I offered to repair the model for free but Richie turned me down but has sold it to me and its now totally repaired and looks almost new again but not sure when it will fly again as i don't have a battery for it and also no sure what's happen with the field Cheers Bill
Please do NOT depend on a BEC, Bill! Please put a separate rx pack in it at least. Maybe size up the wiring and check the LG for high current draw. Just trying to help :)
@@kirkglundal4289 yes thanks for that sounds like a good idea so will use a 8 amp stand alone BEC but the most of the problem was the battery was flat in just 3 min it was a 5200 /6s

It was looking a bit twitchy during the flight. That might have something to do with the Expos though. Always a big shame when a beautiful model crashes. Looks like a job for the hot glue gun. It definitely had something to do with the landing gear being deployed.
Bruce, with your issue with the bully council or councillor I have a suggestion. Why dont you enlist the help of Jacinder A she is a now retired NZ PM. She has the world wide experience in mediation and spent some time in Australia. I believe it is gender issue and the lady mayoress might respond better if she has contact with JA. The council is shown its nasty reaction by demolishing the control tower and banning you from the airfield. You might get deported to Australia.
