It angers me when people put on religion to look good while lacking any character at all. As a Christian myself the Bible says all childredn are a gift from God regardless of gender. From this we can take that the grandparents did their best it's just that their daughter(OP's mother) is the one who went wrong and adopted misogyny in raising her daughters with the guy she married. These people are no better than the Pharisees Jesus rebuked multiple times for only looking good in public while being horrible people at home. May OP's sister stand her ground and keep them out of her life especially when she and her husband have kids because I guarantee they'll try worming they way into her life. They will definitely cause issues by favoring grandsons over granddaughters.

In a way I was hoping the parents attended the wedding so the Sister could give a toast to the grandpa and older sister and out how horrible the parents were towards them so the entire family knows how horrible they were.
The parents' actions also alienated the son from his sisters. The OP does not mention he was even invited or attended the wedding. The brother grew up to be a narcissist himself, and the parents will die alone for it.

Found the atheist
@@AlphagonOmegariushey, I agree with him and I’m religious. There’s a lot of fxckheads that use their religion as an excuse to be extremely pathetic excuses of humans. This isn’t something new and you don’t have to be an atheist to know or believe it.
It never fails!
Main problem was them keeping up appearances, very like openly religious for that same reason.
A Dawkins radical
The grandpa just makes my heart warm. Hes sounds like such a loving person
I actually teared up.
This is why religious conservatism cooks the brain. They valued their social standing within their tribe over their own daughters.
Your parents are real ah thank God my parents treat both me and my sister equally and with love and care
It's nice to know that there is a storie where one is not alone in all of it.
Imagine the embarrassment the grandparents had knowing that their own daughter was so male oriented even though it obviously didn't come from them.
Being the oldest middle and baby all in a nutshell
The first baby is the test baby
Second most often forgotten/hardly ever seen
Last child always gets what they want and never have any type of punishment
It’s a sad but true point
My advice to parents. Doesn’t matter if your child is a boy or a girl or whatever you love them unconditionally
Damn dude that's deep, how'd you come up with that
@@bigbleeg That’s just common sense. Parents who treat their child like garbage because of their gender or any other reason shouldn't be parents at all. If they try to be the "parent" again when their child becomes successful in any way, will be met with the consequences of their actions.
@@yosh7723 damn dude that's deep, how'd you come up with that

I’m sure my dad would have loved to have a son. But by child #3(5 years after me), my dad was hoping for another daughter! He had waaaay more pros for another girl then adding a boy to the mix. None of us are married yet but the oldest is looking to get engaged this year so wedding planning is still a bit away for talks
Its a miracle they are invited at all tbh. Personally I wouldn't want them there at all. They weren't present for her whole life and now they have demands about her wedding? No way.
Ugh, those parents are AWFUL, so glad they had granddad and each other...and that sister's fiance had a strong shiny spine, supporting her. I wonder how much of it had to do with the father's religion, since Grandfather seems the total opposite of his misogynist son-in-law🤔🤷♀️The parents obviously care more about their public image than their actual children, sad. Let's hope that the brother will end up marrying a no-nonsense type who will keep them away from any grandchildren, nobody needs that toxicity in their lives and maybe then, once they are left all alone, they'll realise that you reap what you sow
I genuinely want to cry now 😅 it’s a beautiful story that reminds me of my own grandparents who I felt the same way about, a super strong bond.
I’m the oldest of my siblings and i was also treated the worst. We’re three brothers, myself 29, my other brothers 27 and 14.
I can’t find it in me to be jealous or resentful towards my youngest brother, although I can clearly see he is being raised with more love and affection than I ever was. That because I realize that when my parents had me they were just kids themselves, atleast mentally, and that they were fully unprepared to deal with adult life.
I think a lot of people making these Reddit posts would benefit from considering their parents own experience
That doesn't excuse the fact that the parents very obviously favored their son over their daughters. Did you not pay any attention to the fact that the parents only wanted sons and even yelled at their daughters telling them they were mistakes who should have never been born. This situation is very different from your family's situation these parents didn't care about their daughters. They only wanted to be in the wedding so they'd look good in public.
@@jjjakumbbs1043 I wasn’t talking about this video, just videos like this in general. Most of the time these Reddit stories are fake altogether or a highly version of events
I’m also the oldest and my mom had me as a teenager at the end of the day it’s not an excuse to be a shitty parent there’s a difference between not being ready and being scared and straight up being nasty and not loving your child
This story towards the end had me thinking about my grandpa and had me crying. He is technically alive, but has alzheimers and is more a husk now. I miss my grandpa every day and want to go out to breakfast wtih him one more time while he tells me his 3 favorite stories all over again. He was my friend and a rock for me when I needed one. I have only seen him one time while he's been at the home hes in now. I could only be there for 20 minutes and left in tears. The moment I walked in, he smiled then had a look of who are you and and confusion. The moment I realized he had no idea who I was destroyed me.
It is not a right it is a privilege to walk your daughter down the aisle, he gave up that right plain and simple.
i love that grandpa?? tell me someone gives him hugs every day
Reminder, the dad title is earned, and that grandfather is her father whether the bio sperm donor likes it or not
This is the sweetest story ever.
It's not about being religious it's about being a good parent and they failed abysmally at that task.
May OP's sister stand her ground and keep them out of her life especially when she and her husband have kids because I guarantee they'll try worming they way into her life. They will definitely cause issues by favoring grandsons over granddaughters.
It's kind of sad that the brother couldn't feel that kind of love as well ... Parents must be pressing him to now be perfect ... But i find the two sisters very strong willed !
I’m sorry for your loss for your grandmother passing :(
They could have had what they had wished from a son if they didn’t abuse their daughters 💀
Read this title and thought my sister wrote this lol. I had my grandpa walk me down the aisle too
i hope for the sak that when they have kids these people are not going to ruin it
This is so wholesome bro 😭😭
how worthless of a parent do you have to be for YOUR parents are better parents than you for YOUR child smh
This story made me teary eyed at the last update 🥹
When the parents were pleading it’s tradition that the father walk the daughter down the isle, I was wishing she could have said,
“and its tradition that parents love, care and nurture for their children, yet here we are”
The rare time where the event shown in the title is a good thing
OP is an absolute W SISTER!!!!!
Can't stand these types of Hypocritical parents they want to do nothing to properly take care of their children and be there for them but then they think they are entitled to deserve to be involved in their children's milestones. In a way I was hoping the parents attended the wedding so the Sister could give a toast to the grandpa and older sister and out how horrible the parents were towards them so the entire family knows how horrible they were.
This is my 2nd favorite story
The parents' actions also alienated the son from his sisters. The OP does not mention he was even invited or attended the wedding. The brother grew up to be a narcissist himself, and the parents will die alone for it.
One the best I seen for a long time from this channel love it
I hope that OP and her sister are having a better life away from their parents and I hope the brother can also deal with the parents’ bs ❤
Im only 3min in, but their parents did neither girl justice... at least she was set up to win.. but sister was set up for failure until the brother was born... he eventually got the worst of it. Worshipping your kids like that, will never turn out good.
I wonder how to brother reacted to the wedding and if he attended
Imagine having to explain this to God, as in the parents' standpoint.
The parents are awful, at least they didn't care to safe face by attending the wedding, happy to hear that they were blocked everywhere, clearly they are not family
TW: swearing
"My parent's couldn't fathom why my sister wouldn't let our father walk her down the aisle"
Me af: "WELL WHEN YOU TREAT YOUR CHILDREN LIKE SH-T THEIR ENTIRE LIVES THEN WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY PICK YOU!"
Its always “gods plan” until god gives them something they dont want
She makes a point to acknowledge that her parents treatment of her sister (before the brother came) wouldn't change her behaviour towards her and she'd try foster a great sisterly relationship - she doesn't mention doing that with her brother at all. It seems like he was destined to be the golden child before he was even born because he was a boy but he'd also be resented by his sister because he was a boy.
Who writes like this..? I get some of it but.. come on.
"and Robert, sensing the tension, tried to keep the conversation light"
"The clarity and strength of Robert's words likely sent shockwaves through our dad"
"He gazed at us, his eyes filled with curiosity and warmth"
It’s ai bro
@@itsjusthusk3877 Yeah that is the point I was making.
They can walk their son down the aisle. They're lucky they're invited.
It's not called religion, it's called abuse or toxic tradition.
*_L!Parents_** made their own bed, NOW they must lie in it !!!*
I cried during this relizing how lucky u am to have amazing parents that will be with me through all of achievements and milestones and how I am such a pain sometimes. (God I hate emotions im crying again)
The older sister is basically like my older sister
Makes daughter do a ton of random extra curriculars.
Wants her to have less smarts.
These old coots remind me of mine, they sound lovely.
My father wanted a boy. My elder sister was born first. She is his most loved child. Gender means nothing when you actually love your own blood.
Did the brother attend the wedding
I feel really happy for the sisters personally, after having so much neglect and trauma from their parents and the grandparents are a W. (Like if you agree)
I hate people like that, I feel so sorry for the guy. 😢
Parents are narcissists, caring for thier reputation than thier own daughters
If you are, for some reason, completely unablr to treat ALL of your children equally and fairly, you should NOT have kids. PERIOD.
if he wanted to walk her down the aisle maybe he should have acted like a dad
I would never have answered when they started blowing up the phone.
OP is not the ass here for telling “ the truth” as of the tradition, the granpa practically is the father 😂
Where were the relatives that are pressuring the sister when the parents neglected the girls?
