Here's the end of my journey covering the main FromSoft titles, thanks to everyone who's been watching so far... but don't worry, there's still the DLCs to come, and I'll be touching on some different games as well. Oh, and some game called Demon's Souls is coming out at some point apparently so please send me a PS5 thanks
Dude, I still cant accept that you have so few subscribers, also great video, hope you grow up on youtube
*literally kills aldia's brother*
"i wonder why hes attacking me."
I mean yeah, we basically put Vendrick out of his hollowed misery.
Well I think Aldia would be more glad than upset at you for putting Vendrick out of his misery, because ya know, you just put an end to his misery
@@firstnamelastname3173 that was a joke.
"Get some clothes for your customizable Pokemon." You have good taste, sir. I've currently got her dressed in full plate from the Alonne Knights.
Nah, the desert sorceress set is the only one that fits her right.
i gave her the turtle armor because i thought it would look funny, and i was right
Beceause you had too many alonne sets 😂. But yeah, the best is to dress her like those fire witch.
@@genthoti5130 Everyone who ever farmed the Alonne knights can relate to this, myself included :D
I put her in the black leather thief set. It makes her look like a ninja.
DS2 is about memories and how they get mixed up and fade away over time. That's why enemies go extinct, the area transitions make no sense and NG+ is a wildly different experience.
That.. Actually makes things make a lotta sense. Wonder if that was actually intentional or not?
@@drowzydullahan definitely not, they just slapped shit together and called it a day
@@retarddog6505 that's all game development
Npc pokemon. Was perfect
Curse also fits into that explanation very well.
If your imaginary children didn't want leprosy, they shouldn't be picking up all the hypotherical armadillos. It's really their own fault.
Maybe the real Scholar of The First Sin are the friends we made along the way
True that, I made more friends on DSII than any other game.
I'm pretty sure Aldia attacks because you have consumed all of the kings' power and stand right before the end of your journey, so he fights you to test whether or not your character will be able to handle and live through the endings, oh and you never actually kill Aldia, Aldia is invincible, he literally can never die, that's why you don't get any souls from him, he just kinda fucks off at the end of his fight, not die.
well its implied in DS3 that Aldia was the scholar who mentored Lothric (although I'm not sure why Lothric would take advise from a creepy tree monster)
"And ignore everything in the doors of Pharos"
I don't think I've ever heard anything more accurate
Nice video once again, Baron! Not sure if people will agree that it's about laughing at disabled people and collecting children from your local park, but great nonetheless!
But this is comedy
I strangely loved ds2 even with its flaws. It was weirdly balanced and sluggish but after 4 hours of playing through my first time, I got used to it.
But Dark Souls II is actually the best of them: power stancing, choice of path right from the start and Drangleic is quite interesting. Just saying.
The Impossible elevator is the best part of the game. It's hilarious. XD
dude, this is way too funny for you to only have 270 subs. I'll be rooting for you from here on in man!
Thank you! And yeah, these things just take time, unless you get lucky and something goes massively viral
Baron's Castle that’s all you can really hope for if you’re striving for quality over quantity as a small creator. Kudos to you though, your upload schedule is still much better than mine lmao
This video nearly killed me, when he says 'Room full of guys on a hunger strike' at 5:30 and I saw the skeletons I burst out laughing, I was drinking coffee at the time and it went down wrong, I was sick all over the bed and on the floor. I was laughing and being sick at the same time. :) :D
Danm another masterpiece. Keep it up!1
Thank you!!
Had me cracking up lol cant wait to see more
This made me laugh so much thank you XD. Keep up with the good work :)
Glad you found it funny! Thanks a lot for watching :)
Folk from all over the world may say of this whatever they wish, but The Second Kingdom we explore in The Story of Souls, Drangleic, will always be my personal favorite of The Three for a variety of reasons!!! There was a LOT that I enjoyed in Lothric as well, but Drangleic simply has a very special charm to it.
The path to the Old Iron King was my last one, because I didn't knew how to get there and had to see a gameplay.
You've quickly become one of my favorite channels in the past few weeks. Keep on trucking
I love this series! Keep working hard and I have the bell on for your next vid :)
The best compliment I've ever received from a banana
Did you know 4:55 that spider egg sacks carry any where from 25 to 1000 depending on the spider and that blows my mind
I really wish that I was on top of this so I could always be helping others in the game
3:21 - 3:32 is so damn accurate I almost fell of my chair
wish you had more subs. Your humor makes these so easy to watch
For its issues I think DS2 is pretty fantastic from a storytelling perspective.
The cutscenes of "Wrong" had me 💀🤣 everytime!!!
"Foreskin Frog" is canon right?
Head canon lol
And was it "You realize that someone has pulled a sneaky or a stinky on you" ??
Either one I'm fine with 🤣
DS2 is the misunderstood middle child who had the fucking gall to try something different from it's more successful and popular siblings, while also taking some inspiration from their dad, Demon's Souls. It's actually not a bad game on it's own but unfortunately it has to be compared to the other games in the series, so it seen as not as good in comparison. Having defended it though, I'm not playing through it again like I have the other souls games (including Demon's), it's so damn long.
That last point is true, how tf did I just pour 50 hours and still haven't finished the second DLC and the main game wtf
Yo dark souls 2 is my favorite one. I just bought it again at full price for the third time to enjoy it again. Time to bang my head against a wall and cry again. I can't wait
God this is the best commentary in history.
Another great one, poor meat shi- I mean Lucatiel though

I still remember the first time I left the cave into madula, that scene is still beautiful
@@cloroxusthestainlessone4324 Oh absolutely. Ds2 has lots to appreciate.
I actually like it more than dark souls 1.
Fitting that DS2 is the middle child

Love these vids man!
Great Video for a great game.
But why is everybody coming up with the old smough and ornstein quote whenever you have to fight 2 bosses?
Ornstein and Smough are usually considered to be the ideal gank boss fight because of how they function. Since you're outnumbered the game has to give you tools to deal with the number's disadvantage without getting smashed by unavoidable combos, and O&S does that by giving you ways to split them apart, be it with the pillars in the room or the fact Ornstein is way faster and more mobile than Smough, who instead deals more dmg to compensate. Really the mechanics of this fight work wonders to make for a fair gank, while also giving the 2 parts distinct identities as mobs.
Whenever you see a gank fight afterwards, it's hard not to do the comparison, and it misses the mark so often in every game that you get frustrated. Be it the 4 Kings you want to dps asap to avoid the gank, DS2 Gargoyles (again, dps check or get dicked), the fucking DS2 twin cats who are one of the worst offenders if not the absolute worst, Celestial Emissary in BB and Deacons in DS3 who are piss easy despite being numerous, the list goes on.
You could say O&S is the standard quality the community wants to see every time but it just doesn't deliver often.

despite ds2 being my first souls game a little after it came out, i didn't play ds1 until after i beat ds2 and i can still say to this day, ds2s mechanics really made no sense. they had the health reduction from demon souls which kinda made sense but not really. they did have some really unique and awesome things like powerstancing (So excited to see that again in elden ring). but this video still realy didn't explain the whole point of what ds2s plot is.
Ds2 was my first and i loved it. The health reduction is the best imo since it still punishes the player but doesn't take half of your health outright and human effigy's are abundant. I also liked that invaders had similar levels. Than i played demon souls which i also liked. It sucked that if you want white world tendency you had to kill yourself in the nexus but other than that and a few questionable bosses it was pretty good. Than i played darks souls 1 and it was meh. The level design sucked, the master key is broken and shouldn't be in the game, the movement was wack and it had the weakest starting area out of all the soul games. The bosses were good but i could only get myself to play till ng+2 while i got ng+7 both in ds2 and in demon souls.
You say that like the plot is complicated or vague
U ironically DS2 is my favourite of the trilogy... It's a bad game, and I'm desperately aware of that... But it's also a FUN game most of the time
DS2 is my favorite dont @ me
Woah. Let me catch some of dem mons sir
2:57 that's not Father from Fallout 4, that's Father Elijah from Fallout: NV
You wake up in the fingers of twix lol very good
your videos are amazing
I played the entire game and never got to understand the plot. I watched this whole video and still don't understand the plot.
Fucking hilarious! Genius mate.

IMO this is the best dark souls game
haha very funny vid. keep it up
Prime comedy right there
Dude you are a riot
DS1 > DS2 > DS3
that's about right.
It just keeps going...
YOU FORGOT DARKLURKER!
what about the dlc areas
Why doesn’t anyone fight stinky Sif?
Dark Souls 2 is my favorite because what other game has a reverse Meduse at the top of a windmill, guarding an impossible elevator to nowhere that spits you out in a lava-filled castle full of samurai cosplaying weebs ruled by a discount balrog?
"WuHorf" 😊
Is there anything in particular you plan on covering after the DLCs? If not, I would recommend Hollow Knight.
(But you probably shouldn't follow my recommendations)
I've played a little bit of Hollow Knight and it seems very good but I'd wanna get to know it a lot better before tackling it in a video. I've got a few other ideas floating around too, just depends which I get round to first
I wanna play the ds2 starting cutscene, not ds2
wheres gavlan.
6:10 why Mytha has nipples? Did you ever noticed?
I never fought aldia like ever. How do you fight him?
Have the right version of the game
Honestly Dark Souls 2 overall is bad but it has some pretty cool lore and it does tie in with the other Dark Souls games okay. It's just too long winded and the areas are a bit crap. The level design isn't great and the bosses are copy and paste. Yes the copy and paste bosses in the other games are stupid as well.
Its not bad at all. Its a fantastic game. Even if you don't like it if you are not compering it to other souls games, it still is best out of the other titles at the time.
Also it has much better level design both by means of beauty and practicality than ds1.
@@quackatit Your opinion is it's the best but I just don't agree. It is a really good game and I played it loads but I just can't say it's better than Dark Souls 3 or even Dark Souls in some cases.
@@quackatit I don't agree it has better level design practically with Dark Souls 1. It may look nicer because it's newer and some of the levels are really nice, especially the DLC areas but Dartk Souls 1 made its levels fit perfectly together and aside from randomly flying to Anor Londo there's no really confusing areas that make no sense thematically. Where as Dark Souls 2 has an unerground lava place under some poison swamp that made no sense to me.
@@SH3LLHeAD its not the best. I just always place it higher than dark souls 1. Otherwise i like ds3 and Bloodborne more.
ds2 sotfs is best ds
lol seal? pretty sure its a goldfish
Time to get my pineapple juice
This did NOT answer the title question
If dark souls 2 was called anything else but dark souls, it would have been a banger of a game and no one would have bitched.
Broken hitboexes are broken, no matter the name of the game and input lag would be input lag too. Additionally yes, maybe, who knows, because this is second game of the series so it shouldn't spit on the first game. Changes to estus and rolling were really bad.
@@ADAM23795 !?
What are you even talking about! You want to see bad hit boxes in which you take damage despite rolling? Play DS 1 and DS 3, which is even worse. DS 2 has the most accurate boxes of all three games - which does not say much because in all three games the player can role _towards_ an attack without taking damage. That's Dark Souls "awesome" hitboxes and "realistic combat". DS 2 has actual dual wielding, while in DS 1 and 3 your character uses the offhand weapon mainly as a shield. That's not how fighting with sword and dagger worked in history, neither the middle ages nor the renaissance. DS 2 at least has some historically plausible, not correct but plausible, armor and weapons while DS 1 and 3 mix early modern era chavalry armor with so much fantasy you could think it's Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen. - . -
@@ADAM23795 the hit-boxes are not broken, adaptability is what makes it seem that way, because of the delay between updating your position, The hit-boxes are fine, there are modding tools that prove that yet people consistently bitch about it, when hit-boxes are not a problem at all, and they are worse in other souls games, objectively.
@@ADAM23795 I actually like agl. I love that there is no midroll. I bet people are just salty that they didn't understand the significance of agl. Also whats wrong with the estus flask in ds2?
@@quackatit You mean the lack of significance of agl? They tried to balance the game around agl and failed. Right now I don't even remember the values of agl caps and it infulances on roll and drinking estus, but for sure I remember that it is better to just run around and use life gems than invest into agl. I beat the game few times, it was even my first souls game, I tried playing build without adp, tried playing build with adp, not much difference. I prefer ds3 combat as it is aggressive and more dynamic. I have beaten ds2 then bb then ds3 then ds1 then ds2 again and ds2 was the worst of them. Ds2 has it strong aspects and good ideas but overall it feels bad and unpolished to me. Ds1 overall wasn't much better but the start of the game is much better and it leaves stronger impression and dlc is the cherry on the top. Ds2 dlcs on the other hand feels like the worst part of the game.
Better than the actual game. Great vid BTW
Haha thanks, and tbh I didnt rate DS2 highly the first time I played it but after a few more runs through its definitely grown on me a lot, there are elements I wish they'd carried over to 3 (like powerstancing and bonfire ascetics)
yo, ds2 is amazing!
I hate this game and now I want to play it again thanks to this video
The ganks and sluggish mechanics make me want to pull my hair out. It’s a good game but damn it pisses me off more than any other souls game
So... What's it about, anyway?
Really ? thats what this game is all about ? how did i miss that ?
i thought the game is all about me Power Stancing 2 huge clubs and bonking things to death , or use hexes to curse their souls.
Well, when are you gonna tell us what tha hell is DS2 all about? I mean, you just narrated the whole game... I have finished the game a bunch of times... soo... anyhows, cheers!
I dont think it's fair to say everyone hates it because it isnt ds1. I mean yeah it gets more hate than it deserves. It's still a fun adventure game, but the hitboxes are so dogshit and there are so many annoying gimmick levels that it does deserve some of the hate it gets.
Ds2 is hard
LoL
0:17 DS2 bad haha
My opinion ds2 isnt that bad
Purse User
Sounds nice right ....... WRONG!
I was hoping for something to give me a reason to pick this game up again, but no. This by far is the worst game I've played, not because it's difficult or because it's "not Dark Souls 1", but because it's the only game that I have beaten that made me feel less fulfilled than when I started. The game simply has no soul in it (pun not intended), with nothing to offer to the player in closure. The endings of this game sum up the experience well, as regardless of what you do, you just wasted your time coming to Drangleic.
Pretty much the other way around
Same for me after the first run. But I gave it a second shot and it grew on me.
I loved the ending. Imo the game as a whole is better than dark souls one.
The sin o DS2 isn't that it's not ds1 or ds3, it's that OBJECTIVELY, the game Is rather poorly made compared to the others.
sure
Oke, gonna poop on r/darksouls2
Nah
Ds2 is better than 3
At least you can choose your path in DS2. In DS3, despite the pretty graphics, there is only one single way to take and no choice after the final fight. And DS 2 has powerstancing, which the devs forgot about in DS 3.
I think dark souls 2 is fine with its story and world, but the gameplay and agility system severely ruins a lot of the game, as well as certain areas that are worse than every souls game combined… fuckin’ stupid ass fog area… The dragon covenant is the best by far in any game made by fromsoft, no contest. Especially when comparing ds3 dragon covenant, the ds3 one is just… awful.
Did you really just say the major sin of dark souls 2 is that it wasn't dark souls 1 and 3 as in a good game. Like I don't understand your logic here,do you seriously think this game got shat on cause it was different....
It’s no where near as bad as a lot of people make it out to be tbf
Actually yes, that's what he said. I agree with him though. DS II was my first Dark Souls game. DS I was outdated at the time and DS III was not out yet. Than came the remaster and DS III and I dislike them compared to DS II because they are different (no powerstancing, less choice of path, pure fantasy armor sets, enemies always respawning without limit). So I'm sure for someone playing DS I first it was hard to enjoy DS II. Humans tend to believe that what they saw first is the best or more original content even if they are confronted with the chronologically original content.
Example: in my generation many saw the Star Wars prequels and The Clone Wars TV show, while I, as part of a minority in my generation, watched the original trilogy first. Those who watched the prequels first think they are the essence of Star Wars and "good movies" and are bored to death by the original trilogy, while I can't even watch the prequels because they have "nothing to do" with how the characters in there were described in the original trilogy and the whole galaxy "looks almost lorebreakingly different" due to now outdated CGI which was state of the art when the prequels came out, instead of "timeless" special effects the Original Trilogy used. (A real explosion caught on camera will always look realistic, while a CGI explosion looks "fake" after a few years as the industry developes better CGI explosions).
Noone is right, because both trilogies are as they were intended by the creator G. Lucas. Both _are_ Star Wars according to him.
Same goes for Dark Souls: me thinking DS 1 and 3 are mediocre fantasy ripoffs and only Dark Souls II is acceptable is as wrong as "fans" saying that DS 2 is not a true Dark Souls game and the worst of it. It is a true Dark Souls game, as the name already says and it has mechanics in it that the other two games don't have. It was made by the creators of the original and has the name and is set in the same world, just another part of it. XD
Both sides argue based on personal preferences and comparison with what they played first. Let's not act as if there was objective truth in a emotional discussion over a virtual passtime. ;D
@@roffels11-gamingandhistory69 yeah you’re basically right
@@roffels11-gamingandhistory69 well my first dark souls was 2 vanilla and i understood how flawed of a game it was. Having nostalgia shouldn't impact your critical thinking and i agree it has a unique style and dlc was way better then base game.
@@MGrey-qb5xz Humans are very nostalgia driven beings and not very critical in there thinking, unfortunately. What we see and like first always forms and frames our expectations of future events, movies, videogames etc.
About the flaws: I played the scholar of the first sin edition of DS 2 on PC, so I never encountered bugs or technical problems which the "vanilla version" is rumored to have had (to me it's rumors, to you it's actual experience). My first contact with Dark Souls I was a friend's remastered version, which actually looks weird, because some high tectures, models and animations don't fit the old, unpolished environment and unchanged animations... DS 3 on the other is technically speaking flawless. Whether one likes the very linear area connections and the lack of dual wielding, by which I mean power stance animations, is personal preference.
