Zakk really is a remarkable musician. Besides his crushing riffs & squeals, his soulful acoustic work & vocals are second to none. Even when he's just fucking around like when he did the Hello Kitty stunt, you're left speechless and deeply moved. There's so many of his songs that I can't listen to unless I'm prepared to tear up.
I saw Ozzy with Zakk on guitar and Geezer Butler on bass(sorry, can't remember who played drums that night) in Bristol Studio. It was a small place - between 500-1000 people and I was down the front, about 8ft away from them. I grew up on Sabbath and love the first 2 solo Ozzy albums. (Love Jake E. Lee too,but for me,Randy was the man) Am happy to say that I left having really enjoyed it -saw half of Sabbath and was quite impressed with Zakk too. So much so that I saw them again in Birmingham NEC in 91or92 with UDO (Udo Dirkenshnieder from Accept's band) supporting which was worlds apart from a low key, break the new guy in kinda gig that Bristol was... but I must agree with you, the first two albums are better than the rest for me, especially NRFTW has the edge. Great video! Not many people have done anything similar -kudos
...i bought the vinnil LP (back then....in the 90's)....after the first time of listen all the songs, Mr Tinkertrain was and still is my favorite song......(greetings from Kalamata (south Greece)

And I wish to see you on a live show and if possible meet when you guys get a chance to come near to south Germany after this stupid pandemia.. Cheers...
@@EugeValovirta230V I was not able to find it in your videos... Do you have any video talking about tunning and strings used by Zakk? I've seen he uses a lot of high gauge strings when dropping the guitar's tune... Thanks a lot.

Euge Valovirta, can you make a Zakk Wylde lesson just focusing on Chicken Picking licks that Zakk Wylde does? he also has Dunlop Rotovibe licks he does often
@@EugeValovirta230V yes I have seen this one. Zakk Wyldes VHS video lesson the chicken picking licks are different than your chicken picking licks. I think the SPX-90 when chicken picking licks doesn't work well because when he uses the boss overdrive with the boss chorus while chicken picking licks it sounds good. The Pride & Glory album has chicken picking licks he does that is not in your video lesson. You have to make a new video Part#2 chicken picking licks
Amazing vid man, I’ve been checking out all your stuff after stumbling across this vid. Could you do a in the style of Jerry Cantrell? I always thought he had a killer tone as well
Usually in front but sometimes in the loop. With my old 800s always in front ’cos they don’t have a loop 😎. There’s no wrong or right way; it just gives you two different flavours. Some prefer in the loop and some in front.
How one sounds depends mostly about the player and then everything else that comes after that (pickups, guitar, amp etc.) Cabinet & speakers and the mics being used to capture it all are about 80% of the rest. You have too much low end - decrease the low end, sounds too scooped - increase mids etc. I have no idea about how he sets his gear ’cos if I would and set mine like his I would 100% sound different ’cos, like I said it’s mostly in the hands. But if I’d try to sound approx like him I’d just use my ears to dial the gear. And who knows maybe the settings would be close to his 😎. It’s not about where the knobs are but just about the sound ’cos I don’t hear a sh%# with my eyes 👌. One key device for the wide chorus sound on the album was Yamaha’s SPX-90 and quadtracked rhythm gtrs and as it happens I’ve done videos about the subject 😊: - ruclips.net/video/1c7aEOJtSlM/видео.html - ruclips.net/video/NGex74emt2U/видео.html
