Know what? That without whedon all of these guys would be nobodys and only because he is a bit harsch they would behave in 20 years as if he killed someone and throw him together in a Pool with names like R kelly, Bill Codby, Harvey Weinstein and other molesters? Yeah, if people only knew... That chick in special always came across to me as the cheapest of the Buffy cast, 100% famedigger. I mean...who calls himself Carpenter with second name when they don`t want to have the assosiation "Is she related to John Carpenter"? She had that! It was a Business Move! Whatever, you cancel culture people are a Joke. What Whedon did, like what WIll Smith did, was wrong and they should be sorry for it, yes! But puttin them together in one Pool with R Kelly, Weinstein and Cosby? Gimme a break!
God I wish they would do a limited series of angel on Netflix , juts a ten episode season , get the whole cast back and de-age the vampires (spike and angel) it could be done with the right budget
I'd love too see it come back for a ten episode miniseries. It definitely has the fanbase for it. They did a season 6 in the comics, called Angel: After the Fall. But I like to think that the friends they made in Lornes home dimension came too save the day at the last moments of Not Fade Away, via portal. Or maybe have the powers that be heal Cordilia and Westley, and return them to the land of the living, after the fight in the alleyway. I've always felt Cordelia was the heart and soul of Angel.
I adore Charisma Carpenter and Eliza Dushku. Cordelia and Faith are my favorites from those shows. And Anya was alway cracking me up so I adored her, too.
"Learning to love yourself is the greatest love of all~, I decided long ago never to follow in anyone shadow, if I fail if I succeed.." - Cordelia (singing from a buffy ep)
This show just ended so badly makes me so sad cause it was so so good for so long. Don’t get me wrong the last season has its moments but killing Cordelia and Fred pissed me off so much. And for what??
yea i was so angry bcuz of cordi's death, ep 100 i even cried at the end, where angel gets the call that cordi died, i was like.....u got to be kidding me.
I agree. For me while I was watching it in its initial run, I remember being disgusted with the complete dismantling of Cordelia. To do it that way to such an established character was so foul. I remember telling family and friends back then that something is going on behind the scenes. When I saw that she was pregnant in real life, it all added up. I knew then it was retaliatory. And now we know the truth from what Charisma Carpenter and other cast members have recently revealed. Should they ever decide to do what other shows are doing by going back to continue on, Cordelia is an easy fix. Lilia told them that Cordelia would be getting the best medical care. So since she was at a Wolfram and Heart hospital, that call they made to Angel to give him the news about her ... here’s the fix... they lied.
@@oldhollywoodfan8009 as much as i want a continue of the show, i dont rly think they can catch the charm from the early 2000's. im honest with you here, i own the buffy/angel collection box, and im always skipping out the whole season 4 and 5 on angel (except ep 100, as sad as it is cordi in her old pre-connor self is rly cool in that ep) and i skip Riley (season 4 / 5 - i dont like him at all) and season 7 on buffy too. despite most ppls, i love season 6, bcuz of Willow, Spike and Buffy.
I used to hate S7 of Buffy because I had such high hopes that Spike would return with his soul and things would be all fairytale with him and Buffy. I hated that he came back and was a batshit crazy mess for so many episodes and that Buffy was still so bitchy with him. But I watched it all again recently, many times over, and S7 actually became my favorite. Because I finally saw the nuanced elements of how close they became that season. It was the two of them against the world. He had her back. She had his. Above all others. Their actions spoke love even when the words didn’t. And the subtleties in their acting with their eyes and expressions spoke so much more than words. I ended up loving the scenes in Chosen where they just held each other at night, because THAT was truly the most intimate thing they could ever do together. Far more than sex. And their eyes when she finally goes to rescue him from The First. And how she could have spent her last night on earth with Angel (then sending him home in the AM to get the 2nd front together), but she elected to tell him Spike was in her heart. And she sent him away. There were so many lovely things there. Including the fact that the very last word Buffy speaks in the entire series is “Spike”. And that the Sunnydale sign then falls over, which I feel was an ode to Spike since he drove over it every time he came to town. I also always questioned if she meant it when she told him she loved him, and always felt she was just saying it. But I saw it differently now. She nods her head a bit when she says it. It’s like she doubted herself more than anything. And I went back to when she first tells Angel she loves him. She has the same tone. Buffy respected Spike too much by then to bullshit him. And she wasn’t the type to bullshit. She always had integrity. So, I saw that all so differently recently. Angel ended too soon and the fact SMG was moved on by then made it hard to complete any arc with her and Spike. But, I did love the fact they cut to Angel looking towards Spike and then the close-up on Spike’s face when Andrew tells them “she loves you both” in TGIQ. Spike processing the fact that she does love him. His face in that one second says so much. It’s like that little exhale of, “Holy shit. She does love me.” I look for this simple stuff. As for Charisma, agreed. That all was really awful and sad. All of it. On and off screen. The comics helped me get some resolution with it all, despite only being comics.
Oh going to disagree there. I always thought Angel got Joss Whedon’s plots that BTVS didn’t get. Buffy has the most scholarly written articles of ANY tv show to history. Angel is filmed in a really campy way too, more than Buffy. The writing on Buffy always seemed more thought out.
Gun and fredd HAVENT AGED! Neither has wesly really or the rest of the cast, Charisma looks the same too but simply different weight from the pressure of hollywood back then Now she looks healthy and happy, wow They look so good all of them!
I was okay with killing off Cordelia, never got much out of her or the actress, her or any following projects. Fred, that always makes me cry, that and Wesley's
It's rare that two actors can be part of each other's death scenes when they didn't happen at the same time. Fred's actual death didn't hit me so much because I (as well as the characters) didn't really believe she was gone gone at the time. It really hit in that flashback of her leaving home though...😭😭😭
Uh, what? Cordelia was the most essential character. She had the visions that were meant to guide Angel. For you to say "I never got much out of her" is ridiculous. Angel himself says in season 5 that he has been completely LOST without her.
Have you watched Buffy and Angel? It was incredibly “woke” for its time. Truly have you actually watched the shows? Constantly makes comments of gender roles, stereotypes and Buffy is overtly feminist. Were you not watching?
@@PlaceForAnEcho no it was not woke like supergirl, Buffy and Angel was focusing on the story instead of keeping talking about their sexuality or genders or race from beginning to the end of the show, it was just Scoobys fighting demons, so dont go accusing Buffy and Angel was woke, they were miles away from that
Charisma can love her character, the cast and be proud of the show INSPITE of Whedon's appaling treatment towards her. Cordelia is her most famous role and the character grew so much from a spoilt, bullying, stuck up teen to a compassionate, thoughtful, selfless young woman.
Please explain why Charisma's terrible experience with Joss Whedon should ruin her friendships with the rest of the cast? Her character was brilliant before season 4. Before Joss decided to fat-shame her for being pregnant and then use her pregnancy to destroy the character. She clearly has good memories of the show before that time. She has every right to there talking about it.

Oh yeah, sure. She should ruin the 20th anniversary for everyone by talking about her negative experiences with Joss. Get a grip, will you? She's not the only one who criticized Joss. The actress who played Dawn on 'Buffy' said that she wasn't allowed to be in a room alone with Joss, clearly implying that he wasn't trusted with young girls.
@@iluvlaffertyoh, she made a weird implication alright. But, why didn't she back that up with anything of substance? He said he had no idea what she was talking about. She had a crush on James Marsters and was warned to stop following him around. James wrote a song about her unwanted attention called "Dangerous." It's on RUclips.
@@TamaraKane A male actor who worked with Joss on a Marvel project said he was treated awfully by him & thanked Charisma for sharing her experience as it drew attention to his own. Even Sarah (Buffy) spoke out against him & has basically disassociated her love for the role from his labeling. It's not like it's uncommon for accusations of inappropriate workplace behavior in a popular TV show to emerge years later. It happened with the One Tree Hill creator; the actress whose character he always sucked up to spoke out against his abusive treatment. I can't speak for Michelle Trachtenberg, but Charisma Carpenter was so loyal to the show that she didn't speak out about her firing for years (and the Joss details she withheld for much longer). She would never exaggerate this type of thing; she adored being part of the Buffyverse.
That moment at 8:24 when you see the look on Charisma’s face as she looks away when Josh is mentioned just screams “if people only knew”.

You can see how everyone looks older while amy acker is smiling wide in immortality lol
David was so sorry he wasn't there because he was filming. Seriously they haven't checked his schedule. He is Angel
hes the only person in the cast who is busy being a series regular
Miss & Love these actors, so much!
