Thank you sir! Thanks a million. I just had to post this to express my gratitude for sharing your genius idea. You didn't have too but you did it to help others. There are still good people out there!!
Here is my long story. Three years ago I had that problem with my GMC Yukon XL. Since I drive for Uber and Lyft, my ratings plummeted because of that annoying rattling noise. Brought it the dealer who charged me $1300 to replace the whole rail that seats on the floor. At least that is what they said they did.
Fast forward, 1 month ago I upgraded to a 2020 GMC yukon XL . Drove two weeks and the same freakish noise was right back. Just the idea of spending another $1300 was giving me nightmares with my eyes widely opened. Finally decided to go on youtube to see if there is DIY fix I could try. Then, I felt on your video. I read ALLLLLL the comments. Didn't want to miss a bit. Washers, felt tape, uneven number of washers....I did all of that!!! That noise left my car and left my life!!!!!
Be blessed sir and thanks again.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Thank you sir! This was driving me crazy for 2 years specially from the smaller seat in the right side. A few notes from my experience: I did it without removing the side plate cause I was worried I would break any clips, so I just rolled up the carpet a little and the 4 bolts were visible. Also there is a fifth smaller bolt that need some loosing too. And I guess the car in the clip is the long version (Suburban or Yukon XL) because in my shorter wheel base Tahoe, inserting the washers from the edge of the black plate (the one on the 3rd row seats side) was very hard as the floor has like a step up there, so I inserted it from the small openings in the black plate itself (scratched my hand and my wife hand too in the process but that's fine). The seat shaking won't be eliminated %100 but the noises are way less. I inserted 2 washers under the center and 1 washer under the right side, and didn't add any under the left side of the black plate. I assume it needs further experimenting to add and remove washers around each bolt till it is a perfect balance, but I'm happy with the current result. Thanks again sir

@@golferal Unfortunately, the rattling is back. I did find a way to fix it for now. I installed two small pieces of bicycle inner tube around the latching rod on the floor and secured each end with a tie wrap. It does make the seat a little harder to latch down but it will if pushed firmly. A wrap or two of electrical tape might be just as effective but I have not tried it. The washers didn't really change the geometry of the latching mechanism and that is where the issue was in my case. I have pictures of what I did but don't see any way to attach to this reply.

For the good of any future readers, I used 5/16 x 1-1/4 thick fender washers. I was concerned about any slippage of discs within each stack I created, so I super-glued the 2-3 I used to themselves when building a stack.
