Fantastic. I just picked up an old LP guitar controller for our Wii today (€15). I've already fully dismantled the neck and cleaned all the gunk out of there, but then I soon realised that the loose strum bar was causing failed notes. I'll try this tomorrow. :) Thanks!
I bought an old Xbox 360 World Tour guitar and thought it was affected by over-strum, but there was also an odd rattling sound in it. when I popped it open I found an odd chunk of black plastic which was too large to be the tab for the battery cover. turns out from 1:25 of your video, it is one of the 4 tabs from the strum bar, turns out 2 had broken off of the strum bar causing the over-strum! now to locate a spare strum bar...
If only I could get this far into the guitar. The screws on the strum bar circuit board are in there so tight I can't unscrew them without stripping the screw.
I so wished I saw this video years ago it would of saved me from years of wondering if I can get my GH guitar strummer fixed it doesn't click anymore and its like it doesn't work anymore. I need to try this!
Yes, I assume it will, I know this is a late reply but if you're still wondering, it will most likely ruin it. Rake-strumming is basically only possible because of the over-strum problem most guitars have.
@@exiledgoldfish6329 most of the time you'd be right. However, there some very weird over-strumming cases. I'm not sure as to how common this is but with my ps3 WT guitar it developed an issue where it began to strum down twice with one motion, regardless to the amount of force applied - instead of the usual ricochet up down-down up overstrum.
@@awesomewav2419 lmao, thanks for the tip even after a year. It turned out one of my switches were destroyed so I got a new one and a friend to solder it in place
I’ve currently got a similar problem with a PS3 guitar. It seems to be electrical as I’ve moved the circuit board away from the strum and it still overstrums…
Hey man, I got an old ps3 gh3 guitar & I was wondering if you know how to fix the battery spot. Its springs are loose / fell off, so I’m wondering if that’s fixable.

Did it work? Sorry just to see if is a vailid try on my end as well
Thank god someone covered this issue clearly and IN DETAIL. Thank you for being awesome 🤘🏻
Works perfectly. Thank you!
I used double-sided tape but didn't remove the plastic cover on one side.
Wow I really thought it had to be the switches they used in the wii les Pauls that were just xtra springy. Interesting thx

I recently bought a wii guitar hero bundle and dude scammed me, both guitars have a problem with the strum bar
Gonna try this fix!
You're awesome!

Does this ruin the rake-strumming ability? Thanks for the tutorial it was fantastic

i would rather not be able to use rake ability then never hitting any fc's
Villesondre you can control when and when they don't overstrum. Learn to be more gentle with your strum bar

@@exiledgoldfish6329 found out that its the buttons or board thats faulty
What do I do if one of the switches have become looser? The bar itself on mine is fine
i know its a year late but. i had put the board a bit further away from the strum bar. using spaces to inscrease the distance. i hope that makes sense

I have a Xbox 360 Les Paul idk if it’s doing this cause it’ll just strum by itself

That's a lotta damage!
Will this help for a strumbar that doesn't always strum
If it doesn't strum you need to change those switches out.
hey man how do I open the guitar lmaoooooo
can you still rake strum after this mod?
This will usually kill any rakestrumming for the most part as overstrum is why rakestrumming works
@@toshibro689 How to fix GH les paul broken switch? My strum wont detect no more
