  • Part 2 of the three-day fishing adventures with ‪@CreekFishingAdventures‬ we decided to go wade a smaller section of river after a long morning in the kayaks. I only took my fanny pack and one ultralight rod. I was able to catch a lot of fished, but honestly, I am still bummed about the one that got away!
    Chasing River Bass With Creek Fishing Adventures: • Chasing River Bass Wit...
    I started with a 1/16oz Workhorse Jig and Green Pumpkin Donkey Tail Jr, and switched to the same Donkey Tail Jr on a 1/32oz Mule Jig after I broke off. Both worked well - the Workhorse Jig allowed me to cover more water, whereas the Mule Jig was more effective in the super shallow stuff.

    Little smallmouth bass on ultralight gear is so much fun! Yes, a 4 or 5lb bass is always a riot, but if you use the proper gear on smaller fish, they can put up an equally good fight. I always have fun when I explore this spot!
    Stay tuned for more videos with John soon :)

    John Dalton has become one of my favorite RUclipsrs. You can't fake genuineness and he just has it in spades. I live in the same area as him and hope to cross paths one day. But also, you're the one that got me into ultralight gear. Hopefully I can utilize both of your knowledge for more tight lines this year. Best of luck to you both and God bless.

    Well I'm definitely enjoying yals trips together so far and im looking forward to the next vids in this series. Those smallies looked like a blast on the ultralight. On a side note I caught my biggest smallie of the trip yesterday in a creek on a trout magnet and 2 lb test. It jumped several times and didn't break me off. Its weird how tiny lures can catch even bigger fish. 👊👍

    A little back seat fishing for you. You should have tightened up that drag more when he got near the brush. I would rather control a big smallie a little more and risk snapping due to tension than having the line rub on brush. That’s a heart breaker! Great video by the way!

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  2 года назад +1

      Shoulda coulda woulda! I didn't realize the brush was so thick down there and then boom he buried me. It all happens quite fast, and when you're using an ultralight power rod and light line, it is never easy to know the best thing to do!

    Watch a bunch of your videos this month and you inspired me to get into ultra light fishing. I got the temple fork rod you tried and went out with the kids for the first time tonight. Caught 2 dinky bass but it was so much fun! Also got some mule jigs & plastic from you. It is what did the trick. So thank you. Now I just need to practice casting with braid and fluro lead so the lead doesn't constantly tangle on the reel. So thanks for the videos and making fishing from shore with my kids fun for me again.

      @@FishAnything Braid is 6lb suffix and the fluro from Yo-zuri. Was kind of limited in what I could find in stock. I'm also using a small shakesphere reel since I had it available already. I think it may be too small of a diameter, but getting a new reel has to wait for $$ to be available

    Hey is 10lb braid overkill? The one I’ve got has the same line diameter as 4lb mono and I plan to have a 6lb mono leader tied on. Obviously 10lb is probably not ideal but it was the lightest I could find to try and it wasn’t expensive and I brand i trust.

    • @FishAnything

      You are totally fine with 10lb braid. I do think it is probably more than you need, but it should still perform well for you. The 6lb will likely cast farther with tiny lures, but the 10lb should still handle them decent.
