I have gotten some feedback that the song is too loud, the reason for this that I had huge problems with my editing program making this video. I have now added subtitles, so please turn them on if you're having problems hearing the voiceovers! :)
I guess I made this video a bit different than my other Saturn videos, in the way that I tell the story. It doesn't really go from start till end, but rather I put some memories as it goes. Hope you will like it!
Hi you all! I know that that the song is too loud for some, the reason for this that I had huge problems with my editing program making this video. I have added subtitles, so please turn them on if you're having problems hearing the voiceovers! :) And thank you all for the lovely comments, it means a lot
I really think the audio levels are perfect as someone who knows all the lines from the movie, I can hear both at once clearly.
@@josephhughes1498Thank you, it's very nice to hear that!
Everything about this movie is magical and beautiful. A storyline filled with such intense passion and love. Cinematography so dynamic and breathtaking. And the cast so perfectly chosen with undeniable chemistry. ❤
they also have a movie about his great grandmother Lady Elizabeth Finch-Hatton (nee murray) very inaccurate but nice movie nonetheless "Belle 2013"
@@Satu-zs7gmI had no idea about this, I’ll watch it thanks so much!
@@josephhughes1498 Denys George Finch-Hatton's grandmother was Fanny Rice, daughter of Elizabeth Austen Knight, daughter of Edward Austen Knight of Godmersham park (rich brother of Jane Austen)

Two magnificent actors in a magnificent film: one of those which are much better than the book. When I read the book I liked it, but when I saw the movie I was really impressed: it makes you cry, laugh, feel free and alone, it makes you want to live it!
When she walked off carrying the dirt at his funeral i started sobbing so hard in the theatre. I had no idea how this movie would remind me of the man who had just left. I had to sit there and get control of myself. It still brings back the memories. Such a great work by Sydney and the actors.
I actually found a bench at Eton dedicated in his honor...it was a very moving experience. The movie is a masterpiece.
I cried so much the first time I saw this movie.....and every time since, which is often. The story telling is wonderful, the relationship so special, the country ..... magnificent. I think it's time for a rematch !!
@@janetsoar1017 aah i wish we could have a watch party.
So many excellent scenes in this movie.
For me, the most romantic film of all time, bar none. The book is astonishingly gorgeous, and the film absolutely does it justice, which I think is a rare thing.
Hi Terri , loved the film , i"m reading the book now, i also think this is the most romantic film i have ever seen also.... when their in the Gipsy Moth flying over the valleys of Kenya ,and that beautiful music starts ....i"ve watched it twice this week....regards Dennis Aus.

Robert Redford here reminds you of Brad Pitt. What a mesmerizing film....one of my all-time favorites! Meryl Streep and Robert Redford and the lovely cinematography amidst the wonderful, wonderful John Barry music....
I'm Danish, when I was growing up and a teen ager, Karen Blixen was portrayed in the Danish press as an older eccentric not very attractive lady. however reading the book about her and Denys Finch Hatton she was so much more than that. Courageous, ahead of her time and quite charming and lovely in her youth. I have been to her childhood home, which is now a museum in Rungsted north of Copenhagen. By the way my dad who was a Gardner did his apprentice ship in the town of Rungsted.
Sehr interessant 👍
Viele Grüße aus Deutschland
IMHO, you cut the scene of her amongst the packing crates just short of the best line in the movie, where she asks if he's had dinner. She's sitting surrounded by the utter ruin of her life, and still, she 's the consummate host, thinking of Denys as her honored guest. Even with her life falling apart around her, she still has that steel in her spine, that grace.
All that said, THANK YOU! I love this video!
Thank you!!
😢😢😢
Listen to this almost daily honestly, what a great combination of Out of Africa and this song…
Thank you!
What an amazing and beautiful movie!!
Brandauer played the husband beautifully as well. He was such a character. He was mainly a stage actor and rarely appeared in movies. He had to really like the part. How could he resist.
Klaus Maria Brandauer is still alive and he is still an amazing actor. One of the best of his generation. Watch "Mephisto", if you are interested in Brandauer. His performance is mind blowing.
well done. so many great scenes and dialogue, my favorite however is when he is washing her hair. thankyou
Thank you! I love that scene too, one of my faves in the whole film :)
@@frklinee i was in absolute stitches about this very thing as someone else commented on another thread and it went along the lines of...’dear god, imagine having Robert Redford washing your hair!’
I have always loved this movie, because it complete honestly and logical thinking on all characters involved. Yet , love dominates, adding great sadness.
My favorite movie, it's always amazing when someone comes to your life and make your fears; false evidence appear real vanish before you and life takes a new course🍀
That music overpowers the beauty.
I love this beauutiful video...my favorite movie & music...thank you.
Thank you!!
The thing about Meryl Streep is that she is the ne plus ultra of actors from the Boomer generation. We're so fortunate that she came along.
Then you for posting! What a glorious composite from the movie!
Thank you!!
I so so love this video! Can't stop watching it over and over again. Out of Africa is such a wonderful film! And Sleeping at Last/ Saturn matches perfectly. Thanks! Great job!
Thank you soooo much!
This movie is one of my favorites. It made me want to visit Kenya. To see where she lived and walked. I read hear book. And in 2016 i went to Kenya. I saw her house. I saw the ngong hills. It was breathtaking. I even listened to the soundtrack as i was flying into nyrobi.
I haven't seen this movie in forever! I was just a kid when I saw it, and now I remember why it depressed me so bad 😂
Beautiful video, beautiful editing, everything. ❤
Yes it is a bit depressing, but I still love it so much
This movie launched an entire fashion line in the late 80's and earley 90s
Such a beautiful film.

I just subscribed because of this incredibly beautiful song you chose ! This is one of my absolute favorite movies ! This song makes it like a beautiful and sad dream! You touched my heart and soul 💗 Thank You 🌹💗
The song is from Saturn --- Sleeping at last !
Incredibly beautiful and fitting !
Great video ! 💗
My God, you are brave to edit this! ))))
Wow, what a love story...ripped a heart in two😥..but inseparable.
Esse filme é belíssimo. Redford e MERYL estão maravilhosos!! Sou fã!!
This is incredibly well done
Thank you
Denys was so typical of someone who grew up at boarding school. Charming, bright, well read but terrified of intimacy and responsibility. Karen outdo have had no idea of course. What he presented was not was he could sustain.
Beg to differ, respectfully.....Denys knw his limitations, he knew the boundaries and restrictions under which he COULD NOT lose his identity and still be with one woman. She was about coveting, ownership, he points it out even..."my"...you go as far as to imply and maybe even accuse him of deception and dishonesty. I could not disagree more with you on that. Methinks doth do protest too much, Christina.....
@@billrayburn2775 On the contrary..Thats the difference between men and women..Many men think they can daly with women and not put any sacrifice or intimacy or coupling with the sex..Like they can come and go as they please without any committment or responsibility or conseqeunces for their behaviors.....The irony being is true mature love and intimacy and marriage is never about "owning" anyone.....People bloom and grow as individuals in the context of the relationships....Their identity of themselves being secure in the context of the relationship is the marking of mature love...That's what the fear based dont get...People who think that are emotionally immature and insecure...They separate it and women like Karen often dont...But at the end of the film, we see Denys overcoming his intimacy fear and entertaining the idea of permanently joining with her as he tells her he is being forced to rethink all his ideas and beliefs just being around her....He was entertaining the idea of overcoming his limitations just before he died...That makes this scene all the more tragic and poignant...Its not that men are more emotionally immature than women but their culture and background and education and patriarchy has unfairly stifled that human need and women are given the advantage since childhood of nurturing that need..
i hate how they downplay this, The Hon. Denys Finch-Hatton came from one of the oldest aristocratic in England, he descended from Christopher Hatton (Lord Chancellor to Queen Elizabeth I) and Finch from the Earls of Winchilsea and Nottingham!
Denys's brother, 14th Earl of Winchilsea was married to the richest american heiress of the season, Margaretta Drexel
His Grandmother the ironically named Fanny Rice was great niece of Jane Austen from her brother Edward Austen Knight. (she always stuffed the house with Austen cousins).
Très beau film des acteurs formidables

Absolutely wonderful Line!! love the editing and the song!! Amazing job
Thank you sooo much!!
Honestly, I think this turned out amazing, the volume on the music, and the voiceovers are perfectly balanced in my opinion. I have too many favorite scenes from this film that I can't pick one single one, so I'm gonna say that I love the entire thing because I think you placed the clips and voiceovers in the perfect places. My comment might be cliche but Well done! Now if you dont mind Im gonna check out your other videos cause youve caught my interest.

Thank you for putting in the subtitles so the loud music wasn't a big issue. I have in general found that the singers they most often use in movie accompaniment or during the final credits are usually not very good singers, or have odd (and often annoying, affected voices) that I find quite unpleasant. In your opinion do you think they do that to help the theater owners get the customers out quickly so they can start filling up for the next showing? I'm serious, while watching at home I usually have to mute my TV at those times. I'd like your opinion, please.
Interesting opinion! I never really thought about it, as I am very fond of music and feel that the music usually is carefully selected to fit the story. I will try to notice it more now, though :)
@@frklinee Thank you for your reply. I love music too but I can't always listen to closing credit music choices. One movie (I think it may have been one of the Miami Vice movies) Had a women working herself into a frenzy singing the same 3 words...hard enough coming from my TV, had to be hell in a theater, lol!
Gorgeous movie, gorgeous actors. The music is way too loud, overwhelms the dialogue, and is nothing compared to the original soundtrack.
Mi peli preferida es maravillosa los dos son unos monstruos del cine los amo ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰
Oh my........
So much art spent in editing the scenes, yet the music's too loud and drowns out excellent writing. Can it be adjusted?
It cannot. That is why I have added subtitles
Aimer devrait être notre seule raison de vivre.
Great but no offensive gotta hard to hear what their saying with all that loud annoying music in the background. The Dialogue should be heard regardless if you have seen the movie or not!!
Yes, and as you can see in the description there is a reason for it. Also there are subtitles.
Amor Amor nunca se olvida 💖💖💖💖💖💖❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I won't love you more because of a piece of paper.
A questionable argument - if it doesn't mean anything, then why not just do it to make the loved one happy? It is because it does indeed mean something - not necessarily about love, but about responsibility or freedom or sense of self - that he won't marry.
Please, does anyone know the complete quote what comes before of "...and then I know I can bear anything"-
it must be about a game Karen plays in her mind, about bad things happening to her and she thinks it can't be worse... ,
if someone can recall it , thank you so much!.
It is already in the video, but I can add it here too: "I make myself think about out camp. And Berkeley. And the first time that you took me flying. And when I'm certain I can't stand it anymore, I go one moment more. And then I know I can bear anything"
