The lad asked to leave. Pep has always said if a player wants to leave he will not stand in their way. He wasnt going to play every match for Man City and Chelsea told him he will be star boy. End of story.
He actually earned his spot.
@@eddiebles_ Who earned what spot?
@@David-zl9qwthe pimple on your forehead
Asked to leave because pep wasn’t playing him…
He asked to leave because they clearly chose Foden as their star boy, and he didn't have to earn that.
Technically Martins right. Think of this way, how long has Bernando Silva wated to go to Barcelona? Why hasn't Pep ever let him go? He didn't expect Palmer to get to this level and that's alright
Yeh I'm not sure what Simon's problem is 😂
At the end of the day Pep could've kept Palmer if he really wanted to.
But again that’s hindsight
@1995davidg of course it is. But....IN HINDSIGHT.....you can say that Pep made a bit of mistake letting him go....
It's not that deep
@@thewengerinn5555 how do you define that sale as a mistake? City have won more trophies than Chelsea when palmer was sold
@1995davidg I can't stand people like you.... 😓
It's not completely unreasonable to say selling Palmer was a mistake is it....!? Surely even you, with your head in the sand, can understand why someone might say it was a mistake? ffs 😂
Yes City have won stuff.... but, once again, you could argue that Palmer would improve City if he was still there 🤷
Martin Keown is absolutely insufferable. Knows nothing outside his beloved Arsenal. Why is he employued?
Same case for many ex players known as "pundits" just biased and full of themselves
Because it's funny watching hit her ripped. Bloke is clueless
Why are you unemployed?
So basically every pundit then? 🤣
Have you seen the other pundits? He's like Einstein compared to most!
Grealish at City: £100m, 79 league appearances, 11 goals, 12 assists
Palmer at Chelsea: £40m, 39 league appearances, 28 league goals, 15 assists
Ouch.
Grealish at city - 3 pl , 1 ucl , super cup
Cole palmer at chelsea - 2 managers , 45 signings and no trophies
ouch
And why we still think that price tag is directly correlated to player ability is beyond me 🙄. It's a free market. If a player wants to leave it lowers the price, if a player is a "brand" it ups the price
@@HabitualLine-Stepper totally different players. Jack Grealish treble. Yeah OUCH. Clown
ts easier to stand out in garbage than d stand out amongst diamonds
Yeah, I’m sure City are really sad about Palmer as they lift their 5th league trophy and add it to all their other trophies
Keown loves Starmer in the Arsenal box.. pair of clowns
keown is a leftist clown
😆🤣❤️
Well said 👏👏👏

I’m not sure Jim White at this point even knows what his own opinions are anymore, all he does is say whatever he needs to say to fuel a fire.
I've said this for years. Offers nothing
That's his job. Keep conversations going.
@@ouhutra He's not keeping conversations going, he's dumbing them down and dragging them down to the lowest tabloid level of hyperbole and sensationalism he can muster. In doing so he actually prevents a discussion from reaching any kind of intellectual plateau. However, you are correct in saying that's his job but that doesn't make him and what he's doing any less insufferable.
Does anyone find the Jordan and Keown shows awkward? Simon obviously dislikes him. Why not have Souness on every Monday?
Simon doesn't like anyone.. he honestly comes across to me as someone who dislikes everyone until they have proven to be likeable in his eyes. I can't listen to the bloke he's just always ready for an argument
@@deano9898 He's a bit of a ring-wing psychopath but he's super bright, forthright and knows what he's talking about most of the time. He's head and shoulders ahead of 99% of bottom-feeding pundits, I just find the chemistry between these two uncomfortable. He gets on fine with Souness, Stuart Pearce, O Neill and Danny Murphy (who's too much of a boring mini-me).
@@ktkee7161Are you one of those genderless, left-wing bedwetters I've been reading about 🤔🤣
@@ktkee7161 With respect, I fear you expose your own intellectual limitations by over-estimating Simon Jordan's. How are you not seeing through him? He's not as bright as he tries to make people believe he is. He's often using words out of context, making words up and dropping constant malapropisms as he over-extends himself verbally, trying to sound clever.
He frequently bases his points on logical fallacies and strawman arguments. He uses mental gymnastics to try to win arguments, relying on the mental bluntness of the person he's debating to get away with it. He constantly uses word salads, making a metaphorical three course meal out of a cheese and onion sandwich, when a genuinely intelligent person would boil down a multifaceted issue into the simplest terms possible as a matter of efficiency and clarity, rather than making a topic even more convoluted, which Simon regularly does.
A sign of wisdom is saying more with less words, whereas Simon frequently does the opposite, using more words than necessary to express something quite simple.
@@deano9898 Very true. Simon has not learned the art of self-restraint. He just doesn't know when to wade in and when not to, and as a result, he wades in too often and ends up portraying himself as a petty contrarian.
Jim you haven't got a clue
He’s such a weasel. Look how he acts when he’s not speaking.
I stopped listening to this show a long time ago. White is just impossible for me to listen to and Simon just argues for the sake of arguing
@tristansh6364 yeah so you keep saying
Why is keown trying to save that hair on the top of his head 😂
He's drawing it on 🤣😂
Rather than debate whether or not Pep and City were wrong let’s praise a young lad that chose to leave a dominant side for game time. He could have stayed and picked up medals getting maybe 20 games a season. Instead he backed himself and left. Good lad, keep going and stay humble
Exactly.Well put.
This just makes up for Chelsea loosing De Bruyne to City.
Chelsea lost him to Wolfsburg.
@@robertmclellan3658we didn’t loose him we sold him.
Also similar Salah to eventually liverpool
@@robertmclellan3658irrelevant
Chelsea sold KDB to Wolfsbarg, and City paid £55 million to Wolfsbarg to get KDB.😮
Well said Simon, the whole of talksort got on the chelsea bashing at the start of the season.
Now there quiet!!
W--k--s
Now they are quiet = they're, not "there".
Southgate benched him all tournament. Tells you all you need to know about him.
Jim White? That guy’s like a carton of milk that expired during the Stone Age, but someone just keeps putting him back in the fridge hoping it’ll magically freshen up. Meanwhile, Martin’s hyping up Arsenal like they’re gonna finally live up to his childhood dreams. Sorry mate, but 2004 called-they want their optimism back.
At least Martin is an invincible so he has earned the right to talk unlike you
@@sundayosita588exactly my thoughts bro ,go empty the I sbud 😊
What an embarrassing comment 🙈🤡
Pep made a shocking mistake, doku and grealish 160 million and they’re average. Poor sell pep, got a great squad so got away with it.
I love Cole Palmer. He's absolutely amazing. I wish he played for Arsenal.
Palmer is better then doku and savinho who are two wingers who play for Manchester City, so if the people say man city made a mistake by selling him They are correct .
Agreed. He's better than Grealish too as he has way more end product and I would also say he's better than Foden, personally. I'd rather have Palmer in my team anyway than any of those lot.
Typical British Press... Massively build up a young player and the second he has a few bad games they will knock him down
Jordan said that in 2 weeks, if his performance dips, the media will be on his back
@@lakbirsinghjohal3333 he is right. Look at Rashford, he had one good season and he was talked about like he was the next coming of jesus, now look how everyone talks about him.
Everytime a young player shows promise they build him up to an impossible level
@@lakbirsinghjohal3333he literally said it in this video 🤦♂️ didn’t watch it did you?
@blinkin78 that's the reason why I made that comment, because I watched the video
Love Martin Mondays 😂
He's so clueless but dedicated to his cause 😂
Why is this guy talking like city haven’t already won the league 6 times without Palmer😂😂
Don't worry, he's talking to people with more than five brain cells to work with, so this discussion is not for you. Go watch a cartoon or something.
Salad and KDB didn’t come through our academy. I also don’t think either were sold directly to Premier League rivals.
Martin keaow is a clown arsenal have spend 800 million and they won one fa Cup man utd have spend well over a billion pounds and look at them and yes Everton spend loads and are fighting relgated every years so stop talking nonsense man 😂😂
Great show, we love your company Martin, however Cole leaving ddnt change anything about Man city.
Martin Keown with yet another one of his awful opinions
Yeah I'm sure Pep is overjoyed he sold Palmer now, he's positively buzzing about it inside.
Any young player would wanna leave the bleak north for the bright lights of London
Pep would turn Palmer into a robot
Like he did with Messi? 😂🤣 you people say anything for some likes.
@@LionHeart_1111 one example your amazing
Palmer wanted to leave, but that was on loan..Pep and City said it was either a sale or stay situation.
Keown is Utterly Clueless
Simon Jordan says “a car crash of a Chelsea team” what is this guy talking about? Chelsea finished 6th and scored 77 goals only Man city, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle scored more.
We have no injuries as an excuse this season so we will see how the “car crash” plays. 😂
I am shocked
This Same accusation was Pointed against Jose Mourinho when Chelsea sold KDB and Salah. Some young players don't want to be patient, no matter how much u try to convince them. You must also understand that these young players have family members in their 👂, telling them what to do. Don't blame pep or Mourinho, you can't keep everyone happy
And an agent in their ear trying to cause division to get a transfer
What about all those who left Arsenal under Wenger? A.Cole, RVP, Nasri, Fabragas, Clichy, Sanga, Henry, Vieira as many more that Wenger couldn't keep. Keown is such a poor pundit, so bias and selective.
Mourinho sold Mohammed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne. Guardiola, his adversary, took a leaf out of his book. Managers like those two want immediate success and have little patience for youth development. Erik Ten Hag is no different. Pochettino got him off on the right track and Maresca, the player and Chelsea are now benefiting from his hard work. Managers need to be scrutinised with discretion!
Letting Palmer and Alvarez go.....much better options than whats there now....plus more able to cover for the big man if he gets injured or tired! Grealish, Doku n Savio.....are not going to score many. Foden obviously can play there and B Silva but I think they prefer not to!
Arsenal let Van Persie, Cesc Fabregas and Ashley Cole go at their peak, and this was under Keowns "Guru" (Wenger). Palmer was a young kid trying to get into a treble-winning team, so give over Martin.
The double standard of this media personnel. They give mourinho and Chelsea grief for letting Mo Salah and KDB go. Now you not giving same energy to Pep 🤷🏽♂️
The lack of knowledge is hilarious. Cole Palmer confirmed himself that he asked to be loaned out, Pep refused saying he either was sold or would stay. So yes Pep did force him out.
It's very similar to when Chelsea sold De Bruyne. He wanted to be in the first team while we were on route to winning the league. We sold him because he didn't want to be a rotation option.
Doesn't mean Pep or Jose didn't rate the players.
This is such a nothing debate, the player wanted to leave so they allowed him to. If he had stayed at City he almost certainly would not be the player he is at Chelsea because he would’ve been just another forward in that team instead of the only good player at Chelsea. As for if City regret it, I’m not sure they’ve had time to regret it while they’ve been winning PL after PL plus the treble. Meanwhile all Palmer has to do is maintain his crazy good form, that’s should be easy as we never see players form change over time, while hoping the other 10 players around him start to be decent footballers so that maybe in 3 or 4 years Palmer can win a trophy too.
Let’s be honest, Pep sold KDB successor
Palmer said several times that he wanted to leave on loan but Pep said: you either staying or leave permanently
Pep not giving Palmer the minutes is the mistake. When theyre down in the Vanarama, Palmer will be winning UCLs.
Apparently there was also an attitude problem and he was fined for turning up to training late etc.. That being said i wish Newcastle had signed him and not Chelsea !
Don’t use clever words if you can’t pronounce them, Jimbo
😊Jim can't even say "FOOTball" correctly... he says FEWTball
@@lfcmonkeyyyman6229not a Liverpool fan taking the mick out of someone’s accent. Do yourself a favour pal 😂
Can someone PLEASE find some duck tape to cover White's big mouth with...
Palmer didn’t ask to leave… Pep and Palmer both came out and said it
Palmer ask for a loan and Pep told him no loan, you either leave or stay
40m for Palmer at that point in his development was a crazy buy for anyone not named Chelsea.
Palmer asked to go on loan and Pep said either you stay or you go. He didn't initiate the exit, Thank you Pepe
I think pep never valued cole palmer enough to want to keep him so he let him go. Keown is right here
But the fact palmer wanted to leave because his talent was overlooked, is a Pep error
He shouldn't have but he did as he doesn't keep those who want to go apparently it's to be respected
Palmer asked to go on loan and pep said no so he then asked to leave. It was a mistake to not let him go on loan
Google the answer Martin..without google its sounds like wah wah wah
palmer playing winger at the start of the season? thats news to me
Pity Palmer didn't start against city start of season
Pep not that good a manger 😂 letting palmer go 😂😂😂
Pep can't guarantee that player plays every Day
Who cares hes a Chelsea player now....super chelsea
Get rid of keown ,he is just so annoying to hear ,ARSENAL ARSENAL the only team in his head .Sala Debruyne cfc let go as they wanted to leave .
Like with any ex utd pundit who do nothing but talk about utd.
cold jermaine palmer
Hyne sight is a fools fore sight.
JUST SAY PEP MADE A MISTEAKE AND MOVE
Alex fergesson went n got any players he wanted, n new what he was doing, Look at the magic bit of business he did, getting Andy Cole from Newcastle..
Cole Palmer didn’t want to “leave.” He said in an interview that he wanted to go on loan and come back ready but never wanted to leave Man City. The club gave him the ultimatum of either staying or being sold. That’s when Chelsea came in for him and he then asked to be sold to Chelsea.
Jims naughty smile😂
Definitely a mistake letting him leave but he didn’t look that good at City. Moving to Chelsea has unleashed Palmer’s full potential. Signing Doku was definitely a step backwards
Palmer wanted to leave on loan Pep said no. They forced him to leave on a permanent. That's the part Simon isn't talk about.
I don't like United however this decision was disgraceful I'm an arsenal fan and I know how it feels to get decisions not as bad as that but decision but I would honestly smash my TV if that was given against my team 😂 also why r they bumlicking the ref
Wenger did exactly the same thing when Bentley knocked on his door. Wenger said no bide your time there's a lot of quality players in front of you. Bentley left.
Once you sell an English player the media descends on you like you sold a 21years old lionel messi, I could remember the same media killing pep for not going extra mile to keep Sancho, Sancho story died immediately he joined man utd and flopped, At pep level he can’t go extra mile to keep any player if you can’t have the required patient go and that is exactly what Palmer have done, if you think Palmer will play at city who are serious title contenders and get the same level of praises you are delusional, at Chelsea with or without trophies he will be praised, haaland wins golden boots and still be criticized everywhere for not doing something else even after winning epl and treble the previous season
How was Palmer "all potential" at City? He hit the ground running at Chelsea and was clearly already a top class player.
How was he not? He hadn't performed anywhere near that level at City, similar to Pique at United and Serge Gnabry at Arsenal
@@hegeliandianetik2009 He was the finished product. Pep just didn't see it..
If I'm the city manager at that time I'm selling paler for 20m if it comes,he did nothing he was unproven wouldn't u sell
You can appreciate the argument from both sides. But the easiest way to work out if Pep made a mistake or not is to look at Man city's last result away to Newcastle. What would Guardiola have given to be able to bring Cole Palmer onto that pitch when they were desperately chasing for a winning goal.
So yes, while hindsight is a wonderful thing, Man City definitely made a mistake letting Palmer go.
on a personal level, i've commented on these vids over the past 12-18 months thanking SJ for actually showing some balance on Chelsea, and a lot of people have laughed/ridiculed. I hope Simon shoves the 'I told you so' as far down Keowns throat this season as humanly possible
Chelsea is still not consistent. Soon this narrative will change when they hit a rocky wall soon. I'm not sure if they will make top 4 at all. Only time will tell.
Yes, City made a mistake in not finding a way to keep Palmer happy. However, given how they are, they simply didn't need Palmer. I'm not convinced he'd of worked out there given the other talent in the City squad. The mistake, if anything, was selling him to a PL rival (of sorts). Palmer is tearing it up at Chelsea because the style of play suits him - City's probably didn't.
Love how simon always deflects from chelsea by saying everyone spends obscene amounts of money, the biggest closet chelsea fan ever!!! and this is the man who takes pot shots at lfc who spend nowhere near the amount of money, chelsea city, united and arsenal have spent, simon we would of won the pl a lot more if it wasnt for chelsea and city spending obscene amounts of money 😂😂😂
Simon is loving chelsea at the moment. Thank you simon for constantly rejecting the negative chelsea/clearlake takes
Pep gave arsenal arteta, zinchenko, Jesus. He gave Chelsea maresca and a top player in palmer. Pep is craving a challenge.
9:19 did Jim really compare palmer scoring 4 goals at the weekend to city winning a treble??
And these shits get money to talk this drivel ... Am the loser though for watching this !
This performance from CP was to tell the manager I play full 90!!
Man I couldn’t stop laughing listening to the stuff Martin says. It’s so peculiar hhaha
Keown is right to some extent. The mistake was selling him to Chelsea, rather than another team
Man City will pay 100m for him and he'll go back.
He wanted to stay he wouldn’t let him leave on loan peps mistake hope it gives him sleepless nights 😂
Palmer wanted a loan and man city said no u staying or being sold.
Thank u again man city
Love jim but how irritating must it be for the other two every time he talks over them. Does it all the time 🥴
Palmer wanted regular playing time and I don't think Pep has ever been the kind to hold onto a player against their will. As good as Palmer is, he wasn't going to displace Foden, Silva or Doku/Grealish. There would have been no guarantee that his development/progress would've been the same under Pep because he has a very particular tactical approach.
If a player wants to go its simple good luck to him😂😂😂😂
Should have been the poty instead of Foden and best player in the premier league? He’s now top 3 in Europe
Jim saying “hyper-bowl” 😂😂😂
He wanted to go on loan and Pep said no,leave. That was a mistake
Simon always bullies keown… don’t need to even watch the video
Martin is in the mood to start a fight in an empty room.
On form, he is the best. in terms of overall ability, no.
B4 I even wake it Martin got bullied AGAIN
Palmer sounds like he just came in on a dinghy.
He wanted to leave on loan they say no, you stay or you leave
Is that clown Keown drawing his hair on 🤔😂🤣
Oscar bobb was gonna breakout this year it’s so sad
Palmer did not play RW at any point this season.
