As an Australian I can honestly say the situation is much much worse! The middle class is the new poor. Your pay only gets your bill's and rent paid. You either have to be a millionaire to survive in Sydney, or be lucky enough to have a property owned outright that was handed down to you. Most people in there 30's in Sydney share a rental property with 3 or 4 people, the rest would still live with there parents because you can't survive from the cost of living. Melbourne is almost as bad. Our governments ruined this country for under the table deals and now we are picking up the pieces.

The only reason Australia on paper is performing well is because its being supported by chinese investment. The average Australian is suffering greatly due to this foreign investment. Cost of living sky high. The NSW government is only in a good financial state because almost every asset has been sold. I don't know how you get to that conclusion. Actually fix assets are the best assets to sell. Its becomes capital injection to the country and no physical assets is leaving Australia. When Australia sell wool, iron ore and coal those resources really leave Australia. The houses Chinese buy never leave Australia. The Aussies can build many more houses with the money they got from Chinese buyers.

Hi,im chinese,I can provide you some information. At the national level, most of China's state-owned enterprises have branches in Africa, especially those involved in infrastructural projects. We provide loans, all the raw materials and workers are basically from China. The longest railroad in Africa is built by the Chinese Company. At the private enterprise part, businessmen and the rich in Fujian Province in China started to set foot in the African trade market several decades ago. some powerful cellphone manufacturers and TV manufacturers have business in africa. These companies only research and develop mobile phones that are sold in Africa, In the fast-growing smartphone market in Africa, leading companies are not Apple Inc. or Samsung Electronics, but the not-so-famous Chinese company SHENZHEN TRANSSION HOLDINGS LIMITED. The company has won the favor of consumers for cell phone features introduced in the local market.such as Africans who like louder music ,water and drop resistance.

Well from a Indigenous perspective I suppose at least China is buying Australia .
Not stealing Australia like the English did back in 1778.
At the end of the day the world is changing from a contemporary perspective .
Goods move , people move, and cultures wether we like it or not eventually change.
The world through globalisation is becoming smaller and smaller.
Xenophobia causes fear and fear leads to division.
What is the issue , as long as people respect each other , and the country they walk on.

Here comes the key question: Is an Australian Chinese a Chinese or an Australian? If she or he is a Chinese not Australian, then what about an Australian European?
Another fact for your reference: UK used to own the whole city center of Shanghai.

Sean CHOW These Chinese people have driven up the price of home prices by more than 250%. They must be allowed to buy only when they give 300% tax on the price on the house. Also, they are culturally destroying Australia by setting up their chow food shops everywhere. They must be banned immediately. Sydney in 2017 was looking like more Beijing with Chinese faces in the crowd outnumbering the whites by 10 to 1.

Jackie Li Hi Jackie. Thanks. This video is targeted towards the Chinese nationals who are buying up a lot of Australian land and dairy and farmlands, funded by the government bank of China. Chinese Australians are Australians only and they are not the problem. Problem is overseas investments funded by very cheap interest rate loans by the People's Bank of China, which is being given to the Chinese Nationals. This needs to be regulated and higher tax must be introduced by the Australian government.

As usual some elements of this story are being left out. Unlike Canada; foreign buyers cannot just buy a suburban house outright. They must either construct a new house or renovate and extend an existing house. The cabinet minister Joe Hockey became enraged when a Chinese millionaire purchased a house in his rich Sydney suburb. The Chinese got around the law by constructing a tool shed. Joe Hockey took personal involvement in this case. The worst case I've seen of foreign ownership is a Chinese company taking a 99 year lease on a port in the Northern Territory. I wonder where they got that idea? HK

Qwe Li Nah mate, you see the aboriginal people still live in the country and most have moved on and are enjoying the rewards of what the white people have contributed just like the Chinese. It’s very sad I think that most believe that the aboriginals had everything taken and were all killed off when in fact they were treated mostly equal and live on in this country with more benefits then what many white Australians receive from the government. In other words are you saying that it’s okay for Chinese investors to come into Australia and buy land at an enormous rate which bumps prices up to a point that will financially cripple most average Australians from buying their own house just because they paid our rich who have a monopoly on our housing market. It’s ok to destroy the kids futures that were born in the country because of some deluded thinking that Australians stole their land, even if this means that Aboriginal Australians will be locked out of the housing market aswell.

    • @qweli2095
      @qweli2095 6 лет назад +7

Joel Smith-Lowe Killing parents but giving fairly treatment to children doesn’t sound nice. Also I watch an American talk show, and that professor was talking about property owner issue in Australia. He pointed out that it’s totally misleading for those Australian medias was saying about rise in price of prosperities in Australia cause by Chinese. He showed that the official investigation found only about approximately 3% of house properties were owned by Asian (including Chinese) and Australian medians have never given a reliable date about how many Chinese own houses there. It’s not the secret that Australian government and media target Chinese as national threat. Demonizing Chinese as national threat. If you read the news in Australia, you will see they always say that Chinese oversea students are CCP spies, and this is reflected in Australians’ minds. That caused local people hate Chinese.

I was expecting to hear the answers on the following questions:
    - how much Chinese invested in Australian assets during the last 10-20 years,
    - breakdown of investments by industry,
    - top 10-20 largest investments with names of Chinese and Australian companies,
    - why Chinese invest in Australian,
= what Australian government did and did not do to make it happen?
    - What is the share of Chinese investments in Australia compare with other country investors?
    - what are the problems and issues with these investments?
    Etc..
I hope you will be consider this in your next videos and maybe even do part 2 for this video.

We, Australia have to cease trading with China. Doing that we will go broke for a few years until our industry catches up. If we don't stop trading with China, we will not only go broke but also be owned by China.
I purchase many things from China because they are not manufactured in Australia.
I can purchase an electronics item for $1 including postage from China. That item has about 20 components on it some of which would cost at least $1 in Australia. The parcel arrives at the Chinese post office in Sydney and Australia post forwards the parcel to me in North Queensland for no cost to China or me. If I was to mail this parcel to Sydney it would cost at least $3. Can you see how China is screwing us?

I find it wierd that people are fixated on the chinese buying properties. But not when they are buying alarmingly steep amounts of public stocks from american and australian companies like apple, telstra, walmart, amazon, google, etc.
Those american companies are not owned by the government, or it's own people but increasingly by foriegn nationals who are also their shareholders. But with property, I guess it's just more visible compared to purchasing shares.
When the american stock market goes up, it's the unnoticed masses of chinese shareholders that get rich and happy.

There is a cap on foreign ownership in Australia for China. Funny it's okay for the English and American companies to dig up all our gold and export it. We do have double standards when it comes to who can exploit us.
It's what happens when you have the worlds most corrupt politicians. Australian politicians hide behind legislation they create, the cowards. Unlike third world countries where they are corrupt to your face.

Australians can buy it back , but they are too selfish and to ignorant to see the possibilities.
    It's as easy as 1.2.3.
But you need cooperation and honesty to do it.
And within a couple of years every Australian has their own home without owing a cent .
But this want happen because of above reasons

In Melbourne my local Milk Bar is a Pty Ltd Company. The people who appear to own the Milk Bar have no idea how to run a Milk Bar: the shop has no stock snd what few goods are on the shelves are not what customers typically purchase. I wonder if the family who appear to own the Milk Bar are employees of the Pty Ltd Company and, if so, how many more family Milk Bars have been taken over. The corner Milk Bar gave many newcomers to Australia their start in the country and their children went on to become the doctors, lawyers and even politicians.

Unfortunately money coming in to countries seems to be based upon geographic location and transport costs....to sell to further away countries quality in product needs to go up to convince countries to pay more....in transport and product.
