- Hi everyone! New kind of video coming from me, huh?
For anyone curious about my intentions and plans for the future: I want more practice drawing, writing, and boarding things, and I think growing this channel by making multiple types of videos gives me lots of opportunities to work on projects that I care about.
Like mini passion projects, or just little discussions about things I like. Mostly I want to keep things art/writing focused, and by making videos I’m getting a lot of practice for various skill done at once! Things like being able to express my ideas effectively through writing and speaking, drawing well but quickly, and editing videos and audio, all bundled into little projects. My goal is to improve myself, and have fun!
I’m not aiming to be a storytime animator, but I will say that there’s absolutely inspiration in the general format of this video from there. But I don’t plan on making videos specifically about my personal life, unless it’s a little anecdote pertaining to whatever I’m already talking about (like I did here!).
I would really like to focus on the art and writing aspects of things, and that’s why I started with a video about my art progression in a specific area. I thought it’d be fun to talk about something dear to me, and better allow me to understand how I got where I am!
For those who maybe want a sneak peek into my next video plans, I’ve got a couple of ideas. I might get a speed paint of some sort out next, but then after that I’ll hopefully have a bigger storyboarded project that I’m woking on completed. I’m excited about it, but projects like that take time, so having ‘easier’ videos in between more complicated/time consuming ones will give me the breathing room I need. Plus, it keeps me from getting too one-track minded about a project if I let myself relax and do mini-projects during the process!
So, if you read all this and enjoyed the video, thank you so much! I’m really hoping I can follow through with my plans for this channel, and make the stuff I want to make!

I'm also a sonic fan. Sure I'm 11 yrs old, but I still LOVE the sonic franchise. So seeing this video makes me feel happy knowing that i'm not the only sonic fan at such a young age.
You are in the '' main/targeted audience'' of Sonic. Older people are fans due to the nostalgia, but nowadays the movies have been made to appeal to kids and a new wave of fans appeared. Adults can enjoy these things but we can't forget the main audience are kids

@@SonicBalance yeah, I was also more drawn to the old stuff of Sonic, like Sonic X and other stuff that is blurry in my memory.
Am ten and i have sonic adventure and adventure 2 i have generations classic games fighters unleashed forces frontiers and colors both versions sonic advance games and a whole room YES A ROOM full of sonic toys of jazware to jakks toy island and a bit of bootlegs my mom thought was real even though they look like garbage atleast they had super shadow and sonic with... RINGS ON HIS WRIST WAIT WHAT WEREHOG TOO HOLY and knuckles and i think there was more but idk i can't check rn and i have lots more like plushies and stuff

This is so interesting about your art progression, and what motivated you to keep going. It's actually quite touching, and also inspiring, not only seeing how you drastically improved with drawing, but the emotional aspect that kept you going too.
I find it inspiring too, because of your perseverance. I've loved Sonic characters, and other characters for a very long time, and always wished I could draw them, but just assumed that I couldn't. I've just always accepted that I'm bad at drawing, and so there was no reason to keep on trying. But your efforts and persistence in the undertaking really put me to shame. I should have just kept on trying.
That speed drawing at the end was really amazing and came out beautiful. Keep on drawing and making this beautiful art, and thank you for this awesome video!

But now they're overthrowed by Sonic, it's like he's kicking or punches them off the screen saying mean stuffs like "Move out of the way creepy-bug freaks! I'm taking you're place!" says with a evil smile on of his face, and if the girls tries to attack this "Sonic" he uses chaos control to steal the girls' powers, seeing the girls all defeated and bruised, Who will save them, and find out why Sonic did this to them,
The sonic character that always popped out to me was Metal sonic, he was cool, sleek, intimidating, had cool bossfights, along with the fact that I really liked robots, especially back then. Not to mention he was in the first sonic game I ever played (sonic 4 episode 2). In which he had the best fight in the game. Love drawing him too, and my favorite sonic character to this day.
I'm so happy to know it wasn't just me who had Tails as my favorite character and was constantly drawing him when I was 8 (I also loved to play his flash games)❤️❤️ I identify 100% with what you said!

I was the same way as well. I grew up obsessed with the Archie sonic comics that got me interested in learning how to draw (mainly from Spaz and Steven Butler), now I’ve been drawing ever since. Love the video.
How are you so underrated??? It's amazing to see another Tails fan!!! Growing up as a huge Sonic fan, not many people I know loved Tails as much as I do. I absolutely loved the Characters and "some" of the games. Like you, I also love Foxes, it's also one of the reasons why I love Tails as a character. Your art is amazing too. I sadly threw away most of my sonic art when my phase came to an end before I got back into it in high school.
I like the story of your progression and the motivation of your art, and I'm sure it will inspire other people to draw sonic art too!

Recently, I haven’t been in any good mood. No game is fun. Being with friends wasn’t the same. But I decided I would pick up drawing again. And I tried to draw tails. At first I was frustrated mostly because I suck at drawing. At least that’s what I think, my family says that I’m great at drawing. But after a good day of drawing and looking at photos of tails as a reference. I learned I was having fun. For the first time in about a year and a half. I saw that I couldn’t stop drawing him and decided to try branching just a little bit. So I made my own character. She’s like tails except mint colored(her name is mint for those who are curious). And since making her, I haven’t stopped drawing. I’ve never been so obsessed about something like this ever since I was a kid playing sonic games as a child. I was originally looking for something here on RUclips to help me learn to draw sonic characters other than a fox. But I found this video among them. It’s so cool to see something I feel that I’m starting to experience. And to be honest. I am thinking of learning art so I can do this as a living and for fun. I just want to say that your art is amazing and that I really wanted to share my experience so far. Thank you for those who read this and I hope you have a fantastic day!

Wow...this is eerily similar to my story of getting into sonic and drawing it. I'm younger and was expised to it through sonic x, but theres so much similar like me only drawing animals and no humans previously, loving tails, and being specifically 8 years old.
I will say it again and again that the genius character designs in sonic are the reason the series has stuck around and remained popular for so long despite the games...varying in quality.

Damn. The way she makes illustrations look EASY, you can see that it’s not just the result of years of drawing experience but also the sheer volume of output like her life depended on it. And she’s still something of a youngin’ yet. At this rate, she’s even gonna give the GOAT (Tyson Hesse) a run for his money. Respect.

The sonic franchise had a *grip* on me as a child from the youtube parodies i used to watch all the time, but i never quite got the chance to share it with anyone so it kinda just faded away

This video hits me so much, as a Sonic Fan and how I started drawing and improving in the first place. And Hell Yeah for 11:10 ! SA1 and SA2 Artwork by Yuji Uekawa (along side with Archie Comics (especially Tracy Yardley) and fan-artists) are STILL one of my favourite inspiration for me to this day C’:
I can kinda tolerate Tails’ later depiction in the meta era by chalking most of it up to Sonic’s arrogance rubbing off on him, but his portrayal in “Forces” was kinda the point where the camel’s back was broken. I’m so glad that they’re now trying to reel back from that portrayal with “Frontiers” and “Prime”.
i always find tails to be the most complex character to draw due the the major amount of details he has
i feel like this is the only youtube I could relate too because I also liked to draw sonic characters a lot growing up- especially Amy it was bad haha- but ever since then I continued to draw and now I'm still loving the sonic franchise!
I love sonic legit helped me through my childhood I’m 14 now and I was introduced to it when I was 6 :D I’m trying to draw sonic and stuff
I'll be honest, younger me was skeptical of Sonic, younger me said "this would never be good!" But I gave it a try, I liked it, and the next thing you know, I'm speeding off creating OCs faster than Sonic himself.
But I owe it all to my first OC, Cinder the Cat, for the reason I love Sonic. And I'm 17 now and still making OCs, it all started when I was 12.

2:42 Tail’s is also my favorite character and has been since I first discovered Sonic around 12 years ago, for two main reasons; first My favorite animal was foxes, and he just felt… Idk how to explain it- But like- He was just everything I wanted to be as a kid, he was relatable in a sense.

You have no idea how much I agree I also started drawing when I was 8 or 7 but I have been obsessed with everyone (mainly tails and silver) sense I was 5 and I actually really look up to tails and I have been for years I am 11 now and I love seeing this kind of things where people explain why they love sonic or other things so much and your drawings are so much better then mine when I started cause I didn't start drawing cause of sonic but for a book series called wings of fire and its dragons so u started to draw when I was confident enough and my first drawing was of silver the hedgehog but I have also drawn tails way more then silver but it's cool to hear about your journey!

Ever since I was a wee boy, I've really liked Sonic. Something about this little blue bastard endeared himself to me. I watched reruns of the cartoon on Toon Disney and religiously watched my cousins play SA2 and SADX on the GameCube whenever I visited, but I never actually played a Sonic game until Unleashed. That's when I truly fell in love with the series.
I have never been able to play any of the games but this fandom has a chokehold on me omg
I know this video was year ago, but maybe Marine will come back. A few days ago there was premiere a mobile game Sonic Dream Team and we could play some Sonic's friends and Cream who wasn't included so many years in Sonic francise. I even like her new voice.
I’ve also been a sonic fan for a decade and I’m still on my journey drawing sonic. When I first got Into the sth franchise, I was more into the games than the art so I didn’t draw for most of my time being a fan. I enjoyed the lore and the games and started into voice impressions after I started drawing, it’s nice to see someone else’s journey on art similar to my new journey now
I've also been an artist, and a Sonic fan, for practically my whole life. I'm also 24, and I still love Sonic too. And now to point out where I'm different. I started out with the Classics, and moved on to the 3D games later on. I have also enjoyed Tails myself. I probably spent my younger years drawing Sonic characters too. Marine is pretty good as well. I started drawing humans pretty quick though. I too like what you can do with hands. You can definitely see the Sonic inspiration in my modern art style. Big heads, big eyes, big hands/feet, small bodies/limbs, etc. My art style would definitely developed a lot differently if I hadn't been a fan of Sonic. I'm not a fan of Pokèmon though.
Cute video. I love these characters too. I love Marine too. I want her in more games. And I think her power should be more than just water that she used in Sonic Rush Adventure. Since we have Chaos as the Water Sonic Character. So I think she should have the power of Cryomancy. Especially since we never had an Ice Sonic Character.

Sonic is what inspired me to draw in the first place.
I'm still drawing him now, and even when I draw other things, you cannot tell me to stop. I'll just keep going back to it and if you tell me otherwise, I will personally draw Windrunner (AU Sonic) punching you in the face for trying.

i understand your favorite characters are Tails and Marine because they're based off your favorite animals, and honestly, i got really interested into cats especially black cats and surprise, my favorite character is Blaze . I love how she has the power of fire and i like the colour purple, she's lavender, but that gave me a bias . And at this point i made my own sonic oc called Altas, that's how i made my channel, Guardian_Atlas .

I’ve also been a sonic fan for a very, very long time I mean, I even have a poster of sonic frontiers in my room. I have a giant sonic head I mean I have my own tails plushy because it’s my favorite character. I also keep a packet of mints on me at all times, because I actually love mints, but other than that yeah I have a lot of sonic characters that I really love but tails is a personal favorite next to sonic

My first favorite Sonic character was Tails as well :D
Because of his mechanical skills, the fact he could fly a plane but my favorite part of him was that he could fly and that was my favorite part about him. I have took inspiration from Tails and put 2 tails on my Sonic character. He's a Hox. A hedgehog + a fox. My super form has 3, while my Hyper form has 5. My dark form has 7 and my ultra form has 9. And I still like the fox.
But I like Sonic. (Sorry, Tails)
My favorite Pokémon is Eevee. I just like how cute she is and my favorite evolution is Slveon. She's just cute

i'm the other way around.
I grew up loving the series due to Sonic way back in 1993 when I first played Sonic the Hedgehog on my genesis, Sonic was my favorite sonic character at the time.
then I played Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and was the first time I was introduced to Tails and from there I started to grow leaning more towards him since i'm a sucker for cutesy looking characters over the more altitude badass characters like sonic.
my mind got blown away when they started to air the 1992 animated cartoon series on TV, though I completely shift my likeness more towards tails when I played Sonic Heroes on the ps2, and around that time I bought sonic gem collectors on the ps2 and I absolutely loved Tails Adventure which was in the collection too.
Sonic is a cool character but tails currently to this day as a grown-up is my no.1 favorite sonic character, next to him is Rouge the Bat then Cream, and the rest is Bunnie Rabot, Charmy Bee, Vector, Espion, Amy, Sonic and Vanilla.
never liked Shadow at all, especially after playing his ugly game Shadow the Hedgehog, they tried to make a more edgy badass and emo-ish sonic version but it failed to me at least, I tried to likes him but it just doesn't click with me.

Introduced to Sonic at 8 years old, specifically Sonic Heroes, a copy of which belonged to an older sibling, has Tails as the favorite character (due in part to being the same age)

I've only played a couple sonic games in my entire life (none of which I finished) those being sonic rush adventure and one of the old ones (idk which one) but my favorite characters were also tails and marine (and Blaze). I never really drew sonic stuff but I really enjoy the freanchise/
