HE DREW THE SA1 POSE RIGHT IN MULTIPLE STYLES OMG YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY THAT MAKES ME EVERYONE GETS IT WRONG AND I'M CONSTANTLY SCREAMING INTERNALLY BECAUSE OF IT!
nvm i get it, it's in the intro. anyway, that's easy because it's literally traced (like a bunch of other official renders to demonstrate isolated segments and parts, like highlighting the lineart of the Sonic Battle and Adventure styles) from the original drawing, but applying the rest of the styles on it was a treat
I've been a longtime fan of the sonic adventure art style and there used to be tons of different guides on the older internet...but the newer internet seems to fall short a lot of the time unfortunately.
My man not only covered all Sonic's artstyles perfectly, he ALSO EDITED EACH STYLE SECTION IN THE VIDEO LIKE THE SONIC GAMES. Really astonishing work! 👏
This isn’t just a phenomenal edited art video for Sonic fans, it’s genuinely well written and educational to the point that it should be shown in art classes in schools. Amazing work through and through.
Creator of jaws the shark here, this is a really smackin good video! Editing was great and you did a really good job of finding the quirks of and explaining the styles, good stuff man.
As an amateur artist who has been drawing since 2013, I have been trying to emulate Yuji Uekawa's art style (dreamcast sonic) since 2018, and honestly I really adored the style. I've always wanted to mimic the other styles for a long time, but could never actually do it. Thanks for these tutorials for the other art styles!
My god, even shifting the whole video's style with each segment even when there's already so much quality editing going on... That's the kind of effort you really have to applaud
I wanna be selfish a see a part 2 to this with other art styles weve seen in the franchise. Like theres icon people like greg martin, evan stanley, Adam Bryce Thomas, Trace Yardely, etc that all look very distinct from each other and have a specific feel to their work. You could probably make an entire series based just on the various styles in Sonic alone
the editing quality on this is incredible, legit. i like that you added in the names of the original artists, helps people know who they're learning it from
This is mighty impressive, holy. I can tell breaking down the Adventure style specifically was not easy and you did it wonderfully. All the styles were explained so well in general. And the editing was straight up eye candy too! Massive props to you
Ok, first of. I am very flabbergasted that you have drawn MOST of the other things VERY accurately such as Pokemon and Mario. and now even Sonic. I have high hopes to your future as an artist!
I know nothing about art, but as an aspiring video editor, I LOVE the effort and attention to detail in your editing. And after watching, I actually think I learned more about art here than anywhere else. Amazing video.
Saw this video being teased on my Twitter timeline yesterday, and all I can say is just DAMN. There is so much to take in here. You do such an amazing job breaking down each style in an easy to understand way. The accompanying motion graphics are a stellar case of show AND tell. All the effort put into recreating backgrounds, transition screens, and all the extra visual flourishes so closely, genuinely leaves me speechless. You can tell months of work and passion went into making this one video. This would've changed my life as a kid, both from the art and techniques learned, but also from a visual presentation stand point. This is the type of video that makes people create videos.
for a person who is still trynna figure out their art style and wants to see what are other fun ways to draw i think this series is great. it also fun to see that sonic riders did something similar to what im trying out at the moment (pencil texture lines, of three weights). I've always found that style to be my favorite sonic style cause of how fun it looked so maby i subconciously picked up on that. Love all the ideas that come to mind when seeing these
I’d love for you to do guides on Halo’s famous concept artists like Shiek, Issac Hannaford and lorraine mclees They have such a unique way of drawing tall dudes in suits of power armor and I’d love your thoughts on their styles
Thank you for this! Was wondering what the techniques they used for the sonic adventure style and you put it in a very concise way thats extremely easy to understand. I cant wait to try this out!
some of my favourite sonic artstyles are the one off ones from sonic channel, i specifically like the character artworks they posted in 2018, 19 and 20. of course i can't forget about Yui Karasuno's lovely style used for things like the Sonic PICT artworks and the symphony artworks. if sonic ever gets a part 2 i'd love to see this style tackled specifically
This is more than likely the best Sonic artstyle video on yt. If more OCs actually used the shading from the Adventure games' artwork, they'd actually fit in with the cast. Looking at the latest games feel out of place and from another series imo, on top of being lower quality in comparison
bro i havent finished the video yet, but what is this production value!?? your switching you whole interface depending on the artstyle in subject with super detailed animation work AND sound, goddamn, as an amateur one man team this just blows my mind and stresess me out at the same time, just IMAGINING the amount of work this takes to do. I am very surprised with this extreme profesional quality my friend.
bro i had to pause the game a few times, just when i was processing and taking the animation and panning of a shot you instantly bombard me with 2 more shots, im blown away
Bro your explanations and editing are bar none, I don't even think I've seen many guides from pro artists in the industry that come even close to this, and there's a lot of them that offer courses and videos. I can tell there was a lot of love and care put in to this, you did a fantastic job. I look forward to your future content man, outstanding work.
Oh what. 7 hours ago? damn, I think this is gonna blow up quick. I don't even draw, haven't played a sonic game in years, still got recommended this, quite impressive.

I absolutely LOVE the editing in this video. Switching the whole vibe and style for each segment is awesome and is something I haven't really seen before! I can't imagine how much time it took lol

Greatest video I've seen in months, fantastic job👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 The artstyle of Sonic over the years have been phenomenal and I really appreciate you covering all of the great ones as detailed as you did here

Also. I love your dedication to your editing, and replicating tge motion graphics from the Sonic games. Just beautiful!
This is a phenomenal video. Excellent reproduction of each series' art styles and great explanations for each step. Bonus points for having each section fully represent the series/style to each. Great job!
