Slane is my go to, every day, Irish Whiskey. Love the flavor--much more distinct than any other budget Irish Whiskey I've had. And the price is very reasonable here in Idaho, US. From my first sip of Slane a couple of years ago, it reminded me of a muted Redbreast (one of my favorites as well) which is how I often describe it to people. Very cool when you mentioned the same thing. :)
Hi john just bought this in SuperValu for an incredible price of 25 euro checked your review before I bought it and yes top of the pops you are spot on saw Connemara peat Whiskey also on offer do you recommend thanks
Sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
@Morgan Stanley thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hi John. Honoured to be the first ‘viewer choice’ and so pleased you enjoyed it. Completely agree it’s a sipping whiskey (I rarely poison my drink with water or anything else!). In that respect it’s a very dangerous bottle as you always want just one more! Blown away by your review and having had a cask strength Glengoyne (which was magnificent!) I completely agree with wanting to see a cask strength edition of this!! Loving both channels! May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live.
@@thewhiskeyshed.4105 👍🏻 mind you... if you like the Christmas Pudding taste you need to try Tamnavulin www.amazon.co.uk/Tamnavulin-Speyside-Single-Scotch-Whisky/dp/B01MXU6WV9/ref=nodl_
I was able to get this at $16 USD / 750ml at Costco in Mountain View, California; yeah, that's worth it. I compared it head-to-head with the Jameson Black Barrel, and I prefer the Jameson because of a longer finish, and a slightly more mature flavor. I also like Redbreast 12 as my favorite, but that's a $50 USD 12 years old, so it isn't a fair comparison. But really, the Slane holds up pretty well.
I found this whiskey before I found your video! Absolutely loved it. Completely agree that it has very similar flavors to Redbreast albeit not quite as complex or saturated.
great review, i feel like it's a Whiskey you can share with anyone and they'll enjoy it. what it lacks in complexity it makes up in delicious drinkability. nothing really wow's me but i can't help but continue to drink it. i compare it to when you grab a piece of candy from the candy dish thinking you will grab one but you keep reaching until its gone. This whiskey is a tease, has wonderful taste but faint.

Good budget whisky. In the US it 30 dollars. I will have to try some. Thanks for the introduction to Slane
Let me know what you think of it.
Just bought a bottle today, and love it. Definitely taste caramel/vanilla and cotton candy. Very easy drinking. Smooth….
Glad you enjoy it!

Just subbed. Greetings from Maine, USA! Keep up the great work. I’m looking forward to more of your whisk(e)y vids.

It’s a very smooth , tasty, easy drinking whiskey . Would never ruin it by by adding water. Bought a bottle of cask strength in Sydney airport 👌
Just got this today and poured over ice.... Ohhhhh yeah! I love it, glad the guy at the store recommended I try it.
Sounds nice John :)

Blind tasting with this and Powers Gold? Maybe throw in Jameson to make three?
How does this compare to Tullimore dew as a budget?
Thank you for this video, it is very useful thanks also for introducing this kind of solid whiskey.

For 16 bucks its a good whiskey
great vid, apparently a few drops of water can actually enhance the flavours
Picked up a bottle this last weekend, it will be joining my regulars.
Its pretty good for the price
I've been going back and forth debating which Irish whiskey I was going to get for my home bar. This really helped me settle things. Thanks!
No problem 👍

One of my favourite budgets whiskies. Liquid spongecake with jam and whipped cream. Dying to see some more premium stuff they might produce.
Yeah me too
This video is very useful for people who are interested in this field and who are not sure what to choose
Glad it was helpful
Is there really a bad night for drinking whiskey? Lol
nope!
The great video
Thanks!
