D-Day 80th Anniversary C-53 "D-Day Doll" C-47, DC-3 CAF N45366

In June 2024 My friends Wayne Frank, Pat McCollam & I participated in a D-Day 80th Anniversary Remembrance at the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Inland Empire Wing at the Riverside Airport in California. www.inlandempirecaf.com/ My Flight was on June 8th 2024.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy June 6th and many aircraft participated in a very special commemorative flypasts over UK skies, then headed for Normandy. This showed some of the largest formations and collections of aircraft to mark the anniversary.
The famous WWII veteran C-53 Skytrooper "D-Day Doll" that we flew in actually flew During WWII, this C-53D Skytrooper flew with 434th Troop Carrier Group in the D-Day Invasion, Operation Market Garden, the supply of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge, and the Rhine Crossing. The warbird is part of the Inland Empire Wing of the Commemorative Air Force.
