I literally started crying as soon as I heard the news. Someone thought I had heard bad news and I had to tell them they are tears of happiness. What are the odds I was just watching Jafaar Jackson's 'Got Me Singing' last night. As someone from his age group I feel so moved he is going to be the one to bring Michael to life. I have been disappointed many times in previous Michael films and something in my heart tells me he is going to be the one. Something tells me he is going to give us a 'Wylie Draper' feel from Jacksons: An American Dream- the only film on Michael I have been happy with. I am counting down the days until the biopic
As someone who grew up watching Michael Jackson (I'm 56) I was ESTATIC with this news. Jaafar sounds and looks like his uncle. The first time I heard him sing I cried. The first time I noticed how much he looks like Michael...down to the mole on his face (Michael had it as a kid) I cried. Words cannot express how happy I am! This will be Epic!
I JUST found out right now and I am crying! I have loved Michael since I was a toddler. My mom has home videos of me in the early 80s with my Michael Jackson microphone, singing and dancing to his songs. I am absolutely ecstatic that Jaafar is playing him. A better choice couldn't have been made. His voice is so much like Michael's it's almost scary. He is going to do an amazing job. I cannot wait to watch this!

Personally I only think Ray and La Bamba were great. Honorable mentions were Whats love got to do with it, The Five Heartbeats and the Doors. Other than that they’re very cookie cutter films. I didn’t even watch the new Elvis movie and I have HBO Max. I’ve seen enough of tv movies of Elvis.
This movie should just be like some musical with Mikes great moments. Drug use and the other stuff would require a great actor to take that on.
@@johnny6610 no it absolutely needs to address everything. The estate wouldn’t be doing it otherwise. This is their chance to tell the real truth to an enormous worldwide audience, and Michael’s music catalog is going to get an incredible jolt of interest from it as well. The biopic will get him back in good graces with a majority of the public, especially those that believed any of what the hbo nonsense was putting forth.
Michael will be so proud of his nephew I can't wait to the see the movie and oscar for it.

Ever since I seen the way he sings and moves. I knew that Jaafar was going to go places. But no one could ever predict that this is one way for him to do it. That is major and I am proud that Jaafar is the one to do this. There is no one better to do it than this guy. However, my only critique is how is his acting? That remains to be seen. If the actor who played Michael in Jacksons: American Dream (who I believe was new to acting in his time) is anything to go by, I am sure Jaafar is gonna knock it out of the park.

Jaafar is blessed with firsthand knowledge of his uncle. John Branca (executor of Michael's estate) said they have been working diligently with Jaafar over the past six months. If Jaafar couldn't pull this off I'm sure he would not have been chosen. Prince and Katherine have both stated that Jaafar naturally embodies Michael. Taj Jackson said he saw Jaafar in makeup for this film and cried tears of joy because he was no longer looking at his cousin but his uncle Michael. I have high hopes and am not worried at all.
The acting will fall in place.
I sure with the training and coaching his getting he'll be alright, there's a lot banking on this project, and resources along with funding will not be an issue.

The producers don't seem to be trying to portray MJ's inner life, his conflicts, and how he overcomes them. MJ's smile makes people smile. no one can play him. I prefer documentaries.

This boy legit sounds like MJ
Say what you want about the Jackson's, however this family understands show business. This is how you do a biopic of a person who is no longer living. You involve the family, and when I say family I mean parents, siblings, cousins, neices & nephews. That is how you achieve something that is a close resemblence to reality.
This does not feel like a cash grab, which as a viewer impacts my desire to part with my own money and support it. Unlike some other poorly run estates of megastar's, we haven’t been oversatuated with MJ films, docs or other stuff.
As a result, as a fan I'm excited about this project! Also congratulations to Jaffar! He resembles Michael circa off the wall & Thriller (those Jackson genes are incredible!). I really hope that he is a talented actor as if done properly there is potential for it to get the kind of oscar buzz that the Elvis movie has.
