Such a simple yet powerful recipe! 🍵 Turmeric and ginger make the ultimate health-boosting combo. Can’t wait to try this and feel the warmth and benefits. Thanks for making it so easy!
I suffer from pain in my back from time-to-time and it turmeric goes to work immediately when I add black pepper, and a drop or two of organic oil, like coconut, or olive oil.
A great recipe, thanks. For me as a green & oolong tea-drinker, I like to add Turmeric and ginger to my tea. At age 81 ----no health problems, and my eyesight and cognition is sharp and clear.
I had a tummy bug that was going around. I made turmeric lemonade and my bug was gone before the end of the day. I am excited to try it hot to keep the flu bug away.
Been drinking tumeric tea for the last two years. I started to help relieve lower intestinal pain (diverticular pain)and it helps massively. The pain comes back if I don't drink the tea for more than two days, so I drink it daily and it seems to do the job. It's the only dietary regimen that I feel compelled to maintain due it's pronounced effect.
I made turmeric ginger tea. I like it spicy. This is my first time I made it. It tasted great the smell is wonderful I put lemon in mine. I love jalapeno peppers so I am use to spicy
Thank you so much :D Just tried this recipe - OMG!!!!! MashAllah , I am going to make it daily now !!!! I used 1/2 cup sweet coconut almond milk , 1 tsp coconut butter , 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp ginger powder, 1 tsp cinnamon powder and honey . I blended it all using my coffee mixer device. Blended it right in !!! Very ayurvedic ... therapeutic indeed. :) I want to top it off with Saffron next :)
When using raw honey as a sweetener, it's best to let the temperature of the tea cool to at least or below 116°F to avoid destroying the health benefits of the honey. Otherwise using regular store bought honey is just a sweetener, but great recipe! Thanks for sharing.
This is exactly the ingredients I use to make my tea, but I do the fresh turmeric and I always thought you had to add a pinch of pepper so I would add that. I whisk all the ingredients over the stove to incorporate and heat up. It's so delicious.
When using whole fresh turmeric, you don't need to add black pepper as the root contains active compounds that help with the absorption of the beneficial curcuminoids! The beauty of whole foods :)
I use Turmeric, coconut oil and baking soda mixed together to remove plaque from my teeth, whiten my teeth, prevent infections and help heal any cavities ( which I have done). I wish I had known this twenty years ago, I could have saved myself a lot of unnecessary stress. Even though it stains my tooth brush, it works great for healthier gums and teeth.
I drank turmeric tea when I was diagnosed with costochondritis! (GOOGLE IT, very painful) It helped me each day. Thanks for sharing this recipe, mine was a bit different. I just tried your recipe...its very good. Thanks for sharing. ☕ God bless! Peace, Lynne 🍃💜🍃
I recently started drinking golden milk. I use pretty much everything you're using here except I use rice milk and I do add a pinch of black pepper. I was pleasantly surprised how delicious it is. I'm always looking for natural ways to boost my immune system and this tea is excellent for that.🙂
Sooooo Good! I have found if I freeze fresh turmeric and then peel it , I don't get orange all over my fingers. Does anyone know some good uses for the leftover pulp once strained?
Thank you for this. Sounds good. I'm wondering if heating the raw honey over a certain temperature doesn't destroy its vital enzymes. Maybe add it after the temperature comes down a bit?
Scott, yes it does. From one bee keeper website I found, it was advised not to heat it up above 95F because then honey starts losing its properties. I was never a fan myself of leaving honey in hot tea, I eat it on the side.
Turmeric is a plant which had a very long history and uses for 4000 years, it is also known as Indian saffron. Planet Ayurveda had curcumin capsules that are really effective and beneficial in treating many patients.
I'm going to try making it right now! Thanks for the info. I use turmeric in green tea with a little cinnamon and ginger and melt one or two dark chocolate Hershey kisses in the cup.
You can use either! I like to use fresh as much as possible since it comes with a wealth of other nutritious benefits from the phytonutrients in it but it will work with either. You can find the recipe here: www.joyoushealth.com/26656-blog-super-easy-turmeric-ginger-tea
I make golden milk every day. I use grass fed milk or any other milk ,add thinly grated raw turmeric and ginger and let it simmer for 5-10 minutes and then strain it .I have this with half tsp of course ground pepper. We take it very night .They say adding pepper makes bi availability by 2000 times .and I personally feel that it benefits by drinking in night
That's amazing! So glad you're enjoying it Reena! If you're using fresh turmeric, you actually don't need the black pepper though! The whole fresh turmeric has a lot of phytonutrients like turmerones that aid in the absorption of the curcumin. But if you like the spicy taste of it, by all means, go for it! :)
I take a turmeric pill every day, and juice ginger in my daily green juice also. I'd like to juice fresh turmeric but I don't want to stain my juicer worse than it already is!
It will stain everything it comes into contact with but I find a good scrub with hot water and soap can get most of it out. If not, it's a well-loved juicer and blender! ;)
The presenter said it's hard to find fresh turmeric or ginger, I don't know where did she live for sure not in North America , Because you can find all over fresh turmeric and ginger even in smaller towns I mean very small towns as well, Cities markets are FULL of organoc & nonorganic Ginger & Turmeric,
Where do you live? You're lucky! I live in Toronto, Canada and fresh turmeric is not easy to find for the average person here because it doesn't grow locally. I just go to my local health food store to find it, but if you live in a rural area, you'd have a tough time finding it. Ginger on the other hand, is very easy to find even though it's not local it's just used much more often than turmeric so big box grocery stores import it.
You can use either but you don't have to because this recipe calls for the whole turmeric root. There is coconut butter in this recipe which contains fat so no need to add extra oil.

I hope someone sees my question & lets me know. Thanks for any help.
Olga Miller oh my goodness that sounds terrible, I’m sorry to hear you had this experience. Do you mean you physically burned your mouth from the heat? Or do you mean it was just too spicy for you? If you had really potent cayenne and very fresh pepper that could have been why it was too spicy for you or perhaps it’s just a personal preference, it’s hard to say. I haven’t experienced that but that doesn’t mean your experience is not valid. Maybe try half of all the amounts next time. Even ginger is spicy!
Way too spicy & the burning sensation was horrible! Was that due to the Cayenne, Turmeric or Ginger? All 3 together or should I remove the pepper? One thing for sure, I can't drink it "as is". Do you have any suggestions?
Word to the wise. Do not boil the water and blend. I just tried it and the whole mixture exploded out of the blender all over my wrist and the floor. So now I'm dealing with hot water burns all over my arm.

Do add pinch of black pepper it actually increases absorption of turmeric :)
I'm so glad you mentioned not needing the black pepper. I was wondering if it was necessary when using the whole herb.

I've made my own chai spice blend and simply add turmeric and a few drops of avocado oil or ghee and stevia.
