I came to know of Jackson Browne when I was 10 years old (I am now 57). Changed my life and perspective so young. I will forever love the depth of him. And this song... been listening to it (and him) for 47 years and never ceases to melt me completely.

JB was so young when he wrote this epic song. It amazes me that he could write about such deep things at that age ♥️

@official musicmusic Hi there. I wish It was CJB I was speaking with. SMH. 52 yrs now. There is not a day that goes by without you. Took a listen last night, you were playing with Billy Strings. Mannnnn can be play or what. Lead, rhythm and bass all in one. He is really good. You were so cute, you were just watching him with this whimsical look on your face. Very cool!. I'm going to have to go back over that video. I saw Emmylou and another dude, I don't know his name but looked like you guys were having great fun. Do it up as long as you can. I've. Lost so many friends now. There must be one hell of a jam session go n on up there. My hubby is up there also. He joined the ranks 14 years ago. CJB 💜 there isn't anything I Can say about you or for you that hasn't already been spoken. You are just a treasure in my soul, and for that I thank you for allllll our years of meaningful, beautiful, thoughtful, pieces of you 💐 that you choose to share with us. Can't help but wondering so many things about you. Well altho I have many things I would like to ask, I will just ask this one for now. I hope you are working on writing your biography? And what was it like having SRV working in your studio. And just how close to the interstate were you, i think you may call them Hwy. Lol .my last name is McK I follow you in F B. Altho I'm not on there very much. Also id like to know if you and Tim B Schmidt would consider doing something just you two on Vocals. I love Val. He's great. I saw you in November last year in Tampa. You played 70 minutes. Not enough for me.. Anyway......good to hear from you. There should be some kinda way I can tell it's you. Not some secretary or handler filling in for ya. Last week someone told me to write to you western Union??? Be well. I will keep you in my prayers you and your whole family. Do ya have down time. You are always running and jamming here and there, it's like you warned us long ago, what was that? Wake up and do it all over again, Amen! Is there anything you would like to do, but have not yet? Gregg Allman and John Lennon my two favs. John Lennon was killed on Gregg's Birthday, Dec 8th the day John Lennon was killed. What is are the odds? Sucks... I'm sending wonderful vibes. Well wishes and prayers. Have a lovely Holiday season. Love to you from St Pete Florida. Nancy 🎶
This makes me think of my big brother, lost to Covid, lovely guy and great guitar player too. I now own his Takamine, but can't take it out of the case, cos I get too upset 😞
It's all subjective. For everyone who find this beautiful song boring, there are dozens who feel the depths of the lyrics and the beauty of the melody. For me, For A Dancer is a Masterpiece
He puts so much heart and sincerity in this song that he's played live hundreds of times. Very generous of him.

I LOVE Jackson Browne. This may be my favorite song. I had never seen this one. BRAVO!!!!
Lyrics are absolute fire
Keep a fire burning in your eye
Pay attention to the open sky
You never know what will be coming down
I don't remember losing track of you
You were always dancing in and out of view
I must've thought you'd always be around
Always keeping things real by playing the clown
Now you're nowhere to be found
I don't know what happens when people die
Can't seem to grasp it as hard as I try
It's like a song I can hear playing right in my ear
But I can't sing, I can't help listening
And I can't help feeling stupid standing 'round
Crying is they ease you down
'Cause I know that you'd rather we were dancing
Dancing our sorrow away (right on dancing)
No matter what fate chooses to play (there's nothing you can do about it anyway)
Just do the steps that you've been shown
By everyone you've ever known
Until the dance becomes your very own
No matter how close to yours
Another's steps have grown
In the end there is one dance you'll do alone
Keep a fire for the human race
Let your prayers go drifting into space
You never know what will be coming down
Perhaps a better world is drawing near
Just as easily it could all disappear
Along with whatever meaning you might have found
Don't let the uncertainty turn you around
(The world keeps turning around and around) go on and make a joyful sound
Into a dancer you have grown
From a seed somebody else has thrown
Go on ahead and throw some seeds of your own
And somewhere between the time you arrive
And the time you go
May lie a reason you were alive
That you'll never know❤️❤️❤️
Just lost my mom, I’ve played this song a hundred times
James Dupre does a fantastic version
Sorry for your loss…. I’m kinda hoping my kids will play this when I die❤️🩹🦈
Many tears from now.
@@michelleberger2767 thanks… and yes, many years from now.
So sorry for your loss Joe, your mom is dancing in a much better place.

Wow, J B and this wounderful choir. Pure enjoyment!
Into a dancer you have grown
From a seed somebody else has thrown
Go on ahead and throw some seeds of your own
And somewhere between the time you arrive
And the time you go
May lie a reason you were alive
That you'll never know

Wenn ich nicht einschlafen kann, dann lege ich Jackson Brown auf, das klappt, nach 15 Minuten bin ich im Tiefschlaf

Great song of all time. One of the guys in the group must be his brother same look and same hairstyle. 💙💙
