Hello. could you kindly tell me if there is a way to adjust dead band like there is in betaflight. I've been discouraged from using my APM because of drifting and I know it could be corrected but no matter how much research I do I can't find a way to set dead band in mission planner

i have tried using the external compass same like yours and calibrated it before flying. but the issue is that the the drone follows plus configuration when flying even though i selected x frametype. is there any physical orientation to follow when installing this? and also any other changes to be done on FC as i heard some ppl say to play with jumper J2

Values need not be similar, it changes. But steps you follow should be same

Installed 3.2.1 which picks automatically avilable as latest version.
Compass is calibrated.
Checked both enabling and disabling Geo fencing

Why are we calibrating esc both with receiver and flight controller ?
Calibrations give perfect timing and it must work same speed and time with other escs.so they trained individually
After arming i am seeing failsafe message below armed message. Also in the battery failsafe option dropdown doesnt have any option. Radio has options

thats an awsome thing. my question: ardupilot wiki says to do the tuning part before first flight. but ur quad still seems so stable without tuning and also with default params....how come, even indoors? did you miss to show something? i also have same setup but in my case the quad leaves ground at 3% throttle (it should be around 50%) and also it drifts to one direction and not straight up like yours. im using 8038 props, 980kv motors and 1300mah 3s lipo and same simonk ESCs you are using

You can calibrate them all together fr9m the power distribution board, not necessary to do it separately.
No problem even if you have soldered,
Just use one ESC signal wires to Transmitter 3rd channel and calibrate one by one

I build a drone for myself, but no matter how much I calibrate the arducopter board, when I start flying and give the gas, the rear engines of the drone take off and start somersaults. When I close the flight and connect it to the computer again, the calibration changes. How can I find a solution? I would be glad if you help.

This might be because of,
1. Wrong propeller or motor spinning direction/wrong motor layout - this things I have already explained in the same part2 video at the end. Verify once

What version of Windows is on your computer? I am using a Windows 11 laptop and cannot see the list of COM ports in device manager.
Windows 10, but is should not matter on COM ports.

@@techathome I have given up trying to use Windows 10. I even installed a virtual XP windows but that failed too as I cannot access the USB port. Turns out that I cannot configure my Tarot gimbal either because their configuration app on the supplied dongle hasn’t been updated since 2012. So I need an XP machine for both. I am hoping that as soon as I get the firmware installed on my APM and configure the IMU I can do the rest using a later version of M.P. On my windows 11 laptop wirelessly via telemetry communications.

Power module is used as regulated power supply
To convert 12v from lipo battery to 5v needed for APM
You can also power ur APM using ESC without even using power module.

I cut and soldered my esc wire to board before calibrating. Any other way to calibrate esc
No problem, Connect your power distribution board to battery, but single ESC to your Receiver
Repeat the same for all ESC'S
@@techathome my battery was sparking every time i connected it to apm power module, after a few times one esc burned out. I removed that one esc and kept 3 as it is, now when i connect battery there is no sparking. was the esc faulty from the beginning thats why battery sparking or did i do something wrong ?
also i have removed the red wire from esc as i am using apm power module and removed jumper JP 1. do i need the red wire when calibrating ?

_Battery voltage, u have to check regularly,
_When not in use , for storing the battery, total voltage should be around 11.7 v
_ While using, In each cell, voltage should not be reduced below 3.5v
It will swollen the battery
If battery is swollen very much, don't use that, it's dangerous

Error is :
Failed to download new firmware: System Argument exception : The Port name cannot be empty.
Parameter name : Portname

In the Radio calibration, check whether channel 4 is present for rudder stick (stick used to arm)
Also , arming issue happens sometimes, if the GPS doesn't get satellite connection.
Try taking it to different place.

When I do live compass calibration the white dots don't appear.
That means, your board is not having inbuilt compass.
Connect the external compass that comes with GPS module and check mark on external compass option .
