I don't care what other fan shippers think nor do I care how the writers ended it ( which was open ended even with the comics). When the actors who are the ones bringing these characters to life and understand these characters better than anyone and the emotions that they have to portray are saying who their character loves...that's what it is. For me, after Season Three it became the Spike show, sorry not sorry Joss . . . 😄 I felt Buffy just lost who she was as a person/budding hero without Angel and backtracked on a lot of the character development she had had in Seasons 2-3. That's on the writers though, NOT Sarah Michelle Gellar - she is one GREAT actress!

In art, you always have to strike a balance between telling your story and giving the people what they want - cause they are the ones who pay you! You can't eat if the show doesn't sell! And so many people just LOVE Spike so much they want him to have Buffy cause she's the heroine and so overlook how bad they were for each other. I love Spuffy also, but it's clear that Geller and Boreanaz had a very special relationship and connection, on set and off. In terms of whether they ever dated in real life, I don't know. Because Boreanaz WAS married from 1997 to '99, which would have been the time they shot Seasons 1 to 3 (I think). In general, unless a relationship ends in marriage, a break-up can often damage the dynamic between co-stars' chemistry on-set, making things awkward. (Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, here's looking at you). The fact that Sarah and David remained close makes me think they probably didn't. I became super emotional watching episodes in Seasons 2 and 3 (I hadn't watched the show since it first aired on British TV YEARS AGO). It often felt, watching them, that they weren't simply playing a part in those scenes; they were LIVING it, and the story they were telling and reality crossed over and became blurred. The writing of the show was always amazing, but the chemistry and connection between these 2 elevated their performances.

@@CJPDeQueen I like both ships in different ways. Bangle was a love at first sight which is pretty cliche. But the other one is a slow burn. They start off enemies and then become friends in the end. But Buffy/Angel also start off friends so it’s a bit more boring to me. Her and Angel was built like a first crush. The 2nd relationship was a more mature love because Buffy was older by that time.
To me a ship in a TV show shouldn’t be determined by how chemistry is off set. It’s what’s in the show that matters and only the show. But it’s cool Sarah and David worked so well together
@@lessismore8533 I agree that a show shouldn't be defined by how 2 people's chemistry is off-screen. But sometimes, when an on-screen couple are together off-screen as well, their 'real' lives can't help but be affected by their work. Unfortunately, I think that in Dobrev and Somerhalder's case, their break-up did come between the characters they played on-screen eventually, with the writers trying to think up ways to keep DE apart because things possibly became awkward for them. (I think the break-up even affected how Ian saw DE in later seasons. I remember being aghast by some things he said about them at a fan convention years ago). I loved Spuffy when they happened, but some of their scenes in seasons 5 and 6 are really difficult for me to watch. Parts of it were destructive, unhealthy, and toxic but I did love them - and I get why people continue to love them, because there's something about a 'dark' character falling so deeply for a woman he can't have that resonates with everyone. Bangel didn't have that to begin with, but they became a lot more than a first crush/immature high school romance that a lot of fans like to paint them as. Re-watching Seasons 1-3 made me realise - and remember - how special they were.
I like their friendship chemistry❤️ between Sarah and David as Buffy and Angel in 3 seasons when first meet who was a valley cheerleader with typical teenage sassy meets a mysterious brooding street smart dude who didn’t know turn out vampire yet😂 when meets again and introduced himself when Buffy asked question what it’s like to have a friend sadly doesn’t have any for 240 yrs when was evil had no soul yet when cursed by gypsies when it was a stump to answer, and when they start to develop feeling for each other when a vampire that turn out to be who falls 💕for the slayer who isn’t like any other enemies except only one problem is which is just unfair to not allow any true happiness to be with and make love to break the curse and unleash as Angelus sadistic poetic because his soul is contain to punishment for tyranny only it’s not actually he himself when it was out of D.I.D alter ego in soulless taking control in abuse of power, breaking persons feelings with insulting, spilling secrets, torture, and murder, without 2nd thoughts of feeding off and killing in 2nd thoughts unlike spike that maintain his patients, and when recursing his soul back in angel things got complicated in aftermath it’s like her beloved was taking away by a rule policy that is not allowed is just not fair💔 and announced of the spin off angel series had no choice but to break up thanks to Mayor Wilkins in his point and Joyce who doesn’t really accept her daughters chosen path can’t escape, and made him to have to break up with Buffy didn’t want too but has too😞💔 out of tough unfair reasons👍😑 after the inception survived didn’t leave yet without to show that he’s ok standing right with with the 🚒 and makes his vanish in walking 🚶♂️ the best👍 and💔

My headcanon is theyre endgame. I think the comics are so batshit crazy and are so far dethatched from Buffy the show I don't view them as canon and the show was left open ended for us to finish the story ourselves.

I love Spuffy also, but it's clear that Geller and Boreanaz had a very special relationship and connection, on set and off. In terms of whether they ever dated in real life, I don't know. Because Boreanaz WAS married from 1997 to '99, which would have been the time they shot Seasons 1 to 3 (I think). In general, unless a relationship ends in marriage, a break-up can often damage the dynamic between co-stars' chemistry on-set, making things awkward. (Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, here's looking at you). The fact that Sarah and David remained close makes me think they probably didn't. I became super emotional watching episodes in Seasons 2 and 3 (I hadn't watched the show since it first aired on British TV YEARS AGO). It often felt, watching them, that they weren't simply playing a part in those scenes; they were LIVING it, and the story they were telling and reality crossed over and became blurred. The writing of the show was always amazing, but the chemistry and connection between these 2 elevated their performances.

@@CJPDeQueen I like both ships in different ways. Bangle was a love at first sight which is pretty cliche. But the other one is a slow burn. They start off enemies and then become friends in the end. But Buffy/Angel also start off friends so it’s a bit more boring to me. Her and Angel was built like a first crush. The 2nd relationship was a more mature love because Buffy was older by that time.
To me a ship in a TV show shouldn’t be determined by how chemistry is off set. It’s what’s in the show that matters and only the show. But it’s cool Sarah and David worked so well together
@@lessismore8533 I agree that a show shouldn't be defined by how 2 people's chemistry is off-screen. But sometimes, when an on-screen couple are together off-screen as well, their 'real' lives can't help but be affected by their work. Unfortunately, I think that in Dobrev and Somerhalder's case, their break-up did come between the characters they played on-screen eventually, with the writers trying to think up ways to keep DE apart because things possibly became awkward for them. (I think the break-up even affected how Ian saw DE in later seasons. I remember being aghast by some things he said about them at a fan convention years ago).
I loved Spuffy when they happened, but some of their scenes in seasons 5 and 6 are really difficult for me to watch. Parts of it were destructive, unhealthy, and toxic but I did love them - and I get why people continue to love them, because there's something about a 'dark' character falling so deeply for a woman he can't have that resonates with everyone. Bangel didn't have that to begin with, but they became a lot more than a first crush/immature high school romance that a lot of fans like to paint them as. Re-watching Seasons 1-3 made me realise - and remember - how special they were.
I like their friendship chemistry❤️ between Sarah and David as Buffy and Angel in 3 seasons when first meet who was a valley cheerleader with typical teenage sassy meets a mysterious brooding street smart dude who didn’t know turn out vampire yet😂 when meets again and introduced himself when Buffy asked question what it’s like to have a friend sadly doesn’t have any for 240 yrs when was evil had no soul yet when cursed by gypsies when it was a stump to answer, and when they start to develop feeling for each other when a vampire that turn out to be who falls 💕for the slayer who isn’t like any other enemies except only one problem is which is just unfair to not allow any true happiness to be with and make love to break the curse and unleash as Angelus sadistic poetic because his soul is contain to punishment for tyranny only it’s not actually he himself when it was out of D.I.D alter ego in soulless taking control in abuse of power, breaking persons feelings with insulting, spilling secrets, torture, and murder, without 2nd thoughts of feeding off and killing in 2nd thoughts unlike spike that maintain his patients, and when recursing his soul back in angel things got complicated in aftermath it’s like her beloved was taking away by a rule policy that is not allowed is just not fair💔 and announced of the spin off angel series had no choice but to break up thanks to Mayor Wilkins in his point and Joyce who doesn’t really accept her daughters chosen path can’t escape, and made him to have to break up with Buffy didn’t want too but has too😞💔 out of tough unfair reasons👍😑 after the inception survived didn’t leave yet without to show that he’s ok standing right with with the 🚒 and makes his vanish in walking 🚶♂️ the best👍 and💔
