    When they said she was going crazy, she was awakening.
    When they said that she was isolating, she was healing. When they said she was acting funny, she was growing.
    When they said that she had changed, she was evolving.
    When they said she did not care anymore, she finally realized that her peace lives within.

    The mind seeks, demands, and craves certainty in an uncertain world, there for the mind is condemned to a life of misery. Luckily for us we are not our minds and we are able to Accept what is, Trust what will be and be Grateful for everything without the to know all the answers to all the questions ahead of time, there for we are capable of knowing and enjoying the wonderful peace and happiness that sets us free to enjoy this amazing experience called life on a level that our minds will never be capable of knowing or feeling 🙏🙏🙏🙏. We are not our minds 🙏🙏🙏🙏

    Now that you have taken up residence here in the Fabulous world, carve out time for yourself. Anchor a new habit that validates what solitude can give you. It can be as little as a minute a day.
    Catch your reflection and don’t look away. Notice how you’re feeling. Give yourself a few minutes of self-care, where you sit down and soothe dry skin or think quietly while you fold clothes. Spend time outside without your phone. Is the sky empty of clouds today? Notice which plants are bursting and which are waiting to bloom.
    Tune out everything else and tune into yourself.😊

    Whenever I watch Eckhart’s videos ,, I turn off the volume and turn on the caption. I’m brought to stillness immediately! I hear nothing . My mind hears nothing . The mind sees the words but doesn’t hold on to them . Sometimes,, I write the words down , transcribe on paper what I see . It’s a very calming and powerful experience watching videos this way . I “see” much clearer without hearing the words babbling in my ears .
    🙏🙏🙏 Thank you Eckhart.

    Good morning, Eckhart. Namaste!!
    I just wanted to say thank you for offering your teaching free of cost, not trying to capitalize on hope as so many new age gurus try to do, convincing people that there's a connection between capitalism and spirituality--which there isn't. If anything, they are diametrically opposed.
    "A rich man has less of a chance of entering the kingdom of heaven than a canel has of passing through the eye of a needle.."
    God bless you.

      _"A rich man has less of a chance of entering the kingdom of heaven than a camel has of passing through the eye of a needle."_ FWIW: the google estimates Eckhart's net worth at $70m USD, receives $4m/yr income, and lives in a mansion within an exclusive celebrity neighborhood.
      I agree with you that the free videos are nice. But, there's another way to look at it: recycling old (often very old) talks for clicks/monetization (and as a teaser for paid membership). The reason I think this is potentially troublesome is when you notice how the "call me" guy impersonating Eckhart seems to operate freely. There's no attempt by Eckhart's admin to protect vulnerable fans from predation. Even worse, it's not like the admin would have to slavishly read every comment. It's much, much simpler than that. See one predatory comment, click the user name, go to their "about" tab, click the flag icon, and "block user." Everything disappears from all videos on the channel. It's simple. If the predator gets a new ID, when you see any post, do it again (done). I've never seen that happen. They could even post a pinned comment saying "I will never ask you to call me in the comments below." How simple is that? It's never happened that I've seen.
      Not long ago someone asked if this was really him. 3-4 people said yes (or it's his org), and they benefited from calling. That got me to thinking, maybe it really is "authorized." Maybe he gets a cut of it. That would fit, and would actually be more acceptable than monetizing without concern for his fans. (At best, teacher worship isn't good. It's just another attachment that prevents us from seeing things more realistically.).

    • @RamSamudrala
      @RamSamudrala Год назад

      So how do YOU explain his $70 million net worth? I'm genuinely curious as to what you think in the context of your claim that capitalism and spirituality are diametrically opposed. I am not sure it is possible to earn $70 million the US (and retain it) without practicing capitalism very well. People do win the lottery but they won't claim they're being spiritual when they play it. Regardless of what the truth is, and it doesn't really matter to us, the business of spirituality has been very good to Tolle, as it has been for many other such teachers.

    My experience of stillness is that it allows pain to emerge.

    • @markfuller
      @markfuller Год назад +1

      In my experience, self-talking (the chattering mind, inner narration, compulsively explaining our experience, labeling things/people/experiences) is a way to avoid repressed/dis-integrated pain. We crave & cling to our narration. The fleeting moment shows how impermanent our story to ourselves is. We can accept that reality, or we can turn more to the story to drown out reality. But, that latter option only works for so long. Eventually people can't make it work anymore. Usually old age; it becomes too obvious that it's just a story/distraction. I think of this as a helium-filled party balloon. It's taught and exuberantly buoyant in the beginning. As a couple days pass, helium escapes, and the balloon isn't pressing against the ceiling anymore. Floating near it. A couple more days and it's hovering inches from the floor, reality becoming more inescapable (in the beginning, it was difficult to see reality. "Gravity? What gravity? I'm immune from that stuff! I'm special!" The story works. Hubris is easy. But, eventually "hey, wait a minute... things aren't what I thought they were."
      For me, EFT/Tapping helped. You basically tell yourself (vocally) that "I know what's going on (I;m indiviudating from my thoughts; I'm not my thoughts); that can be destabilizing after practicing ruminating thoughts as an escape from reality (for years/decades). I'll be ok. Like an addict kicking heroin, it will be rough for awhile." That really works. It's based upon the long-proven phenomenon of "auto-suggestion." You're telling your subconscious to move on, stop trying to help you the way it does.

      Love is the only emotion we can feel without the need of thought to provoke it or maintain it,we can explain why we feel angry and what's caused us to be unhappy, we can explain why we feel fantastic and what's happened to make us feel this way, but what words are there to describe unconditional love? I personally don't know any words that i could use that would come even close to doing true justice to the pure emotional feelings of unconditional love i feel. Its awesome, overwhelming and wonderful to say the absolute least 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

In fact, even any bottle of very expensive champagne can do something similar but that wears off even quicker, lol! No doubt the majority of people in this world have never once experienced what you've just described.

      @@robinhood6954 hi Sir Robin of Sherwood 😊, to feel true love for someone we are attracted to is a wonderful powerful emotion that sadly not everyone gets to experience, that overwhelming sense of pure happiness and excitement that just looking at or even thinking about them brings is truly something special to feel and experience and be grateful to know or even have known . But unconditional love now that's a different level completely,, and can be felt for a partner, children, parents, siblings extended family and friends, and no matter what what happens between you or to any of you that love is exactly what it says on the tin, unconditional. Now that's just pure emotion that needs absolutely no thoughts to exist 🙏🙏🙏🙏

    meditation is about being still without falling asleep.
    Being is already here and now. Not becoming still, which implies doing something.
    Becoming is doing and achieving things. Being is being aware of the present moment which is all you ever have.
    Whatever you achieve in the future, it becomes a present moment.
    🦋🦋🦋🐌🐌🐌🌿🌿🌿🌷🌷🌷🐞
    Being aware is noticing it is here. Very simple.
    When you notice, it has the dimensions of object and space/stillness.
    When you notice stillness, you have become still inside, you are conscious, you are not thinking but are alert and present.
    Without the realization, your entire life is a surface phenomenon. There is always something missing.
    You can't find it in the horizontal dimension. Realize that the dimension of stillness is already within you.
    🐌🐌🦆🦅🦆🦅🌹🌻🌹🌻
    Stillness is power, the Source of life.
    Nothing creative can ever come into your life if you are not connected with stillness.
    Whenever you feel joy and love and beauty, it's a moment of stillness and connection.
    Most people don't have enough moments of stillness. It could be much deeper, operating in your life continuously so you never lose touch with stillness.
    First step is to realize that it is always here and now.
    Without stillness, you only have your conceptual mind, judging and interpreting.
    If you relate to others through conceptual mind, there is always judgement, lack and conflict.
    🌻🌻🌻🦋🦋🦋🐞🐞🐞🦅🦅🦅
    Realize that stillness is always here.
    You are never more truly yourself than when you are still (love, joy, peace, freedom, expansion).
    Most people talk about "myself" as their personal history, problems, and life situation

    Accept - then act.
    Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it.
    Always work with it, not against it.
    Make it your friend and ally, not your enemy.
    This will miraculously transform your whole life.

    hey bothers and sisters almost mandatory for this kind of practice to discover what life is all about ...Christians especially ...break out of the box of your thinking and shake hands with Jesus. as a Catholic they call it contemplation practiced for centuries not meant just for monks in monasteries but for us ordinary human beings Psalm 46 BE STILL AND KNOW IAM. and be set free

    This was an interesting set of ideas. I did not find it helpful to listen to while meditating though. There was so many assertions coming in that I found it difficult to find the stillness he was talking about. But after having listened to it, I think I can meditate now.

      IMO, these aren't properly called meditation. They're "pointings" which can be useful for what the experience is, the proportions of self, the implications of not being the thinker (that there is somethign that exists without thought, explanation, labels). But, still, the experience (insight) comes from mindfulness (vipassana) meditation. That is a form of attending to your self in the moment, paying attention to your thoughts arising; how you identify with them; choosing not to do that right now, experiencing what exists before the next/same thought arises. It's not a struggle, it's just observing the thinker. Realizing there's two -- you're not the thinker. That's a a powerful experience that pointings can help a person orient themselves to. But, when the meditation is filled with pointings, it's like opening one's self up to have someone else's experience. Manufacturing (subconsciously) the sensation described, not truly discovering the experience through still insight.
      FWIW: The video "Guided Mindfulness Meditation on the Present Moment. Be Here Now." is what worked for me. It's guided (pointed) to the bare minimum to bring you to the state where you can experience it for yourself. It's not suggestive/explanatory. Maybe that would be a good one for you to try.

      @@markfuller I find this statement puzzling: "Realizing there's two -- you're not the thinker. " Do you mean to say your identity isn't that of the thinker/thinking? The thinking is a part of you, it is one whole, it is the collapse of the illusion that there is duality.

    • @markfuller
      @markfuller Год назад +2

      @@RamSamudrala I wasn't trying to be precise. Often we don't know how familiar the other person is with awakening. Being canonically accurate (what's dual, what isn't; the semantics) may be something they won't understand as well as a casual analogy.
      For me, I think there's plenty of room to say "I'm not the thinker." Thoughts are like projecting an image on the side of a building. Does that make the building part of the image on its surface? Sure, there's _some_ entanglement. But, when the slideshow ends, the building remains. It was something insignificant/ephemeral on the surface.
      To me, individuating from my thoughts (the guided meditation video I referred to) familiarized me to a pure self that is so vastly more permanent/unchanging that it's not the thinker. It exists without thoughts, and even without observing thoughts. It can choose not to think in this moment. (But, sure, it's me thinking at some level. I am that part of me too.).

    • @markfuller
      @markfuller Год назад +1

      @@RamSamudrala Along these lines of semantics (between "what is" and "what I experience"), your conscious mind _emerges_ from the subconscious which is 95% of your brain. The 5% conscious part of the brain rationalizes that it's experiencing everything (that it's not _emerging_ from a vastly larger source behind a veil, often emerging maladaptively, neurotically, disordered, irrationally). It's like the Mr. Magoo cartoons. On its surface, it appears he has a vision problem. But, what's really going on is that he has expectations that reality doesn't conform to -- and he remains faithful to his expectations, in denial of reality. :) That state isn't very much of who he is. All it would take is one small realization (and/or a pair of glasses) to make that state go away. So, is the state him?
      Even more interesting in this perspective: It's been proven (Libet, Dr. David Vago) that our choices occur 1/4- to 1/2-second before our conscious mind believes it made that choice. They emerge into us (just like our thoughts do). There is a part of us that can either go with that (as if "I chose that"), or can pause, consider what's emerging into the conscious mind, and exercise a veto power (not to follow it). Are we that observer? Or, are we the murky brew of subconscious emerging things to a zombie-like conscious entity?
      This is something people really can experience. It's not a philosophy. When you experience it, the awakened you is vastly different than the zombie-like you. The awakened me was always there, but encased in self-generated/emergent "noise" that was mistaken to be reality.
      That's how I see it. But, I can see how there's other perspectives.

      @@markfuller Interesting, and I agree it's tough to discuss with English. Yeah, "I" have a different framework for it but they seem similiar enough: Any creature with a nervous system that regulates the rest of the body, there is a model created of the body in the context of its environment, all its memories which processes inputs, performs simulations with branch points, etc. This includes both conscious and unconscious processes.
      In humans, this model (cartoons of philosophy show this a little hominid controlling the human) becomes confused with being. This model is what we call ego/mind/etc. This model is course of a part of being like our body is, but it is not being. So the possible choices you're referring to could be coming from this model and there is some ultimate arbiter (a meta-model) in play. It's this entity that is aware and the collapse of this illusion (that the model isn't the being, that the map isn't the territory).
      What's more, I don't think there's a singular such internal model per human. There are multiple ones all competing for attention (i.e., there is no singular "ego" per person but rather many egos). All this is a testable hypothesis, if not today, then eventually.
      "I" have not been able to reconcile this with a lot of the experiences from meditation, inward-looking, etc.

    He does realize that once he just brought attention to, named, and described this "no thing" it becomes something. Just because he pauses between words and there is "silence" doesn't mean we have stopped thinking we are processing the silence as we would sound because we are contrast processors. This so called surface level of being is the same processing for existing whether you are thinking about something specific or your attention is focused on the next break in silence or the "contrast" but your still thinking with full attention.

      Well he can't just sit there with no thoughts in absolute silence or else everyone would want their money back, lol!

    • @markfuller
      @markfuller Год назад +1

      @Robert, you're right. But, that's what "pointings" are. That's why I think what Eckhart calls "meditations" aren't. They're a lot of explaining, words, labels. On the one hand they're pointings. Those can be valuable. But, there's so much pointing that it's not really meditation. It's more like trying to absorb/feel his experience (which is not the same as someone finding it in themselves).
      There's a rather famous meme of a zen master with one finger pointed upward. That's supposed to be, "when asked what being in the moment is..." he gestures that way, "there it is. There, again. There." It can't be explained, it just is. It can be discovered. But, most people don't know how to discover it. There's meditation. Then there's pointings. Those aren't the same things.

      being aware of something is not the same as thinking. that is the whole point. being aware of the silence is not the same as thinking about the silence.
