Bet Kemi Badenoch also thinks the Winter Fuel Allowance, Pension Credits and state pension are also excessive and Labour haven’t gone far enough. You know taking money from working people to give to another group 😏
She is one of those 'I'm alright Jack' people, doesn't care about other people for a second. The idea that others can't just quit a job to have a baby doesn't concern her. If it did, she wouldn't of said what she said.
@nighttrain1236 fair enough. Then why should I pay for those receiving benefits? Why isn't the system fair for everyone? I have to pay for my own kids and pay for someone else, so they can live better than me?
Well in the old days a lot of people lived very close to their parents so childcare was shared and a lot of women didnt work or only worked part time. Many women i worked with over the years wished they could have afforded not to work and only worked after their child/children reached 5 and then worked part time in term time only until tneir child/children reached 16.
She wants us to be like America where women have to go back to work a couple of weeks after giving birth. Most parents need two incomes coming in to afford to have children at all, lucky her that she had enough money to not have to claim maternity pay.
I'm concerned by the size of the welfare state as it's become unsustainable. However people cannot afford to have children which will inevitably lead to the death of the country
Hamish Badenoch Kemi’s husband is worth an estimated £2m in wealth derived from his senior banking career. They can afford maternity career breaks that are not available to most women.
Even if this was true, it isn't, he seems to have forgotten that it was the Tories who were in power for the last 14 years so they are not only the cause, but could not be arsed to do anything about it when in power! FFS!
It’s very cold today and I refuse to put the heating on , so it’s blankets on the sofa time for us ! The Labour government should give up their heating allowance that would save more! I could forgive them, if they’d said we will find the money this year, however next year it will not be paid ! This would give us time to save for next year !
Around 85% of us don't need it. Instead of buying blankets i bought insulation now the heating doesn't need to be on, the Tories scrapped all the insulation programs and building standards aren't up to the task. Also fitting it keeps you warm
@@SlowhandGreg I have very good insulation in my very small 3 bed semi ! And I agree there are people who don’t need it however there are more that do !

Maternity pay is to much why should the tax payer subsidise pregnant women I work in a big company they get 12 months off and when women come back they want family friendly hours don’t want to work Mondays or Fridays, if you want kids you should understand they are expensive
If you make the decision to have children, it is YOUR responsibility to make the necessary financial arrangements to raise them. Stop expecting everyone else to pay for it. Makes me sick how some entitled mothers today want it all, the career, the childminder, paid time off because they expect special treatment, and if they choose not to work they want benefits to pay for it. What a country.
Why on earth should anyone expect to get paid for their conscious decision to stop working for a few months ? If I decide to go on a round-the-world cruise, should I expect my employer to fund the trip ?
It seems the people of this country have no hope of getting a fair deal clearly both main parties are determined to totally break the people of this country its disgusting
More out of touch views by silly little politicians... Thinking they are god. Maternity leave and pay are fare and just... So stop trying to make yourself look like a ungrateful person

Pensioners need to stop moaning losing their WFA. Most of them can afford it. The threshold for claiming it needs to be more accessible for poorer pensioners but otherwise the pensioners should stop the costa coffees and avocados on toast.
What a revolting person

She was working class when she worked in McDonald’s so she thinks she knows it all
But why do I need to pay for other people to have multiple babies?
UK has some of the worst Maternity cover in Europe - still miles better than US which has basically nothing.
My maternity allowance is less than half my salary. Its pathetic 😢
How's maternity pay in India
Why should someone else pay for your kids?

They have nothing new to say and we have 14 years to see what they did in cabinet when they did.
If you can afford not to work then maternity pay is irrelevant. Most women/households aren't in that position
She wants us to be like America where women have to go back to work a couple of weeks after giving birth. Most parents need two incomes coming in to afford to have children at all, lucky her that she had enough money to not have to claim maternity pay.
Kemi Badenoch is an intensely unlikeable politician. We need a proper opposition. With her in charge, the Tories are doomed for a generation.
I like her
Thats why i really hope she gets the job
Jeez, labour party going after oap's and tories after women on maternity leave. What is actually going on
You vote for the same 2 parties and they start to think they can do whatever they want, just a matter of time before it's their turn.
Means testing the WFA is hardly going after pensioners especially given the state of the economy
I'm concerned by the size of the welfare state as it's become unsustainable. However people cannot afford to have children which will inevitably lead to the death of the country
Stop funding young men coming here
Means testing isn't the issue hundreds of millions in extra profit for utility companies is the real issue here
Wasn't her ilk preaching how the "English" aren't having enough children? Make your mind up.

Don’t make food and utilities bills so high and maybe people wouldn’t need help, politicians better start listening
The tory party is a dead party.
Years ago maternity was 12 weeks when I had my babies. It was awful having to leave a baby at 12 weeks to go back to work.
