I already have a hamster :) I didn’t know a lot about hamsters the day I got him, since I was at my cousins birthday party, and saw her hamster which was in a small cage with no toys, and no human to interact with. I offered to adopt him, so I used the whole night at their place researching, and convincing my parents. Hi Victoria, I was wondering if you think that you can make a video about how to move your hamster to a bigger cage since I don’t know how because she seams stressed! Thank you for the time (if you read this) but I’m looking for advice from a person who knows a lot about hamsters!! Bye
Loved the vid! I adopted a Syrian hamster just over a month ago, but he’s absolutely terrified of everything. He run away as soon as we enter the room or a light turns on. On the odd occasion he does stay out when i enter the room, normally after 1am, he will take and pouch treats from me but then as soon as he got a few treats he will run down his burrow and not come back out till he knows we are 100% gone, as in he won’t come out for a good hour or so. Any tips to help reduce his fear and help bond? I’ve done the tissue paper with my scent on but it doesn’t seem to of helped☹️ I managed to get him out twice for bath time bonding and once free roaming but each time he just hid in a corner x
@Augie the Hamster Hello! Thank you! I’m glad to hear this isn’t just my hamster! As long as he’s okay I’m glad, I was just worried that it was causing him stress. I don’t want to force a relationship with him, if he is a ghost hamster that’s okay, I just don’t want to stress him out or for something else to be causing this! But I’m glad that you managed to be able to pet yours. On the odd occasion he is out, he will take a couple of snacks and he will let me stroke him gently which he doesn’t seem to mind which is good. However I have noticed some night he doesn’t use his wheel, he has a 12 inch wheel but as I’m not able to be in the room while he does use it I’m unsure as to if there could be a problem when he runs on it as in it could be wobbling or something (it spins fine with my fingers however with him in there it could be different)
Yess it’s okay, my first Syrian was a girl very friendly and loved to come come out and hangout with me but my current boy and he is more independent and I respect it, he loves to have treats from me and is curious.
I wish I'd seen this before getting a hamster. Although I love playing with her, and she has a huge cage and happy life I think I should have thought the cons so I wouldn't be surprised when she annoyed me or stressed me out to the point of me crying. I hope that if you are thinking about getting a hamster and come across this comment, you will think about it properly. Disclaimer: I love my hammy very much and she does play. Personally I have no regrets but for example people like my brother had to give me his since he was neglecting it. The hamster is a lot more social and happy now that he is with me.
@@pinknintendoswitch5907 once my friend was at my house for the night. I accidentally left my hamsters(Gizmo's) cage open since she had two trapdoors and I only managed to remember to close the bigger one. After a while I still hadn't calmed down and was watching my phone for the whole night whilst my friend and sister were playing. She has escaped many times too and had to have over 3 cages since when she's managed to escape she can do it again really easily.

I cry every time i see her biting the bars. What should i do. Pls help me save Luna.
Hi, great video as ever. I'm lucky with my George because he is the tamest hamster I've ever owned and he likes human interaction. I typically leave him alone during the day to do his own thing, sleeping, eating etc. Sometimes he doesn't want to be disturbed which is why I leave him to his own devices in the day while checking to see if he is ok. Then at night is when I get to interact with him as he is more self aware and awake. He comes up to see me and I get him out in my hands for a bit. It's a shame to see people treat hamsters poorly sometimes especially when you've been a hamster owner for a few years like you and me. I look forward to your next video. ☺️
Thank you so much for spreading awareness about hamster care ❤️ my two syrians passed away due to water contamination in our home, they lived happily thanks to you. But now, their brother Hazel is alive and well so I will do everything in my power to keep him happy ❤️

THEY DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT THERE DOING so anybody who’s seeing this watch Victoria Rachel and you will find out info that’s what I told my cuz rn and he said he’s gonna be watching her tmr!!🐹 SOO Ty for your help letting people know what the proper care is!
Amazing video, Victoria. This really helped me learn some new information that I didn’t already know. I made a few mistakes when I first got my hamster, Toffee. I got her a small cage, really unhealthy food, and unfortunately, took her wheel out on a night. I also made the mistake of having her in my bedroom, even though I was warned multiple times that she would be too noisy. Honestly, I feel really bad for how I treated my hamster. And it’s really lucky that I found your channel. Because a couple months ago I got Toffee a HUGE bin cage. And thanks to my sisters friend, Toffee now has a healthy diet made mainly of bird food. My sisters friend is an absolute expert with hamsters. She also has her wheel in on the night. But I couldn’t have learnt half of this information without finding your channel, so thank you. I mean it. Your channel has helped me so much with Toffee and I’m so happy that Toffee is now living a happy life, like she deserves. So thank you Victoria.
I want a hamster and I’ve been obtaining safe suplies for over a year now. When I move in with my boyfriend in a month, I’m gonna buy the enclosure and set it up. Then I’ll see what more I need and once the set up is done, I’m gonna find a hamster to adopt. I’ve wanted this for a while but now the time is almost right

my hamster passed away April 13th of this year. I’ve had him for so long and I miss him 🥺😭 he had a 50 gallon tank with lots of bedding and he always made a burrow with a food space a sleeping space and a poop space. i miss his little face 😞
My mom wanted something to take care of, we had a guinea pig but she gave him away to a trusted, loving home because he, and I quote from her word by word, "pooped too much, the poo was everywhere." She wanted a hamster because she thought they were cute, I warned her, "Mama, we can't buy an animal just because they're cute." She bought the hamster anyways. The store lady sold us a bad cage, I told her, "Mama, that cage won't work for the hamster. It's too small!" It's fine, she said. 1 day later after buying him, he escapes from the cage. I went looking for a bigger aquarium cage and sought this as an opportunity to buy the hamster more toys, buy a bigger cage, and spoil him. :) The only thing is, I bought food from the pet store and it doesn't meet his nutritional needs. My mom won't let me buy him another food mix, so I give him boiled egg a few times every few weeks for him to get the protein he needs. I also make home-made nutritional treats for him! The moral of the story is, please, do not buy any animal if you won't take care of them.❣ Always look into an animal before you buy them! Thank you, and have a very Blessed dayyy.
If you already have the money for better food saved up, I'd say maybe just waste small amounts of food at a time? Like every other time you scoop a spoonful of food into his enclosure also scoop a similar amount into a plastic bag (perhaps this could be done while spotcleaning? Idk) If your mom finds out you could always just say your hammy left some food out in the enclosure by their bowl/bottle and it got a bit gross ^^

Victoria, I don’t know if you’re gonna see this anymore but, is it normal that some of the hamsters in my local pet store are not sleeping during the day, but rather fully awake and active? Have their sleep schedules messed up?
Hello Victoria I don’t know if you have answered this question before but can you please answer it for me. Can Robo hamsters have mealworms? I’ve seen it everywhere and I was curious so far I learned that it should not be given alive to the hamster because it will store it in its cheek and the worm will bite the pouch and harm the hamster, but idk about dead ones. So is it healthy unhealthy or just good for a treat or should it be avoided completely? Please answer this question for me thank you.
My hamster started out in a 400 sq inch cage. I tried my best to keep him from bar chewing/climbing and I couldn’t stand it. My dad helped me build and IKEA linnmon and he still tries to escape. He is comfortable with me holding him but I’m afraid it’s only because he knows I’ll be talking him out. 😂
my hamster bit me after i took her from her cage, she was already awake and came on my hand on her own so we spent some time "playing" when she bit me and wouldnt let go two times, she never does this. does anyone know what might have caused her to bite me?
Hmm. What time of the day was it?? If ur not sure, then was it in the evening or afternoon or the morning?? Maybe, you might of thought that your hamster woke up but they didn't so they might have been annoyed that you woke them up, so that's what I think might have made your hamster bite you. Please, never wake your hamster up unless you need to give them medication or you have to check if they are still alive, otherwise just leave them alone and let them wake up on their own. Hope this helped!!💅💅
I work at pets at home. And I try my best to give the best information because I have my own hamsters (so i know what they need etc) I love these videos because they help me learn more but also help me teach people if they are really suited for a hamster. 😊 thank you for these videos x
Mine lived four years but I never knew that they needed that much space I had a double decker with a tower castle thing and he still chewed on the bats
Levels don’t count towards floor space, you need 1 level of at least 450 sq inches of space. Another floor could be considered enrichment, but only if you have that 1 base floor that meets the minimum. Hamsters love to burrow and make long, deep tunnels, which keeps them active and happy. Sorry for the loss of your pet though, at least they lived long.

Hi Victoria, I was wondering if you think that you can make a video about how to move your hamster to a bigger cage since I don’t know how because she seams stressed! Thank you for the time (if you read this) but I’m looking for advice from a person who knows a lot about hamsters!! Bye
I actually mention this in my cages video :) ruclips.net/video/Sn2xo5CMX34/видео.html
For me is S.A.M.E.
I like to compare the smaller cages to confining humans to one room for your whole life
I love how Victoria do this for us and give us many informations and tips
Keep making videos 💚🐹
It's my pleasure 😊
@@VictoriaRaechel love u 🥺
It’s a good thing hamsters don’t talk because I tell my new hamster everything 😅😅😅😅😅😅
May I ask when some moments were when she stressed u or made u cry? :)
@@pinknintendoswitch5907 once my friend was at my house for the night. I accidentally left my hamsters(Gizmo's) cage open since she had two trapdoors and I only managed to remember to close the bigger one. I came up, my headphone wires had been chewed apart and Gizmo was missing. I started really stressing out and crying. I was convinced she had managed to open the trapdoor. After a while I still hadn't calmed down and was watching my phone for the whole night whilst my friend and sister were playing. She has escaped many times too and had to have over 3 cages since when she's managed to escape she can do it again really easily.
Oh I think I'm early!
Hi Victoria
I'm a 11 year hamster owner of a panda bear hamster named Luna.
She lives in a small cage and i really want to upgrade but my parents won't let me.
I told them all of the things i learned from your videos but they yelled at me. I really don't know what to do. I can't look at Luna suffering in that small cage.
I'm sorry for your loss!
Thank you for this! hope it reduces impulsive buying of hamsters :)
Very good info, keep spreading the word!!🙂
My hamster lived in a critter trail, and the I found your videos and now she lives in a 600 square inch cage because of you ❤️🐹🌿
Glad you were able to upgrade 😊
Thank you for sharing this topic! Many people buy hamsters as toys and don't think about their needs. Excited to watch!
rip i watched this after getting a hamster for christmas, also question, my hamster looks very large, almost double the size i think, is this normal?
Is he/she a Syrian if so then he/she will be quite large❤
My hampster has been alive for almost 5 years now. Is something wrong?
No, that’s amazing!! It’s not common for a hamster to live that long and when they do you should definitely be proud of yourself and the care you are providing!! 😄
You're talking nothing but the truth! Great video as always.
Thank you!
I’m glad I found this channel back on 2017, there’s a huge lack of information about hamsters and I will always be grateful for Victorias educational videos!
Thank you Cami for being a long time supporter ❤️
My cousin just got a hamster and the cage is like really bad the cage has wood chips in it and like not even burrowing space for the hamster and then I told my cuz it was a bad enclosure and then my aunt yelled at me like what I’m right AND HE DOSENT EVEN HAVE A SAND BATH ITS SOOO BAD!!! THEY DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT THERE DOING so anybody who’s seeing this watch Victoria Rachel and you will find out info that’s what I told my cuz rn and he said he’s gonna be watching her tmr!!🐹 SOO Ty for your help letting people know what the proper care is!
i personally love hearing my hamster on his wheel. it sounds like rain! so calming
me too!
My hamster was CRAZY at night, squeaking and ‘yelling’ I on the light; He ran into the hideout.😭
Mistakes are what make us human, it's all about how we learn from them to improve 😊
@@VictoriaRaechel I love those words 😊💕
I want a hamster and I’ve been obtaining safe suplies for over a year now. When I move in with my boyfriend in a month, I’m gonna buy the enclosure and set it up. Then I’ll see what more I need and once the set up is done, I’m gonna find a hamster to adopt. I’ve wanted this for a while but now the time is almost right
Hello
Hello!
I've been watching you for long time and I upgraded my hamster cage to what yours looks like (I custom made it with the dimensions you did in one of your videos) and 6 inches of bedding and tons of enrichment and night angel products (you inspire me!) Thank you for everything you do so that I can have a happy little hamster Emily
Me thinking, I want a hamster, nocturnal, isn't that me? Lol it's 12:35 AM
This is a great video! Every hamster owners should definitely all know this. Luv u very much Victoria!

I haven’t got all the money yet bc I’m saving up to 2,000 dollars so I can get all the stuff they need early! :D
I often watch yout videos in my room with my hamster, her cage is on the floor so all I do is open her lil door. Every time I open her door it makes a creak and she comes running. It's so cute 🥰

Huh my best friend has all those things and hasn’t even spent 300 yet including food for the past year
I have rats and I’m curious if it will be a issue to have a hamster in the same room. Considering rats are sensitive to sent
Not usually
I have a bed time but like I can stay up without my parents knowing and they don’t notice a difference in the morning
Victoria: they wake up very late
Me at 4am : ok i think I’m capable of that:)
I need some help!
I’m just about to get a dwarf hamster and my enclosure is 648 square inches Is this big enough? Thank you!
It is bigger than the minimum but if you want to than you can get him/her a bigger cage
Bigger is better:)
@@teapink6326 thank you so much!!! I can’t upgrade currently but I can link it to a bin cage about the same size soon so hopefully that will help!
My first hamster was a male winter white and I loved him 😍🥰❤️
omggggg she posted 1 min ago for meeeee!!!!!!!!!! yayayaayayayay!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm earlyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m so happy I live near a good hamstery/ hamster breeder 😊
My robo dwarf hamster got out of her cage and it took me 10 minutes to get her back
I've spent over $500 on my pet hamster. I hate when people say "hamsters are cheap"
Idk)
If your mom finds out you could always just say your hammy left some food out in the enclosure by their bowl/bottle and it got a bit gross ^^
@@sleepylark I can't lie 🤥 🤥 😭😭My conscience eats me alive.

When I was getting my hamster I almost got the critter trail but then I found you
Hi I'm 9 years old so thanks for the video actually and thanks for the 💖 hamster tips my name is Kaylee 💕 and I have been watching your videos for 1 year 🐹
😊 I am 9 years old and yes I do have a time that I go to bed but I can't
really sleep so I will be playing with the hamster and if you'r wondering how I'm gonna to
see the hamster is because I can stay up but the light must be off and
I must not make noise that's the only condition my parents made and
I get 100 Rand 💵allowance every month so I can buy a few stuff and 💖
the rest of the money I can save if it needs to go to the vet
And I am not a light sleeper
Sorry for adding so much comments it is because I don't want to make the comments so long
saying everything I don't want to make the comments to long 😝
Pet stores should not even sell animals 🤦🏼♀️ they should just recommend ethical breeders
no lol 😂 it’s just a simple pet i’m not gonna go half way across the world to get a hamster 💀
I appreciate that Mabel has a small Mystery Shack.
Victoria, I don’t know if you’re gonna see this anymore but, is it normal that some of the hamsters in my local pet store are not sleeping during the day, but rather fully awake and active? Have their sleep schedules messed up?
Probably from the bright lights, being kept together, and the translucent hideaways
Mealworms are completely safe 😊
My hamster started out in a 400 sq inch cage. I tried my best to keep him from bar chewing/climbing and I couldn’t stand it. My dad helped me build and IKEA linnmon and he still tries to escape.
He is comfortable with me holding him but I’m afraid it’s only because he knows I’ll be talking him out. 😂
you should remake your old rabbit care videos
I really stressed out of a vid Hamster squidgame....not rightful cause the hamsters fights,..
I’ve actually gotten so used to my hamsters wheel at night it’s almost like white noise for me
Victoria my favourite youtuber
Me too
my hamster bit me after i took her from her cage, she was already awake and came on my hand on her own so we spent some time "playing" when she bit me and wouldnt let go two times, she never does this. does anyone know what might have caused her to bite me?
Hope this helped!!💅💅
i’m going to college in 4 years so a hamster might be a good fit since they only live 2-3 years, once i get a job i’ll start saving up
I work at pets at home. And I try my best to give the best information because I have my own hamsters (so i know what they need etc) I love these videos because they help me learn more but also help me teach people if they are really suited for a hamster. 😊 thank you for these videos x
Can hamsters have peanut butter
So I was waiting fodr the good part of owning a hamster...... this video screams
DO NOT GET A HAMSTER.
If a hamster isn’t right for you then they aren’t right for you and that’s okay 😊
@VictoriaRaechel good answer thank you for answering
Mine lived four years but I never knew that they needed that much space I had a double decker with a tower castle thing and he still chewed on the bats
Levels don’t count towards floor space, you need 1 level of at least 450 sq inches of space. Another floor could be considered enrichment, but only if you have that 1 base floor that meets the minimum. Hamsters love to burrow and make long, deep tunnels, which keeps them active and happy. Sorry for the loss of your pet though, at least they lived long.
If you're not able to take your hamster to the vet, do not get a hamster. All animals deserve proper care.
The thumbnail is "a little too cute"
My hamsters says hi! We turned the notifs on so we’re early!
