I’m.still a huge fan of the X5 AND the X3 - I have one the big / recording board and one on a smaller gigging board. I find they take drive pedals really well too… Sounds great, easy to dial in and I really find it really reliable…
You don't have to use the loop channel to put effects in front of an amp and other effects in the amp's effects loop. There is a corresponding function in Pl.5 if you use the 4 cable method.

I've had one since they came out and done a bunch of gigs with it. I call up boards via MIDI for each song. I love the unit and sound, but the software and documentation are sore spots for me. I do wish it had an EQ built in.

hmm, you could do a very simplistic 3 band eq using the compressor (or noise gate, both work quite similarly), or delay on 0ms with kill dry, lots of options, but unfortunately no real complex eq 🫡
that whole unit is full of surprises, which unfortunately require hours spent in the editor app, due to quite lacking documentation

WOW. I Love it - I bought mine over a year ago, and have not really touched it. I am going to use it in conjunction with my ToneX pedal. What I cannot find in the X5 is the Viscious Vibe (univibe), is it coupled something in Chorus, or Phaser?
It's in there now after the latest update.
It is not still good in 2024, is damn good in my rig always!

Hi! I’ve explained in the video, I’ve used a slot as fx send and return and I’ve placed there my amp using the torpedo loadbox so I can return back to the Plethora with a line level cable
Does anyone have an issue with the Plethora X5 colouring your tone even when everything is turned off? It's like there's a subtle flange effect even when all the effects are off / unit is in bypass mode (I've tried all three bypass settings in the menu).
I just can't get on with it on my pedalboard due to this issue...

The insert loop connections are mono to connect directly other guitar/bass pedals. Inputs and outputs are stereo

with the new firmware update the quick swap feature doesnt work does anyone have this issue
Maybe you have it set up to switch board mode. In global settings, you can chance the settings to switch in stead of switch board.
You don't need to waste a pedal slot for the FX Loop pedal if you aren't going to be turning the loop and off ever, you can place the loop between any of the pedals in the board settings, and gain back that 5th slot.
I think I was using the crunch channel of my JVM 410h 😅
Is it possible to control tc using qc midi?
The Plethora X5 has only MIDI IN and not OUT, so it can be controlled by other devices. It cannot send Midi to other devices.
