I’m planning on building a variable pitch quad opted and I’m using a cube orange. Will I be able to configure it through ardupilot. I’m using 4 brushless motors each with a servo that controls the pitch hub. Will I be able to configure it through autopilot? Thanks love the vids and will definitely keep up with this series.

    Hi,
Thank you soo much for making this amazing detailed series. Highly appreciate it.
I just got my cube orange and herelink and I can't wait to create a build and get it flying.
However I was just wondering that why is the power brick rated only to 30A continuous? Is it because of copper thickness limitation of the power module or what? Because 30A is way too less for larger builds like x8.. Is it possible that if I fill the copper traces of the power brick with solder, then I can get 70A continuous? Or am I missing something here?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Could you cover adding an optical flow for better position hold? Although looking at the price for a PX4_flow sensor on amazon, I was shocked! The MUCH better RTK GPS receivers (like the sparkfun board) now offer nearly millimeter accuracy!

    • @power-max
      @power-max 4 года назад

RTK GPS modules are around $100 to $250, as the actual chip itself that does the magic costs around $80.

Does it matter if I install the firmware with quadcopter logo on it or hexacopter on it? They all seem to be Copter 4.0.3. I'm asking to see weather I need to reinstall the firmware when I switch from a hexacopter to quadcopter. Old versions are labeled differently these seems to be the same.

You are doing a compass calibration. Three check-box checked. Use this compass #1, #2 & #3. In the Onboard Mag Calibration only two of the mag calibrations have a progressive green bar indicator. What happened to the third? And you also have the #2 compass marked at being externally mounted. Could you or someone explain what is going on here? I have been wondering what is up with the Cube and it's compasses. I have been trying to get mine calibrated. I didn't think any where externally mounted.
I have to say that as of today I have but the Cube Black to rest. Worse FC i have every had. I would be lucky if I have had more than 10 flights with it in a model. Constantly had troubles with it. Mainly the compass and the gps.
I have a Kore Carrier Board which i thought would make things better. I want to purchase a Here 3 and a new Cube but based on the Nothing-But-Trouble I've had with the Cube I just don't know if I should. But I probably will.
Has anyone else had any luck using the Cube? I'd like to know your experience.

In MP, I went Params and Can_SLAN_CPORT and set to 1 or first driver. However, when I go to UAVCAN and select SLCAN Mode 1 it does not connect. The whole time my puck has a nice teal blue LED. Can anyone help me on this idea: I want a slow, stable, quiet multi-rotor, "cine" platform.
    But even more quiet.
    And even more slow.
And even more must be under 250g....for the bureaucratic ramifications...
I would like it to be quiet, but maybe also tuned to certain frequencies that blend in with everyday life...lawn mowers and leafblowers and weed whackers....

    • @Painless360

    • @ColinMill1

Hi - I have a spreadsheet here that I use for prop/motor performance calculations and it suggests that a 2-blade 6 x 4 prop with an effective blade chord of 14mm (sorry for the mix of units!) turning at 5900 rpm will give a hover thrust of 70 grams with the blade Cl at about 0.7 so not too close to the stall for the use of about 3.7 watts at the shaft (obviously subject to losses in the motor/esc when sizing the battery etc). A 7x4 (of the same chord) at 5000 rpm achieves the same thrust for about 3.3 watts at the shaft and at a Cl of about 0.62 so should be even better. Seems as if you need to find some suitably low kv motors with perhaps a 10 watt capability. My slight experience of sub 250 is to make a soarer of 1400mm span and doing a very careful weight budget seems to be the trick - my estimate was 230g and it came out at 238g thanks to not allowing enough for the glue! I think you need to aim for 220 grams and hope you don't miss by too much. Good luck!
These guys may be able to help with the motors:-
