I swear my girlfriends step-dad replaced his original one at 180,000 then again at 400,000mi then sold it lmao... he said it only cost him 1500 to swap it to. No joke these are solid and will be on the road for awhile.
The 8.1L and 6.0L have the 4l80e transmission in them that is rated for 280,000 miles. I always wished GM could have hooked that transmission to the 5.3L as well.
Bought mine with Yukon 2004 SLT XL 1500 300k miles from 1 owner family man, tan / gold color for 1800$ pulled every single thing out, shampoo washed it, redid the headliner, front leather seats, new hood, pan gasket, power steering motor and so many other things and it looks and drives brand new, I just basically extended the life of it to 400-450k miles easy! I’m 5k in and it’s so worth it and it looks and feels safe, sexy and it’s a head turner.
Cant go wrong buying a GMT800 . My 2002 Tahoe currently has 341,000 miles on it.I bought it from the original owners with 294,000 miles. He had every receipt and record of maintenance from new. I did have to have the 4l60E transmission rebuilt at 310,000. Since then I have been on three different cooast to coast trips and back, truck never skipped a beat.
@@5startech1 Damn that’s it…why do places only offer up to 1 year warranty…I mean if the stocks from the factory will go 20+ years and 200,000+ miles, then why can’t we get like at least a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty or more? Especially if a lot of parts are “upgraded” with better ones… I would just feel a lot better/more justified spending $1,000+ if it was guaranteed for at least 3 years, you know?
@@karinash9373 I'm sure AAMCO offers a longer warranty but at a higher price. You could roll the dice and buy one at the salvage yard. Mine was rebuilt two years ago and I have almost 50,000 miles on it since. I've been on 4 coast to coast trips since and no issues.
I bought a 2001 Yukon SLE with a 5.3 Vortec last year after I survived a near fatal accident. I new next to nothing and I started doing research on the 800 platform and the engine. My buddy told me how they are tanks and can take a good beating and still power on through. I see at least a half dozen a day in my home town, so that tells me how reliable they are. My engine, whom I've named Frankenstein only has 69k original miles. I was blown away by how popular those engines are and how durable they can be. Do your maintenance and never neglect it. Take care of your auto, and your auto will take care of you.
Bought my 2006 Yukon XL Denali in February of 2015 as the second owner with only 74k on the clock. 9 years and 120k miles later and I still get it in every day and smile as I start it up. It’s an absolute tank and I love it for all the same reasons. I’ve done most of the maintenance repairs in it myself, with the exception of a few big ticket items like the transmission rebuild. They’re crazy easy to work on, parts are easily accessible and fairly inexpensive, and so crazy comfortable to drive everyday. Keeping mine til the wheels fall off. lol
These Yukon xl’s and tahoes sell for so cheap compared to the trucks of the same years it’s crazy. If you don’t absolutely need a truck bed then it’s a great purchase and will last for decades if taken care of
I have a 03 suburban Lt. It has over 313000 miles on it and starts up every time. My wife and I love it. She says it's like driving a lazy boy chair. My grandkids love. We deck it out with Christmas lights and go light touring. Plenty of memories in it.
Bought at 04 Tahoe 4.8L with 250k miles, now it's at 306k. Have had to get the 4L60E rebuilt at 260k because the previous owner never serviced it, only other 'major' repairs was the radiator cracked and needed a new battery.
I have an 04 Denali XL AWD. Absolutely love love love these trucks. Mine has the 6.0. Love the power and super comfort these trucks have. They drive so nice and handle great.
They were made from 1999-2006. In 2007 is when they went to active fuel management that turns off cylinders. Nothing but problems with that generation of engine.
I bought a 2005 2 owner post Covid Yukon XL SLE 2wd 180k for 4,000. Texas owned and zero rust. I did have to put about 2k into it, but it was mostly normal maintenance stuff. Knock sensors, airbag sensors, water pump, evap solenoid. I went ahead and did the brake flush, coolant flush, differential flush, transmission flush. I absolutely agree about the comfort and seats. I actually find this more comfortable, than a lot of newer SUV’s. If you buy one, get it checked out and don’t be afraid of maintenance stuff. These are incredible reliable, but you will have small stuff fail. Keep up with all the fluid changes.
I just picked up a 2005 Escalade Shorty - one owner - 131k miles. Very minor rust and small issues to fix, but the rest is perfect. Interior is near mint under all of the dirt. GREAT trucks.
I bought my 2002 5.3 Yukon with 99k miles in May 2020 for $3500 when my neighbor could no longer drive and it has given me 0 problems swap the shocks & leaf springs off a 2003 Yukon 2500 & it tows my 24ft travel trailer with ease I LOVE THIS SUV GMC DID GOOD MAKING THESE BAD BOYS!
My '02 YukonXL died a couple months ago with 352,000 miles. It was a sad day, as I'd owned that one for 17 years. I bought it with 93,000. To replace it, I bought a '05 Z71 Suburban. Love this gen truck.
i have an 03’ Denali XL 6.0 w 194K and i absolutely love it. I need to do a video on it bc it’s such a tank, intake, exhaust, tuned, apple carplay stereo, replaced the factory rear entertainment screen w a 19” screen w HDMI inputs, 7” screens in the headrests, backup camera, escalade LED gauge cluster swap, 22” wheels w/ 305s all around, and I’m just getting started
Nice. Been daily driving my White '04 Yukon XL SLT for years. It's at 158k. Been back and forth across country. Got the LM7 with original 4L60 (rebuilt). And the Eaton G80. 18" 2017 Z71 5-spokes plasti dipped. I don't have a problem with Z71 rims on a GMC YXL. The GMC SUburban was around forever until the GMT800 (I think if I remember anything anymore) Zero rust. Removed badges, door bumpers and grandpa sidesteps. Bought it out of Palmdale California. If you run the 18s you can add the larger GMT900 front brakes. You might want that option. All best.
Got mine for 13k at 120k miles no rust perfect frame and with a brand new transmission, it was a steal. I just spent 1500 to restore it recently. Didnt need much work at all. Clean interior, fabric upholstery, and front seat is a bench, 3rd seat in the middle.
Very nice truck/SUV you've got there, Used to have a very old version of this Suburban: a 1973 one but these things here are impossible to drive here since our tax system will punish you for driving a Heavy Large Barge like this. For this Suburban you've got there we pay road-tax $ 509,- every 3 months (so $ 2,036 every year) , gas is probably like 1liter per little less then 4 Km so like 1Gallon per 10 miles (=16 Km) so at our price of Euro 95 gasoline is like $ 1.95 per liter so $ 7.41 per gallon so at an average of 10,000 miles a year makes $ 7,410 + 2,036= $ 9,446 per year and then there is of course maintenance of $ 1,000 per year makes $ 10,446 every year. So this grand car will cost you about $ 1,000,- every month here in The Netherlands, which explains why you don't see these kind of trucks/suv's here that often. It really is all about the weight of the car (road tax is based up on weight of a vehicle: the heavier it is the more you pay) and the gasoline prices here. So be happy to be financially able to drive this Suburban, many people would love to have one just like yours, but due to different legislation in the different countries, the wish to own one basically stays a wish to own one since owning one is virtually impossible in other countries like The Netherlands. And yet I do have a Fire Engine Red 1987 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc-Z28, 305 V8, manual gearbox, Convertible; all original, except the tires. Yes a true convertible: one of 744 build in 1987 ;-)
WOW!! Dutchy thank you for that info, here in the USA it is Much more possible to drive a Large Barge...I have heard (or read) of simular costs to operate over Seas. I had a 1979 Camaro with a V8 it was sweet...Having Worked at Sea in Alaska and Canada...and not giving my 2003 Yukon XL a name it will now be known as THE BARGE !!😄
Have an 02 Yukon XL SLT, bought it a few years ago with 154k, changed just about everything in it, replaced every oil, and I fixed all rust and repainted, little lift and new tires, and I have a super reliable daily driver that I haul the family in for about a fraction of what a new truck costs. If you find one, even one that’s a little rough and your willing to put money and maintenance into it…go for it! You will not be sorry, these are so versatile and comfortable!
@@MRIVERA4396I bought a 2005 xl for 400$. It has a coolant leak(needs water pump replacement) and an oil pressure issue, which I think is caused by another leak. The sensors are also going haywire and all but the drivers side window don't work. The car feels strong and solid and I can tell it has a couple more years of life left in it, I'm just wondering if you think it's worth spending a few grand on? It was basically free so I don't mind spending money, I just don't wanna spend a few thousand and have it croak in me when I could have used that money to save and buy something better.
@@dboi4952 if the body is in good condition, no rust or major rust and you have the stomach to get all of the issues fixed. I say go for it! What are your other options? Buy a brand new $70,000 truck? If you take care of all these issues, you’ll have a good truck on your hands.
@@dboi4952Usually on that generation it is the o-ring on the oil pump pickup tube that is causing it to have low oil pressure. Hopefully that is all that is wrong.
Bought an 05 LT Z71 with 196k for $2500. It had a really bad tick and I figured I was looking at an engine which is why the 1 owner sold it for so cheap. Turns out the pickup tube oring was chewed up causing low oil pressure and it was a $300 repair. Absolutely love this truck and will never sell it. Like you said, it’s sort of a sleeper and if you know you know. If the 5.3 ever craps out I’ll likely upgrade to a 6.0. The perfect daily imo
I've got a 2002 Yukon XL that needed a motor that I happened to have a 6.0. Mine has 250k plus but the replacement engine only has 120k. Looking forward to getting her out to start minor restoration on looks and function. Good luck and great buy.
@@beardedreviews I'm thinking the same. It has a 6.0 already being a Denali and it's AWD all the time. Slight difference in LQ4 and the LQ9 but for what I paid I'll be ok. Wish I had the place, tools and time to have done myself with buddies and beer on a weekend but oh well. Going to enjoy driving when it does get finished.
@@a.j.s.8049 Oh, you already had a 6.0. I didn't know you had the denali. I think maybe down the road if my engine ever goes bad, I would put a 6.0 and 4L80e in it
@@beardedreviews Indeed, the 4L80 will be my next upgrade. I was very surprised GM didn't put them in these with the 6.0. I should have mentioned in the beginning it's a Denali, my bad.
I bought a 2005 Yukon XL 5 years ago. ( A friend found it at a local auction, and called me on the phone " You have to buy this from me,...I never see these at an auction, in such great shape" ).... It had 144,000 miles, and in PERFECT- garaged-1 owner- trade in at a GMC dealership ). It is in nearly original condition...No rust, paint perfect, body has 2 little "door dings"..... Bumpers are perfect. Interior immaculate, from bottom to roof liner. My only repair was replacing a rear door window assembly ( $80 bucks and my 1 hour of labor )..... I have replaced all fluids ( so I know the current history ).... Upgraded front brakes to "PowerStop" calipers/rotors ... but nothing was worn. The Yukon has 171,000 miles and STILL perfect !! The engine bay is 'showroom' clean.... I replaced the silly- designed air intake to the 'Airaid' and it has a nice sound, and easier to clean around it. Even though it ran good, I replaced the spark plug wires to the 'OEM style' but nicer Edelbrock wires. I love this "truck/limousine". ( I just replace the battery every 3 years because I live in S. Florida ).....
I have a 2000 silverado with a manual transmission, with 180,000 miles on it. Replaced the brake lines and the alternator is all. Runs like the day I bought it. Great trucks for reliability. Hope to run it for another 180,000.
these have been growing on me lately. The one tony soprano drove in the show is so boxy and perfect! Iv'e been looking at a low mileage silverado pickup, GM honestly made these well.
Bought an 02 yukon denali 4 years ago. I've had 2 issues in my ownership so far. AC blower went out, replaced. ABS censor went out, and replaced. I've driven this thing from houston to chicago, several times. These things are bullet proof
I recently picked up an 01 Suburban with 472,000km (295k m). My wife has wanted an 8 seater for a while and hates minivans. We got it cheap because the 4wd wasnt working. So far this month ive fixed the t-case shift motor, front hub, front driveshaft ujoints, TPS, rear glass release button and blower motor. Still need to change out the front seats and put new window regulators in the rear doors.
Nice! I've never tried any transfer case stuff. Scares me lol. Window regulators are super easy though. Oreilly and autozone have them with the motors attached for less than 100
@@beardedreviews Make sure you check that T.C. Look for oil at the upper pass. side coming from a pinhole. There's an oil pump with 4 sheetmetal tabs that lock into rear magnesium case to hold it in place. Quite possible for all oil to leak out and burn it up. Mine still had half it's oil and was rebuilt. They can put in a " Pump Saver " which is a large washer with 4 tabs to protect case. Then it just needs "J.B. Weld " to seal up holes from the outside and a pretty permanant fix. Lots of vids about this fix. '04, Z71, Burb. 200 K
@@beardedreviewsI rebuilt the transfer case with the floor shifter on my 2003 last year after I paid $400 for a good used one at the junkyard. It really is true when they said it costs more to rebuild than getting a good one from the junkyard. It cost me $500 in just parts, but I wanted to have a spare on hand and I wanted to see if I could do it!
I also figured an EASY solution to mount a rear 'dash cam' onto the rear - upper glass. The hatch & glass opens as normal,.... the cable is well hidden. ( I wish I can send you pics... It's a neat trick ) I took pictures !
I do have a 2005 tahoe and it has 300,000 original miles and is still going with the original 4l60e transmission and for those who dont know the only weak point for any of the ones with 6 lug wheels or 1500s is the 4l60e and 4l65e they just like to fail for no reason but I honestly think it is because people beat on them when they are not built for that
@@beardedreviews all it is just not beating on it and changing the fluids every 100K for me I did originally have a LB7 duramax but I had to part it out due to frame rot and it only had 97,142 miles and it was a manual too I miss having that soo much
@@breakinggames6356 Yea I'm not really sure what the previous owner did as far as maintenence so I'm planning fluid changes for everything. Going to start with the oil first and go from there
Hey bro it’s crazy , I never started thinking about all the things you were saying about how good these trucks are. I’m in Tucson Az and tomorrow I’m picking up my 04 Gmc Yukon Denali XL. I will send you a picture tomorrow and the guy who I’m buying it from did a lot of upgrades to it. I payed 6k for mine. It has 170k on it. The mileage was the only thing that kinda worried me, after hearing you say that if you find one with 200k on it your still in good shape. I’m reallly looking forward to hauling the boat on It and taking some trips on it and ITS WHITE also. Haha😊😊
Got my 05 Tahoe base with only 63k and just rolled over 100k. Govt auction vehicle with no options but it will go anywhere and the interior doesn't feel outdated and more comfy than newer versions to me. New vehicles that can tow are hard to find under 40k. Go buy this if you get the chance, do the maintenance and you can hit 250k easily!
ive had an 03 suburban z71,05 suburban LT autoride, an 02 silverado LT (with 335k on it), and i currently have an 04 z71 tahoe with only 189k on it and i love these.
I have an 06 Denali and I always look forward to my half hour drive home after working in a shop all day. I love the leather seats and the newer ones have always been a disappointment to me compared to these. They look great too and I think they lost that after these GMT800s went away.
I’m so stuck between the gmt800 and the gmt900 trucks 🥲 I like the boxy modern look of the 900s but I want the comfort and low profile of the 800. Someone give me insight on what should I choose
The low profile comes in handy as well. My girlfriend drives a GMT900. I have a GMT400 and a GMT800. Both of mine you can just sit right in. The 900 you have to always climb up into. Kind of annoying. Seats are also way worse on the 900
I bought a 2001 Yukon Xl new. Still have it with 150k miles on it and it still runs like new. Lots of cargo space even with the 3rd row seats up. With 3rd row flipped up. Wow! With 3rd row out. Whoa! With 3rd row out and 2nd row flipped down.🤯 You can hall a lot of stuff in this sucker. As for rear seat passenger space. The second row is not the roomiest but not bad. Third row is not massive, but better than other 3 rows of the time. Today's vehicles have more leg and head room by comparison. But as for cargo space, it still can stand up to the best of todays SUV'S. Now some FYI on these years. On the Suburbans and Yukon XL's, the 3rd row is a single bench. On the Tahoe's and Yukon's, the 3rd row is like a 40/60 split. You can remove one or both. Another thing with the Tahoe and Yukon is that with the 3rd row in, there is very little rear cargo space vs the full size versions. Another difference between the full size and shorter versions is that the longer versions 3rd row seating area has a footwell that is flush with the rest of the passengers floor. In the shorter versions, there is no footwell. The floor matches the cargo area floor which is raised higher than the second row flooring. So for taller people it can be uncomfortable because your seat height will be close to the floor. I think this generation of body style looks the best if you are going for the offroad look with some modifications. The newer body styles look nice, but they don't look aggressive.
My 06 denali has 341k on it and I'd seriously take it anywhere without hesitation. I had a 2014 denali with every problem from electrical to issues with the afm/dod. I cut my losses and got out of it only to pick up an 04 with low miles and zero rust. Sure it needs some things redone but I honestly don't care what it needs, fix it and keep rolling. The older ones are by far the best and most reliable vehicles on the road. Newer doesn't always mean better.
I agree I've got 3 2 duramaxes and one gas 275,000 on the gasser 300,000 on my white Duramax 2500 and over 400,000 on my black 2500 normal wear and tear items like the front tie rods and hub bearings but that's typical of anything made since the late 90s-early 2000s even today the mistake people make is buying parts store hub bearings and front end parts and then whine about how they bite the dust shortly after replacing them you pay half the price you get half the life go buy OEM parts when something breaks buy once cry once BUT it should be noted that while these are technically part of the "LS platform" there are alot of differences between a true LS and a truck engine in this era one being the cast iron blocks on all the truck engines and 2ntheyre taller so don't think you're just going to plop a LM7 or an LQ9 right into a car without clearance issues with the hood you in most cases will need to choose a different intake manifold which if you're going for performance you should really do anyway
I got my yukonxl 1500 it’s an amazing truck currently adding a bigger sound system in it I installed a iPad 9th gen 10.2 inches did some custom work mines came with the heated seats and sunroof option mines is a 2004
I've always thought Suburbans were cool from seeing them in movies. I believe the first movie I saw with a Suburban was Twister, which had a black square body leading the antagonist convoy. I started doing research and fell in love with the Suburban history from being created to serve military forces back in 1930s to still being widely used today for the same purpose including the presidential motorcade and secret service still uses the gmt800 platform today, which says a lot about how well they were built. I found my 05 Suburban Z71 4x4 for just $2300. Yes it's high miles, but I will install a crate engine when it's time and the transmission is shifting perfectly. It was supposedly rebuilt shortly before I bought it. I loved it so much that I didn't hesitate to buy the gmt 900 07 Yukon SLT 4x4 for just $2500 with 100+k less miles than my Suburban has. The downside is it has AFM, that will be deleted eventually. The Yukon is mostly a pavement princess. While the Suburban is my overlander/camper that also can tow well. IMHO the Suburban/Yukon XL does everything a person could possibly need while carrying family, friends and luggage for a vacation while towing toys for the trip. I'm glad I got mine before prices skyrocket up. I don't know why GM never offered the Suburban with the Duramax 6.6L, the new ones have a small diesel but that's not what real enthusiasts want. Oh BTW, have you checked out GM Defense website? They've been keeping things tight lipped, but the government has entered into a contract with Cummins. Cummins will be providing the government with 4 cylinder engines that produce 1000hp! GM Defense has the new Suburban which is offered with a 4 cylinder diesel and the ISV which also uses a 4 cylinder diesel. Those Cummins engines are going to find their way into those GM Defense vehicles. The Suburban can handle the 1000hp, I have doubts about the ISV handling that power. Just last week or so a fatal testing accident happened on a military base. They are being tight lipped about it, but I'm thinking it was the ISV with that 1000hp engine.
Had a '03 Tahoe with over 250,000 mi but it was all highway so it was like mint condition loaded to the gills and I traded it in and got a 2016 Silverado had it for 2 years. The transmission went at 80,000 mi and the lifter started ticking after I had the transmission replaced. Got rid of it and now I'm in a 2004 Yukon Denali and I haven't been a happier and I'm so glad to be back. And honestly three days after purchasing that 2016 I didn't like it not even as soon as I left the damn dealership and I really got to drive in it. Too many computers. The cylinder deactivation is disgusting. The transmission is horrendous. It shifts like a bag of hammers too many gears. The only thing that thing does is look good. 14 to 19 looks good. That's it. Nothing else and the motors are decent. If you delete the AFM and build your transmission day one other than that if hot garbage... Part about these old trucks is Amira is $30. A door is $60. A bumper is 100 bucks to replace the solenoids in the transmission you just dropped the pan. Change the fluid. Replace the solenoids for like 200 bucks. Wheel bearings will drive past their life expectant date by about 50 to 100,000 mi and they're still grease fittings and mechanical hydraulic power steering stuff in a real fan on the engine with a clutch....... The new ones are basically tahoes with a bed and solid rear axle, but at the same time they don't even deserve to be called the Tahoe because the original ones are badass. The only thing I wish is that they made a two-door GMT800 full size blazer
Love the drivetrain in these trucks even the rare 8100 vortecs v8s!! I’ve been looking at these trucks as well as the second gen Escalades, I do notice that one frequent caveat particularly with the half tons is the transmission failures , but still I know that can be fixed for not too crazy amounts of money and you’re good to go!! I recommend maybe using upgraded trans coolers in many cases! Thanx for this coverage and tips🔥🔥🔥🙏🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I’ve got an 04 Yukon xl denali, bought it at about 150,000ish miles lifted it added quite a few more cosmetic mods even a train horn and I plan to add much more to it they run forever and if you had to get a engine transmission etc they’re easy to find and fix only thing I don’t like about them is the fact I get 8 miles per gallon 🤣
My 05 suburban is at 489k miles and still going strong. Cant say enough good things about the iron block 5.3. Do a couple key things and they will run forever.
Adding to my post below... Even though the engine bay is very-VERY clean, for some reason the TOP of the valve covers were dark & dirty under the coils (?? No leaking ). I cleaned them when I changed spark plug wires. ( still clean).... also I want to replace the plastic wire loom covers around the front suspension areas, with the 'Summit Racing' braided covers. ( one of these days)....
Whatever you do when you clean the motor do not get water underneath the intake manifold as you will short out your knock sensors as I learned the hard way
The most common issues with these vehicles are the stepper motors under the dash instrument clusters ABS brake module underneath the frame on the driver side and the knock sensors
i agree, I see older chevy trucks on the road alot, lots of rust but running for sure. between old chevys and toyotas thats about 95% of the older vehicles on the road.
90s and 2000s chevys were the beasts. Ive got 3 suburbans, a 99 a 92, and a 75. 92s got 304k, 99s got 213k and 75 has 173k. Also have a 97 Sierra with 248k miles. These trucks were built to last. Theyre solid. Only vehicle ive ever owned with higher miles is a mitsubishi mighty max with 412k. Chevy knew what they were doing.
Got a 2001 Yukon and it has 105.000 miles and runs and looks like new. I will go to the grave with this car if the feds do not take it away in the future.
too many common mechanical problems especially the knock sensors which requires major disassembly to replace, ABS module electrical issue, fuel pump issues requiring the tank to be dropped to replace, cheap plastic parts in the engine compartment that get brittle and break from heat including heater core connectors at the firewall, trans cooler INSIDE radiator leaks into cooling system, major issues major expenses
don't forget the water pump and the 4L60E lol But what car doesnt have any issues? There is a reason you still see these on the road everywhere, because they last. Even if you had one of those issues, it would still probably somehow get you home
I am looking to buy a 02 Yukon SLT with 148,000 miles just waiting for the dealer to fix the bad oil leak and "squishy" brake pedal Pos Air in lines) and poor brake performance. ( Oil was dripping pretty good after test drive) hoping it is just a oil pressure sending unit leaking and not a rear main as if that's the case I will change my opinion big time for the LS engines no reason for a rear main to leak at that mileage and prob stop looking for anything with a LS motor. It had a new fuel pump replaced at 50k which is good.it has just a bit of rust on back lower left rocker that's it seems the SUV's dont rust as bad as the trucks as most of them have the rear fender Wells rusted out good and way more rust on rocker panels.
Don't let the rear main scare you if its leaking. Its a pretty common problem. Any reputable shop outside of the dealership can replace it at a fair price. Figure somewhere north of $600

that 8.1 isn't easy to find AT ALL. Nice.
@@wafflebotus thank you very much.
That 8.1 is rare you have a rare vehicle
@@FroggyplayzTyyy absolutely.
Pic?? 👀
Cant go wrong buying a GMT800 . My 2002 Tahoe currently has 341,000 miles on it.I bought it from the original owners with 294,000 miles. He had every receipt and record of maintenance from new. I did have to have the 4l60E transmission rebuilt at 310,000. Since then I have been on three different cooast to coast trips and back, truck never skipped a beat.
gotta love them!!
Where did you get it rebuilt, for how much and what’s the warranty?
@@karinash9373 Durabilt transmission in Phoenix,AZ. $1200. 12 months 12000 miles
@@5startech1 Damn that’s it…why do places only offer up to 1 year warranty…I mean if the stocks from the factory will go 20+ years and 200,000+ miles, then why can’t we get like at least a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty or more? Especially if a lot of parts are “upgraded” with better ones…
I would just feel a lot better/more justified spending $1,000+ if it was guaranteed for at least 3 years, you know?
If you don’t absolutely need a truck bed then it’s a great purchase and will last for decades if taken care of
Im buying one Friday. Tried and True
Let’s keep it that way. I’d love to pick up a few more
I have a 03 suburban Lt.
I bought an 07 Tahoe 3 days ago. Dude thanks for helping me feel confident in my decision. Only 100k miles! Let’s go!!
They were made from 1999-2006. In 2007 is when they went to active fuel management that turns off cylinders. Nothing but problems with that generation of engine.
You won't regret it
I bought a 2005 2 owner post Covid Yukon XL SLE 2wd 180k for 4,000. Keep up with all the fluid changes.
very reliable and very comfortable. There was never another seat made like they made the huge seats in these things

Love this gen truck.
you got a great amount of miles out of it! Just keep that license plate and hang her up in the garage somewhere for memories!!
It had a good long life. You should have kept it as a parts vehicle with a good transmission and transfer case to keep this new one on the road.

i have an 03’ Denali XL 6.0 w 194K and i absolutely love it.
Yea I would be really curious as to how to do the rear entertainment screen! I have seen them but never knew how to hook them up

Clean interior, fabric upholstery, and front seat is a bench, 3rd seat in the middle.
nice steal man!!!

@@beardedreviews Make sure you check that T.C. Look for oil at the upper pass. side coming from a pinhole.
Seats are also way worse on the 900

rust free = lucky!
I bought a 2001 Yukon Xl new. Still have it with 150k miles on it and it still runs like new.
Lots of cargo space even with the 3rd row seats up. With 3rd row flipped up. Wow! With 3rd row out. Whoa! With 3rd row out and 2nd row flipped down.🤯
You can hall a lot of stuff in this sucker.
We have a 2004 Suburban that we bought brand new and it has almost 400k miles on it
they last forever!
Nice!! Yea I thought about getting a gmt900, because I love the body style, but I always hear nightmares about stuff like that
I have regretted trading in my 06 Suburban since the day I did it.

Have you dropped the transmission pan and change the filter?
😮 150000 miles mine has over 500000 mile then the mile gauge broke

Had a 2000 Suburban , bought new on Oct of 99, put 3 kids in it , 528K , 23 years. Great car? Still ran great
crazy how many miles you can rack up on one of them!!!
Love these, good find. I have a gorgeous gmt-400 Tahoe that looks and runs like if it was still new. Sad that GM can’t make them like this anymore.
I have a 2006 Chevy suburban and I love it
you got yourself a great vehicle!!
@@beardedreviews no rust out of Maryland and I live in upstate New York
@@petermillis875 Hope you can keep it from rust living up there!!
I have a 2004 Tahoe that has 300,000 miles on it and still runs good.
I found one of these 2001 yukon xl, it has 130k miles(according carfax), and it is offered for $4990, should i buy it?
In my opinion, you should definitely buy that
Whatever you do when you clean the motor do not get water underneath the intake manifold as you will short out your knock sensors as I learned the hard way
Lessons learned the hard way are the worst!!! :)
The most common issues with these vehicles are the stepper motors under the dash instrument clusters ABS brake module underneath the frame on the driver side and the knock sensors
chevy top 3 silverado and suburban platforms :
1- squarebody
2- gmt 400
3- gmt 800
350 and lm7 engines are the best
Yes! LM7 is much better than the LMG with the afm
Had 2 gmt800s I got a gmt400 now best vehicles
do u have a link for that stereo system u installed
i agree, I see older chevy trucks on the road alot, lots of rust but running for sure. between old chevys and toyotas thats about 95% of the older vehicles on the road.
I ended up buying an old toyota too. You're spot on!
Chevy knew what they were doing.
dang right they did!
Best all-round vehicle on the road. I say, if you want truck, silverado platform 99 -07; if you want car, Camry. If you like pain, VW.
2000 to 2006. 99's are different body, different center console and different dashboard
I bought the boost auto remote in the new Silverado style for my '07 Classic and like it a lot
Yea I need to get mine!
Got a 2001 Yukon and it has 105.000 miles and runs and looks like new. I will go to the grave with this car if the feds do not take it away in the future.
Yea if the world goes electric, we gotta hide our beautiful V8s!!
U NEED SOME 24X12 AND A LIFT TO
I LOVE MY YUKON XL
Kept it and bought the surburban xl...50,000 damn dash cracked 2yrs later
What mpg do you get?
Just got my 2000 Suburban LS $1400 needs some suspension work among other things 😅
Is 2014 suburban LT 1500 4wd is a good year to buy ??
they added DOD in that generation which brings a little bit of unreliability. Just do some searching about AFM/DOD in the gmt900 trucks.
Would you get the Escalade ? same year ?
I did get one:) I have a video about it
I saw a 2000 gmc Yukon 1500 slt with 157k miles and it needs heads should I buy it??
too many common mechanical problems especially the knock sensors which requires major disassembly to replace, ABS module electrical issue, fuel pump issues requiring the tank to be dropped to replace, cheap plastic parts in the engine compartment that get brittle and break from heat including heater core connectors at the firewall, trans cooler INSIDE radiator leaks into cooling system, major issues major expenses
don't forget the water pump and the 4L60E lol
But what car doesnt have any issues?
Figure somewhere north of $600
Mine is a tank is the 02 suburban 2500hd 8.1 i love it❤❤❤
There must be something in the water. I watch your channel and LSXMatt's, I've got a 92 Z28 Z03 and just picked up a 2005 Yukon XL with 139k on it. Lol
you can use a 2020 key fob
No Wheel flares! they hold moisture & its rust behind them
Sounds like You haven’t changed a heater core on this yet.
I've heard it's terrible to do lol
Most capable vehicle on the road for what you pay, more than Sequoia even
This vehicle will save you in a highway speed head on collision with a crackhead, the GMT800 is the greatest vehicle base ever designed
I won't ask how you know that :)
its really popular car in saudi arabia
but bad fuel economy :(
i hope i will get one soon
Just bought a 03 with 240k miles, except it looks like it has 40k miles because it was taken care of so meticulously.
Yeah but 88 to 98 is also a very good truck. Hell you could argue 1968 to 2007 classic Chevy had the best half ton truck
I have a black Tahoe Z71 paid $3500 I love it and have been offered over $10K for it . I watched LSXMATT and every mod he did to Tahiti he removed ! Didn't give a good reason
Came on here to state seats are BETTER than the brand new trucks
Oh they're so much better
I have a 2001 K2500 that I bought in 2002 still drive it with over 200,000 miles. just took a 2,000 mile trip in it. I also have 1992 Suburban K2500 280,000 + miles, 1992 Tahoe K 1500 296,000 miles, and a 1993 C1500 Suburban transmission failed at 310,000.
dont worry im getting mine soon
they're great! get you one
