    I remember as a child I was the real I most of the time. In fact the world out there, people, experiences seemed unreal. The only reality was this I. Then the world started to hypnotize me and I forgot my true Self. Now, in my old age , thanks to you I'm practicing to return to my true Being, which was always there. I wonder if most children know reality better than most adults? Thank you Sonny, you are a light in the darkness.

    Your channel is excellently done.
    You are doing well on the path, and all we can do is turn inward.
    Killing the I-thought for good is a herculean task; yet despite not having done this, you are at a powerful state where you can guide people beautifully to the inner treasure.
    I am in a state similar to you. I can glimpse and abide in the Self but I have not fully conquered all attachments and desires, nor do I effortlessly abide in the state of wakeful sleep or asleep wakefulness. I can enter a state of near complete abidance in which I can see if a person has truly become formless or if there are vestiges of the ego mind left behind in their energetic form.
    In addition to the teachers you've referenced, also take a look at Meher Baba. He was the most recent incarnation of the Avatar (the first soul to achieve liberation that comes back age after age as Krishna, Buddha, Rama, Jesus, etc),
    The state of perfect non-duality is infinitely hard to achieve, but becomes possible with grace through a liberated soul.
    And if you are in India, go visit both Arunachala as well as the Samadhi of Meher Baba. Both places glow with the energy of the source.

    What I find may help some is when teachers say things like "if you find yourself thinking etc bring the attention back to the"I" although true the statement is still dual as in the attention and a sense of "I", that can set the attention looking for a sense of "I". The attention is the I, and its self knowing and exponential, it knows that it knows, then if it knows that it knows it must know that it knows that it knows, then know that it know that it knows that it knows etc etc forever. It can't be spoken of or described it's just blank being knowing, the tape that everything recordng on, it's the silence in a recording studio before the singer has started a take, if the silent recording tape hadnt been rolling before the singer nothing would be recorded. It really is that dry and blank don't look for anything at all, dont sit waiting for an experience that will be it, it's the silence that's there waiting for the experience, you can't do it wrong it's always there, it's beyond simple.

      The silence is the I then?

    • @justbreakingballs
      @justbreakingballs Год назад

      @@MsCankersore hey I'm no sage but after yrs of meditating the first few yrs sat there waiting for something to happen I realised I'm there waiting but invisible and unknowable, the knowing that knows, the knowing that anything that did happen would be known by. It can't be described or hold any quality's that could be quantifiable because anything quantifiable would be known by it, you can never get in front of it to see, it can't be heard, it's not that silence is it as that would make silence something but it is silent. It won't ever make a sound or appear or "do" anything. Some beings clearly become deeply deeply aware as this and I think that's what's so called enlightened. The false thought created self is seen through then the awareness seem to become "louder" for them. The phrase silence is deafening sort of points to it too. I once took a low 2g dose of mushrooms and lay alone and after a couple of hrs "I" fell into this state for perhaps 10seconds. It was unbelievable, it was suddenly there. I was it for a few seconds then my mind suddenly rushed back in like a dam bursting shocked and thinking wtf was that I want it again relax what was it etc etc the irony being that state could never appear with the mind waiting there to experience it. That state was unbelievable truly unbelievable but there was nothing at all I could describe about it because there was nothing to describe, nothing of any quality at all no tlbody sensation, no noise, nothing to see, but at the same time it was unmistakable.

    • @justbreakingballs
      @justbreakingballs Год назад

      @@MsCankersore the I definetly does not escape you, it's just there watching that's all. It's what's there when you are just sat in a chair zoned out and someone says snap out of it or let's go and whack you're thinking starts up again like a mouse on a wheel. You cant get it or experience it you are it, just sat there aware. If you look at something and just look without thinking in that moment that's it. Like I say long term so called enlightened people seem to deepen into that silence and their mind stops etc but for you and me we just sit in silence recognising when we are there but no internal talks coming back, you might last 20seconds you might last a minute but that's the start, then the stages of aware silence can become more frequent even if they are not long in duration. The problem is whilst you have the ego entering this practice called meditation hoping for some good results or an amazing enlightening experience it kind of fuels the ego, so meditation stops and the ego fires up asking how it was for it or has it made a difference. That's the thinking mind using the practice that didn't include it asking what's in it for it. Ponder who exactly want to ha e a good meditation or get some benefits from it.

      I can’t believe it but I think I got it. Problem is how do you abide in this awareness all the time? Just not possible. Least that’s what it seems to indicate. I need the mind to get me through the day after all. I’ve tried to do this practice during ordinary things but somethings I can’t help but to let mine take over. Especially with fears. Can really get into that blank state while on a terrace that’s 20 floors, I’ve vertigo. Still, thanks a lot. I’ve been trying to understand this for 3 yrs and some random person in the comments section helped me figure it out

    Still unable to grasp what this I is supposed to feel like. It’s not clear. I just keep thinking and identifying as thoughts as you say. I can’t simply put off the sensations and perceptions etc of things especially the ones that’s are strong like fear or being triggered. If I get triggered over a concept I can’t simply observe it and expect it to be gone. It’s too strong

    • @theoocahain7780
      @theoocahain7780 2 года назад +1

      🙂 Hey, brother; there is No feeling when You are (the "I").
      It is not "this I", as you say...
      as You Are the "I".
      At the 17:17 mark, Sunny says, "The moment you find your attention In what you know, bring it back to the 'I" that knows."
      When you are feeling some Thing, the Thing and feeling are objects (subtle in nature; a thought, feeling, emotion or concept are All objects), You are the Subject of those objects;
      You are observing that feeling. If you put attention on the object you move Away from You ("I"). So, you take your attention and put it on That which Observes the object: You.
      A quick way to be aware of You is from another KILLER Sunny vid. It goes like this:
      "Notice that ... (fill in the blank)."
      "Now, notice the awareness of that ... (fill in the blank)."
      So, next time when meditating, grab that triggering concept that is too strong. Then get the thought you have about the concept ("It triggers me and is too strong..!!!"), AND get how it makes you feel. That is the first step: you've Noticed that thought and emotion (s).
      Then notice the awareness of that thought and emotion(s).
      You should then experience ....?.
      If the thought is too strong and too difficult to use, then
      Notice your hands..
      Then notice the awareness of your hands.
      This should work. This particular vid. of guided meditation of "I" is rather advanced but can be "done".
      Just remember if your attention is on a feeling or thought or concept, it is on an Object.
      That object is being observed by a Subject: You. So, you put the attention on the Observer: You, the "I".

    • @dorianshaffer7120
      @dorianshaffer7120 2 года назад

      Hey thanks for this but that subject, I….it’s unlike anything else so how can you turn attention onto something that’s almost not there to begin with. I’d also have to ask wether this I is even true to begin with because again no matter how many times I become aware of something I can’t find or place the I. It’s elusive, almost to the point of is it really even a thing. I’m noticing my tablet next to me sure and I’m thinking about thinking that I’ve noticed it but that which is supposedly doing the looking isn’t something I can make sense of. I got miffed over a certain thought that came to my mind and noticed my being upset but where or what is this I. Again I can’t feel or see it even though one would say it’s what’s knowing all these words I just typed

    • @theoocahain7780
      @theoocahain7780 2 года назад +1

      @@dorianshaffer7120 🙂 Hey, dude!
      The "I" is not a Thing or an Object. It is not "there" as "I" has no location in space. You refer to "I" as a some thing, and that is incorrect. You can put attention on yourself, though. That's all this is, this process.
      When you become aware of something, your attention is on the Thing, the Object. You want attention on the Subject (You), that Observes the Object.
      When you become aware of something, your attention is on the Thing, the object, not on You, the "I", the Subject, so you are getting further away from You, the "I". When you do this your attention is incorrectly placed; you will Never be aware of "I" as long as you have your attention on a Thing.
      Also, "I" has No location like your tablet does. When you say "can't find or place the "I".. ", that implies the "I" is a Thing (Object") to be found that is outside of You; both these assumptions are incorrect. It appears you think you are this separate sense of self (which is the ego) and the "I" is outside of you; this is not the situation, at all.
      "It's elusive", is just a thought, an object (which is finite), and limits you if you heavily identify with it. You can use that thought to your advantage by noticing it and how it makes you feel.. then noticing the awareness of the thought and how it makes you feel.. that should make you aware of "I".
      Getting miffed and upset is okay; it's part of the process. Keep in mind these are a thought with emotion and are Objects.
      When these "miffed" and "upset" emotions occur, they appear in awareness and You are immediately aware of them. Take the attention off the emotions and put it on That which observes these emotions; the Subject, the "I", You. Everytime a thought or emotion appears, You (the "I") are the Observer or Subject of that which appears. You Were before the object appeared in awareness and will still Be when the object is gone.
      It looks like you think You (the "I") are made of emotions; you're not. The ego is though; just FULL of them. You feel No Thing when You are You.
      "..isnt something I can make sense of.." you're in the mind , the ego, the Land of Objects. The "I" is not Thing or an object.
      " this I", again you imply the "I" is an Object that is outside of you, the "I" is not these things.
      There is no feeling attached to "I" and "I" has no location in space. Your eyes can see everything to be seen, except they cannot see themselves. The tip of your left index finger can touch many things, yet, it cannot touch itself. Same with the "I". You cannot see You (the "I") only be aware of You, the "I".
      So with your tablet, have it next to you and notice where it is.
      Then notice the awareness of the tablet next to you.
      Keep at it. You will be aware of the Real You, the "I".

    • @dorianshaffer7120
      @dorianshaffer7120 2 года назад

      Once more thank you for the help. It’s still not clear to me how I can focus on “awareness”. I can conceptually all that you say but I can’t notice this awareness. It’s not something that makes sense to me. This awareness just seems like another thought like everything else.
      I understand that anything that comes to mind right now is mind and I more or less get that I am aware of all that appears in my mind but to notice that which is doing the noticing makes no sense to me.
      I’m thinking what it must be like to put my hand on a hot stove and have it hurt. I notice the pain and will immediately retract my hand yet how do I or what does it mean to notice that one which is observing all the sensations accompanied with a burning hand.
      I’ve re read over and over your replies and I still can’t make any sense out of how to look at something that isn’t in space and time as you said and has no clear description. How do I see my eyes that can’t see themselves.
      Right now the frustration I feel trying to understand this after years and years comes to mind but how do I become aware of that which is observing that frustration and inbodying it??
      I see nothing or not sure what I’m looking for. Another thought perhaps?

      🙂 You can use the video to your advantage as a gauge as to how well you are directing your attention to You, the I, the Self.
      As you continue to replay it, you should notice your perception of sharpness (that pops you out of it) decrease. You are, at the moment, heavily identifying with a thought that it is "too sharp/unsettling/ jarring". When it happens just realize You are witnessing this thought and reaction and the following "popping out" and turn your awareness back to You (that witnessed this whole sequence of upset).
      Keep at it, you'll get it. This gentleman is a Jedi Master. You found the right being for what you seek. All you have to do now is let go of that desire of what you seek to apply this pointer, as that desire is just another thought for you to identify with, taking you away from You, the Self.
