I guess Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the login password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
@Nicolas Jaziel Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I have to say I am really impressed with your sketchbook. Not just because of the art...but because it shows a teenager that was really driven. I wonder if you know how rare that is? I am going to show my two boys this video. I believe it will inspire them too.
1: Do you do environments? 2: Yeah, I do environments. 1: Ok, great. Bring some in your portfolio. 2: Oh great, now I have to go draw some environments. Ain't that the truth XD
i'm just out of secondary school myself and gosh by the same stage in your life you're leaps and bounds over what i can do. on the bright side, i found a sketchbook from when i was a tween and had a good laugh at my old drawings and realized i learned a lot in just a few years. hopefully as an adult i can progress more.
I was just going through some old highschool and college stuff the other night while setting up my new work space. It's fun and surreal to see the old stuff and then look at the newer work being done. Thank you for another great video sir!
Thanks a lot for sharing this stuff! My old sketchbooks always bring back lots of memories, it's like a visual diary of life. Really cool to see where some of your roots are
I've had an abundance of sketchbooks throughout my life time. Some I still have and some I have lost. Good thing I have a great memory, to redraw what I've lost. I have to say art is a big part of my life. Hopefully I can keep up the great work like the rest of the art community. Yes sir! By the way Jake Parker your doing a fantastic job on keeping art alive! Keep up the great work!!! Look for my comment on the next latest vid.
I find when artist look at work from even a few months ago they are always like "Oh man i was so bad back then, I would do nothing the same." I really like how you enjoy your old artwork it was very refreshing.
Man, I just discovered your channel and your work some time ago. And just became one of my favorites artists. Keep up the awesome work. And I wish i could meet you to thank you for the inspirational and instructional videos!
I really enjoyed this video it inspired me to get better in my art. Thank you so much for that! you are one of my idols and heroes. Thank you for everything!
Thanks for posting these videos. They are brave. For a long time I couldn't even share my art with anyone but the trash can. Posting and selling is giving a little piece of yourself away. Something quite naked about the process. Anyhow thanks Jake.
omg you were 16??? god im seventeen 11th class art and i thought i would be good but this is just wowowwoww I feel like if im not even close to your skill im bad af even though my class is worse than me
well, he probably started drawing a few years back Like it took me three Years to get a good grasp of anatomy. **the first year I started drawing and it was like ugly box characters, 3 years of drawing I draw Comic poses XD. Time flies**
RxY He said this art is from 16 years ago, not that he was 16 at the time. He also said he had a job, so I doubt he was 16 anyway (his art is still great tho).
Currently 17 right now, I kinda regret throwing away all my artwork from when I was 5-6 years old, usually I drew buses, trucks and trains back then :P But I still preserve some drawings from when I was 11, I usually drew expensive cars and cop cars. I still do it today, only my drawings improve overtime.
It isn't really talent. It's Just practice. Talent is but the inspiration you get to start drawing. and he probably practiced a bunch, which I aspire to :D
I feel kinda sad. I'm 21 and i can't imagine myself doing art like this, it's just amazing... my 15~16 years drawings should look like his 3 year olds.... Jake, you're amazing!
I like looking at other artists sketch books too. it's interesting to observe others growth. also, art has a unique way of capturing certain feelings, and it's different for each person.
Just after high school??? holy shit dude. You were awesome back then too. I wish I would have taken things seriously back then, now I'm having to make up for it. Always learning.
Hey Jake, your work is great. I am a big fan. Thanks for taking the time to share the growth you've experienced it is really inspiring to watch. Every time I watch your videos I get more motivated to pursue my passion for art and illustration.
+Raven Cross Yeah it's almost depressing, when I was that young I was still convinced that people couldn't become artists. But what maters isn't then: but now!
Hey Jake! I live in Denver! I just watched your video! Really excited to meet you at the Denver Comicon. Some of my favorite places to eat / hang out near the convention center: 1up (its an arcade/bar) Maggiano's - Denver Pavilions Marco's Coal Fired Pizza - Ballpark Ignite Burgers & Bar Machete Tequila + Tacos - Lodo
wow! those are very good drawings sir! I wish I had never stopped drawing but now i am back at it :) Thanks for all these inspiring videos that you are creating. God bless you!
hi again jake it has been a long time since i ave done a portfolio and my personal series of comics bilbo and bobo you've inspired me to do more of both of them, mainly comics i love your art i have subed and liked to you bye.
Great video as always Jake! I would love to see some of your life drawing at some point. And maybe some thoughts about how you approach it. Or what would be super awesome is if we could see you draw a figure with you describing your thought process! Keep up the awesome vids!!
I was born in 1998. some of this is before then and I haven't et gained the skills for that level of art... Gotta try harder!. Funny thing is tho, I wasn't expecting you to show such fantastic sketches/drawings, was looking for a feel good video rather then a get motivated video lol
This video is OLD but I just saw it and here are my comments. Jake, this is not fair. the reason to watch an old sketchbook art is to see the progress of the artist, from kiddish art to PRO level mature quality. but I see your art in 96 and to me, if you are 100% now, in 96 you were 98%! look at the work! it is almost the same as last year. little AVATAR Navi female @ 4:38. young SKULL chaser@ 3:40. Fox kid. dinosaurs, robots, ships! what changed? be reasonable and show us your sketchbook from kindergarten so that we may blow our minds.
Holy fucking shit damn. How the fuck could be that good 15-16 years ago, that is like how i dream of drawing, fuck. man, you are very talented, really.
Man oh man. If I had my sketchbooks from just after high school -- (a) they would be really really bad and (b) they would just be page after page of me redrawing stuff by Erik Larsen and Rob Liefeld and Jim Lee.... And Warner Bros. cartoon characters. Things worked out better for you for a reason. ;-)
Hello jake! Youve inspired me to really dig in to my love of Illustration and really start going after that as a career. Is there such thing as starting too old though?
That's great! If you've got a good work ethic and an ability to learn I don't think you're ever too old to embark on new adventures. I still want to try out new things and sometimes I wonder if I'm too old. Then I remember that Miyazaki didn't start drawing his manga Nausicaa until he was 40 years old and I re it's never too late to try something new.
Very good stuff, Jake! I remember some of your stuff from around 2000 or 2001, and you were (imho) much better than this already, but still very well drawn stuff.
I know you're trying to inspire us not make us ragingly depressed, but when I was in highschool I was being locked in the back yard every day after school being told it was "babysitting" and thinking writing ideas on paper would make me an artist some day, then I get to college and learn "nope! you are less of a human than others because everyone else actually studied in Highschool and now it's physically impossible for you to make up the time you lost."
Your artwork is awesome. So much detail. Is there a way to hone that? A way to make my art more intricate I guess? Is it all the shading or do I just need to add more tiny details? Very wow. I'm inspired. I'm going to look up more mechanical reference and more animal realism. I need to draw more.
Details are the 'newbie' trap everyone falls for when learning to draw. Details don't make art good, they complement good art. If you can apply the fundamentals to a decent level, adding details and rendering more won't be an issue.
You've come a long way Jake...
Kesh man was viewing an old video and i found your comment big fan bro
Even you keshh
I guess Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a way to log back into an Instagram account??
I was stupid forgot the login password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
@Harry Lorenzo instablaster =)
@Nicolas Jaziel Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Can you show me some art from when you were 3 so I can feel a bit better about my own art?
I still think he would be better xD
this comment is completly accurate to my feelings right now :D
ahhh, those sweet sweet frustration
omg i just thought exactly the same i was like ok 1998 is gonna look attainable lol
Daptor Yeah I was like even Jake would be making bad art back then and this would inspire me lol. Time to work more hard T^T
Crickies, when were you NOT good? That mech work still holds up.
Great stuff man.
I have to say I am really impressed with your sketchbook. Not just because of the art...but because it shows a teenager that was really driven. I wonder if you know how rare that is? I am going to show my two boys this video. I believe it will inspire them too.
Tannie Smith Thanks Tannie! I was lucky to have hang with some really great guys who inspired me to be my best.
1: Do you do environments?
2: Yeah, I do environments.
1: Ok, great. Bring some in your portfolio.
2: Oh great, now I have to go draw some environments.
Ain't that the truth XD
Jake's all like "I did this on the toilet with a ball point pen in high school" and I'm like "Someday I'm going to be that good."
i'm just out of secondary school myself and gosh by the same stage in your life you're leaps and bounds over what i can do. on the bright side, i found a sketchbook from when i was a tween and had a good laugh at my old drawings and realized i learned a lot in just a few years. hopefully as an adult i can progress more.
Found an old sketchbook from high school/college, and was pretty entertained at how far ive come, but your stuff even from back then is incredible!
that sketchbook is older than me....funny
I was just going through some old highschool and college stuff the other night while setting up my new work space. It's fun and surreal to see the old stuff and then look at the newer work being done. Thank you for another great video sir!

So cool to watch your old sketchbooks!
Nice to see that your old stuff holds up pretty well to this day! Wish I could say the same about my old work...
This was the year I was born. Great art and you've come a long way.
Hey man, love your work. Watching your videos is always motivating

Great stuff! I love seeing people's old sketchbooks. It makes me wonder what I'm going to think of my current sketchbooks ten years from now
I'll be done with high school this month...I have...a lot of work to do.
I recently found an old hard bound sketchbook from high school and It's been interesting to see how I was back then to how I am now. Great video!
Wow you were really good back in the day! I am at college and not even a third of the people I know are as good as you.... Great inspiration
omg you were 16??? god im seventeen 11th class art and i thought i would be good but this is just wowowwoww
I feel like if im not even close to your skill im bad af even though my class is worse than me

Le Central is a great little french place here. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is excellent. See you at DCC!
your drawings were pretty amazing. I agree its fun to look back at where you started up until now
Currently 17 right now, I kinda regret throwing away all my artwork from when I was 5-6 years old, usually I drew buses, trucks and trains back then :P But I still preserve some drawings from when I was 11, I usually drew expensive cars and cop cars. So talented at such a young age!
It isn't really talent. It's Just practice. Talent is but the inspiration you get to start drawing. and he probably practiced a bunch, which I aspire to :D
@@idk-nm8xr fuck you.Someone is suprised with his art and you have to ruin it.
I feel kinda sad.
I'm 21 and i can't imagine myself doing art like this, it's just amazing...
my 15~16 years drawings should look like his 3 year olds....
Jake, you're amazing!
1:03 Literally the reason I'm watching this. I just watch a more recent Sketchbook video by you. Came to this to see the difference.
That was already awesome !!
Nice Creature Tech magnet in the backgroud!
When Jake Parker pulls out his old sketchbook and even 20 years ago he's better then you. 🤣😭😂😂🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️.
I like looking at other artists sketch books too. it's interesting to observe others growth. also, art has a unique way of capturing certain feelings, and it's different for each person.

+Raven Cross still suck at 25, worse than you. haha
+Raven Cross Yeah it's almost depressing, when I was that young I was still convinced that people couldn't become artists. But what maters isn't then: but now!
So very clean

I need to pick up the pace!
Bloody good drawings for 16 years old!
Great video as always Jake! I would love to see some of your life drawing at some point. And maybe some thoughts about how you approach it. Or what would be super awesome is if we could see you draw a figure with you describing your thought process! Keep up the awesome vids!!
Daniel Keeble Oh man...I haven't been to a life drawing session since 2000. I should try it though. Thanks for the request.
Yes
I was born in 1998. some of this is before then and I haven't et gained the skills for that level of art... Gotta try harder!. Funny thing is tho, I wasn't expecting you to show such fantastic sketches/drawings, was looking for a feel good video rather then a get motivated video lol
I was expecting crappy drawings
Your old drawing and now are both amazing. And mine is like... (ughh)
And I like your Missile Mouse book! Good Job!
This video is OLD but I just saw it and here are my comments.

Holy fucking shit damn. How the fuck could be that good 15-16 years ago, that is like how i dream of drawing, fuck. man, you are very talented, really.

Ricardo Mazeto Check out the previous one
Nate Tyler Thanks! Exactly what I was williing to watch. Nice.
Your channel deserves more subscribers :)
Man oh man. If I had my sketchbooks from just after high school -- (a) they would be really really bad and (b) they would just be page after page of me redrawing stuff by Erik Larsen and Rob Liefeld and Jim Lee.... And Warner Bros. cartoon characters.
Things worked out better for you for a reason. ;-)
you inspire me sir,I subscribed to you when I found you!love the videos! :0

I find it so hard finish a sketch book but easy to start
That large winged female charcoal piece was still at MCC last time I was there. I think Mr. Garrison still has it.
Dan Bishop For real? Woah...I thought I threw it away.
Jake Parker I called him and he doesn't have it any longer. It was last spotted on display at MCC 10+ years ago. To the Batmobile!
You've been out of school longer than I have been alive.

I'm 16, got in to art about six months ago and this is making me really disheartened cause I'm still trying to draw a face I'm happy with.
awesome...^^ I'm actually uploading a old slide show today! of older art random year though!
I live in colorado and the one time something actually happens here I was unaware XP
this is why i cry
because i can draw as good as you 😫😫😫
Now there's a series called Chrononauts, you shoulda went with your idea. Nice work dude.
Kyle Youldon I know! haha...but I didn't know how to draw comics yet.
