Wow. How must it have felt to be a dad sitting in the dugout watching your own son crush pitches and get 50,000 people on their feet? I don't think it's possible to have a prouder moment as a father than that.

JR Is the goat. Most lift the front leg in a swing, he doesn't and has the most fluid swing in baseball. Miss people like him, did it right on and off the field!

Griffey Jr and Sr are great together. All fathers should be proud to play baseball or coach their sons. What a moment!! And Junior is the best player of all time. For me, it was an honor, treat and a pleasure to have watched him play growing up

Im a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. However, growing up and being adopted to this country from Romania 🇷🇴, my favorite baseball player of all time is Ken Griffey Junior. He had the greatest swing ever and he played the best defense ever. I got to see him play as a Redd against Sosa and the Cubs in 2000 and its the best experience of my life

Its Ironic that Griffey hit that over Dante Bichette's head now that Dante's son is in the Big's. Right now has got to be a record for the most MLB players offspring playing. For me its reignited my love for the game watching the sons of guys I grew up watching. Now in my late 40's all the guys I grew up watching are long retired. Except Bartolo Colon heard he was pitching in the mexican league dudes gotta be 57 by now.

I wish you guys would have posted a new Griffey highlight video instead of a collection of videos already on RUclips. Why not some videos of Griffey stealing some bases, or hitting some triples. He played for 22 years and have been retired for 10 years but most of his career isnt even online. Just hidden away.

When I was a kid I would wake up before school and record his sports center highlights so I can have forever on a VHS tape. Living in South Louisiana the time difference didn't leave much time to watch games at night as they would start at 9pm central. Thank you technology. 😃

Ken Griffey jr actually only had a career 2.2 dwar which is below average and was extremely overrated on defense... it’s just that the media loved him so they voted him for gold gloves every year

    • @lucass.8338

Thats because the injuries in his later years took away a lot of his range. If you look at his prime years (his mariners years plus that one good season at cincannati) he was worth 11.6 dwar

From 1989-2000 he had the 5th highest defensive fangraph WAR amongst all outfielders. Only players with more WAR were Kenny Lofton, Andruw Jones, Devon White, and Lance Johnson (Johnson was only 0.6 WAR ahead of Griffey). Griffey's defense deteriorated after 2000 and he should have never been in center field after 2000. But that doesn't matter. This is a Seattle Mariners Griffey highlight reel, not a Griffey Cincinnati Reds highlight reel.
