    "I did; she said 'yes'." Redford was such a BOSS in this movie and at the peak of his gorgeousness!

      He was, if you lie to yourself and say he was American, but Denys was English, and Redford couldn't even fake it. They should have hired a British actor.

      Since you have strong feelings about an American in the role, I thought perhaps there was a British actor you would have preferred.
      I loved Redford in the role and I don’t think his being American detracted in any way.
      It’s hard to believe the movie came out in 1985!
      I saw this on a huge screen with surround sound and was thoroughly transported.
      Breathtaking cinematography!

    Meryl is always beautiful, but I believe in this movie, she really is at her MOST BEAUTIFUL....truly, lovely to watch...most stunning...!

    this is my favorite movie, it's a love story and heartache , Redford and Streep just have that umph chemistry. The hair washing scene ........oh my

      @@billurban1581 Yes, whenever I hear the music it touches me in a way that brings so much emotion, felt throughout the movie, rushing into my heart all at once. It soars and it soothes... If that makes any sense.

    I just noticed the dialogue at 1:49 is different than in the movie’s trailer, it misses out "and that you’re alone now"

    Actually, coffee is now grown in Africa, very strong coffee, but the climate or soil in Karen's area was all wrong.

    Alas, time moves ever forward, and it's 2024. The world is a dark place with dark forces and lost lives. 1985 was a good time in life. Too bad it sucks now. Life could be so beautiful if people would return to their regular lives without gadgets and technology. Humans need love and compassion in their truest form.

      There is a scene in the movie where she tells him, and he says that he never catches anything, like he’s invincible. It’s strange, but somehow the movie works. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@AlaskaWRX907it’s actually a true fact that he didn’t get sick, so he didn’t know he had it until she got it and told him. If you’re referring to Dennys, she told him that she had been cured before they were intimate.
