THE ONLY POWER HITTER DURING THE STEROID ERA THAT ABSOLUTELY NO ONE QUESTIONED WAS JUICING. Greatest natural swing ever! He was born to baseball!
My favorite baseball player of all time. I’m from Cincinnati and I cried tears of joy when he stood up at the Reds contract signing and said I’m home.
Had he not took such a pounding on the Seattle outfield concrete all those years he could’ve had the homer title. Sadly he just couldn’t stay healthy on his later years in Cincinnati. 😢

@James Roberts uh no you’re wrong. Griffey was always small and skinny until he got older. McGuire and Sosa were jacked and had muscles where nobody else in the league had. Griffey was pure talent and he rode it his whole career. The only knock against him was that he didn’t really take care of himself after injuries, which cost him more playing time. Griffey hit 630 for his career. He’d easily have 800+ had he not gotten hurt.

I was 12 years old when I saw Griffey play in the Kingdome in '89. It wasn't his debut, but it was his rookie season. The environment was so electric, it surged through you and made the hair on your arms stand up. I will never forget it. We weren't only watching a rising star, it was as if we were witnessing a prodigy...a savior. Like knew this kid was going to save our baseball world from immanent doom. You see, in Seattle, our baseball team hasn't had a lot to cheer about before The Kid came along, or after. I'll take, what is a 20 year playoff drought, Alex. Fast forward to the 1995 ALDS. It all came down to that. Griffey's presence in Seattle. It wasn't just his talent...it was all of HIM. The kid helped save Seattle baseball. We will always love him for that. I still find it amazing how the experience of growing up in Seattle during his time has impacted my life. It was a great time in Seattle and baseball history.

My favorite player by far. I tried batting left handed so much because I wanted my swing to be that smooth. Never happened lol

When people talk about the greatest of all time, his name gets forgotten. You hear, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Barry Bones. In my opinion he deserves to be at least mentioned as one of the greatest ever! I don’t really care for baseball but between Griffey, Bonds, Randy Johnson, Pedro, Ozzie Smith, and Cal Ripken. I became a fan.

People talk about his swing and hitting but his fielding ability was amazing. He had some spectacular catches and robberies you have ever seen
