Honda CB500X auxiliary lights from Givi

I want to share this video about my new auxiliary lights for my Honda CB500X, no music, no speech. They were set at my Honda dealer in Porto, Portugal, Motoboxe. These lights are GIVI TREKKER and they cost me around 170,00€. If I’d chosen a led set it would have cost me around 300,00€. These Trekker have a slight difference in light colour comparing to the bike main light which is a led one, but that’s ok for me. The main purpose of these lights is not to see better at night (what, of course, helps), but to be seen better by other drivers on road.

Expensive my friend. I have the LED auxiliary lights from ebay at around £30 including the waterproof switch.

Well, I thought about sending the lights from eBay or Aliexpress but through some videos I've watched I concluded that some very cheap lights could have problems in the future, like moisture or something... So I decided to get them instaled at the Honda dealer and if I have some kind of problem I can claim them. Thanks for your comment!

Do you need to turn the engine on?

No. Just the ignition on. But you should turn the lights on only after you start the engine to prevent battery drain.

Just bought and installed a set of 310 lights, very disappointing, yellow light and a weird box shadow pattern emits. Not what i expected.

Thanks for the feedback. I've changed the bulbs of my set and it's much better. They look bluish and the light is very similar to the motorcycle led lights. As I said at the video comment, I have the lights just to make me more visible to other drivers.

Boas, de que ano é a rua cb 500x ? Sabes me dizer quando começaram a trazer iluminação led (Se calhar todas tem...) Como achas a potencia e protecção aerodinamica para um gajo grande ? (1.84 , 95 kg) Cumprimentos

Boas! 2017 com leds. Não sei responder se sempre tiveram leds... Quanto à potência, 50 CV, não esquecendo que é uma 500, para o tipo de mota que é chega e sobra. Posso dizer-te que em auto estrada consigo manter 150 km/h a vontade (embora normalmente circule entre os 120/130). A velocidade máxima que atingi foi 175 durante uns segundos, à entrada do red line. Tendo em conta a tua altura, e para evitar o fluxo de ar no capacete, talvez seja de ponderar um pára-brisas mais alto. Para mim, 1,75m, está perfeito! Abraco

Gracias Vicente! El próximo lunes voy al concesionario Honda para cambiar la pieza que está provocando que a veces la moto se cueste a encender el motor, bajo la garantía. Es algo relacionado con el sensor de neutral, luego digo exactamente lo que fue.

Sorry to say that you have paid a fortune for a pair of useless lights. Not only do they consume 110 watts, but also the throw a very weak beam of light. If your aim is to be seen, then a set of cheap led lights would do the job much better than these halogen suckers. Drive safe. Cheers.
