This is great, it totally worked for me. I'm not skilled with soldering but was able to remove the old capacitor and put a new one in (on two failed guitars). They both work now. Thanks!!! I didn't need any additional solder or flux, I just used what was left on the circuit board when I removed the old capacitor. Note, my replacement capacitors were larger in size (not rating) but still worked fine.
Wow it actually worked just by changing this little capacitor. Mine was taller but worked fine. The old one seemed to have plastic melted on it. Thanks
Thanks! I had 2 guitars that stopped working and I could repair one thanks to your help. The second one however now behaves differently and the 4 LEDs remain static if I push the PS button while it's blinking quickly. Or they shut down randomly and I have to remove and replace batteries to make the light turn on again. I changed both compensators but it doesn't make any difference... Well at least I could save one so thanks again!
Hi. I did this but i used an 35v 220uF capacitor. It worked fine after that for like 7 minutes and now it doesnt do anything No lights either. Any Idea what i did wrong?
Do you have any tips for disconnecting the motherboard from the guitar? I can't get the large connector (16 pins) to disconnect from the mother board no matter how hard I pull on it.
Gotten my hands on a few refurbished with dongles on british ebay I want to keep playing for many years but will a CS switch from alibaba do as a replacement for the YH-B on gh3 and gh5/gh metallica or should i look elsewhere? Getting spare parts is hard unless you know your chinese backshops...
My guitar just don't turn on anymore. I changed the batteries for new ones, but it dosent work. You think that this solution of the capacitor works for this problem too?
I bought a guitar a few months ago but the springs for the batteries were rusted and I cleaned them out with a napkin and pieces of the springs were removed but the lights still work it's just that the guitar wont sync
So my guitar has this problem that it sincs but some buttons doesnt work sometimes This is the only repair i can find, change the capacitors Does this apply to my issue also?
Before capacitor replacement the guitar would just blink without connecting. Replaced capacitor and now I'm getting no light whatsoever. Orientation of cap. is correct.
Without the sodering tutorial I messed up, could not remove the old capacitor cleanly and ended up using too much heat and forcd. Now after replacement guitar no longer works
@@jcvdo8455 it was oxidated so i cleaned it up and the guitar worked fine for like 2 weeks then that problem appeared. I have also checked inside but everything was good.
hello, the last time where I bought capacitors was in eBay, maybe you can find it on Amazon too but I don't know if the shipping cost you more than the capacitors. Find it using the voltage (V) number and the microFarads (uF)
Quick question I believe this is not the issue for my guitar it was literally just working fine after I had hardwired the neck to the body of the guitar but I noticed the red cable from the battery bay was removed from where it should be connected. Will it be okay to solder the battery bay wires back onto its place? Please let me know at your earliest convenience
Thanks for the video. After putting new batteries the lights turn on and stay solid red but the guitar won’t sync. Do you know why that might be ? Thanks in advance

Thanks you so much for this guide ! You save my guitar ! I used a 16V capacitor and it look to work fine

maybe for that guitar no more can do.
Hey could u both help me i replaced the capacitor guitar worked for a while and now the guitar is dead no lights no nothing any advices?
@@shawty_seraph7644 hi did you Find the problem? I have the same issue. I did use a 63 volt 220uF capacitor.
@@arnojanssens6817 i fried the board sadly, and it wasnt capacitor fail i did something wrong it was my first time soldering
IT totally worked for me , thanks you! 40¢ capacitor and 10 min job
$40????
@@TheSturling no, 40 cents
I’d definitely pay someone to do this for me. Since I am not good with repairs and stuff.
Thank you so much! You saved my Guita's Life :D
Ok, your welcome. Glad to know you fixed it.
와우. 영상그대로 수리했더니 아주 잘됩니다.
덕분에 고쳤습니다. 감사합니다.

Hi. I did this but i used an 35v 220uF capacitor. It worked fine after that for like 7 minutes and now it doesnt do anything No lights either. Any Idea what i did wrong?
I think is too much volt, try to replace with a lower voltage capacitor, if not work, you may already damaged some component.
Ok i'll try it with a 10volt and let you know.
@@arnojanssens6817 what happened in the end?

@@SmokesLetsGoBud I forgot it. But chech the side if there's a lock. Push it while pull out the connector.
Is it importen that it is 10 volt on the capacitor or do it work with somthing else
I recommend use the same rating.

Me too, those things maybe never come back again and need to always repair it to keep playing:)
My guitar just don't turn on anymore. I changed the batteries for new ones, but it dosent work. You think that this solution of the capacitor works for this problem too?
In your case I'm not sure, mine can turned on but cannot sync/connect with the dongle.
I bought a guitar a few months ago but the springs for the batteries were rusted and I cleaned them out with a napkin and pieces of the springs were removed but the lights still work it's just that the guitar wont sync
I'm not sure if is the same problems of the capacitor. You can try to change it, capacitors are cheap maybe a $1 or $2 each one.

@@lanceinpants22 maybe in this case, other parts may be damaged or the capacitor replaced is bad.
I don't know how you find the problem. How did you know the problem was caused by the capacitor. But it seems that works on many people!!!
Randomly tried it and it works. In this case I tell you what I have done. Maybe it works for you too.
@@jcvdo8455 Many thanks! I will try. Thanks for your sharing.

Too much heat, can burn the board.
I wish i could send you my guitars to fix them for me! 😫
What’s wrong with them?
I have the same guitar for Xbox360 that didnt wanted to sync and then the next day it simply didnt turn on.
Do you think it can be the same problem?
Maybe, first check if the battery bay is oxidate
@@jcvdo8455 it was oxidated so i cleaned it up and the guitar worked fine for like 2 weeks then that problem appeared.

@@benjaminmaturanavargas8992 well, maybe this time test it with another battery tray and the worst scenario, the oxidation damaged the board.
My les Paul syncs fine its just that it overstrums
For overstrum issues use black electrical tape on the strum area
I like it.
Do you have a link too buy the capacitor?
