This era of SUVs probably has been one of the best made ever by GM. I bought a 2001 brand new and it is still running. Almost over 300,000 miles on it and still going strong.
Grew up with a 2002 Yukon XL, did everything with it, learned how to work on cars, learned how to drive, took me to the first day of pre school and I drove it to the last day of grad school, kept it running up to 372,000miles with original transmission and engine and this past January it saved me and my wife’s lives when a cocaine addict hit us head on going the wrong way on the highway. This vehicle will do anything and everything you ask of it and it will save your life, now I’m trying to find another one, couldn’t possibly recommend a vehicle more.
2005 Tahoe. If the interior ever goes dead, follow the parking brake release cable and you may find it leaning against a black box in a galvanized bracket. Move the cable away and everything will work again.

Rock on man! I’ve got an 04 suburban Z 71 with 200,000 miles. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Picked it up for three grand couple years ago. And have put a couple grand just maintenance items in that time. Looking for another one. I want to own a pair. One for work and one for personal
My Father has a 2006 Escalade that he bought new in 2006. It is his daily driver to this day! 246,000 miles, all he has done is basic maintenance. Never broke down, never left him stranded. The heater core just went and that is a big repair bill but he is going to get it done anyway because the truck is that good, worth it!
I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe with 300,000 miles on the odometer and it stills drives and rides like a dream!!! I bought it with 120,000 miles on it and this has certainly been one of the most reliable vehicles I have ever owned!!! Quiet running engine even with 300, 000 miles!!!
Looking to buy one myself for a winter family hauler. Great vehicles. Reliable and built. The 2005+ also have e-fans which is a plus over clutch fans. They are absolutely the best.
I have a 2006 fully loaded Yukon 4x4 with the 5.3 and 4.10 gears. I had that same touch screen radio with the normal BOSE system. It sounded so good that I bought an NOS version of the same radio with the y91 Lux bose feature and swapped the amp in the center console to the one that came standard in your truck and the escalade. Over all the sound improved and i added the noise compensation audio pilot mic. It really is a great radio for it's time even by today's standards.
I bought me a 2005 Denali XL 2 years ago. I've run my Denali hard and went off roading after lifting it about 3 inches. The only thing I had to do to it was to change out the plugs and wires. Had to change out the water pump about a month ago. It was quite easy. It has the e-clutch fan which it made it so easy. Took me a couple of hours to change it out. My kids love it. It's roomy and comfortable. I added a Pioneer stereo on it and it made the bose sound even better. I've pulled trucks out of mud puddles. Other than it guzzles gas like crazy, but it seems like when you're pulling something like a trailer or a RV trailor, it takes it easy on the fuel mileage. That's kinda strange in my opinion. My family loves it. It's a great truck to have. Can't go wrong with it.
Just bought a nice 06 Yukon Denali with 235k runs strong and trans shift smooth I got lucky just put $500 into on pitman arms idle arms and front brakes
I’ve got a 2005 Suburban LT. Had 90k miles on it and bought it for $6500. Now has 205k miles. I’ve owned it for 8 years now and it has had all the common trouble issues that I’ve fixed myself. O2 sensors, fuel pump, fuel vapor canister, air bag sensors, temperature blend door motors, sagging ceiling liner, alternator, driveshaft u joints, instrument cluster, and window regulators, inside door panels breaking, intake gasket, NOX sensors, no heated seats, seat adjustment controls, steering wheel buttons, water pump, lift gate light bar and shocks, rear window lift shocks, had the transmission rebuilt. Just recently started having more transmission trouble. So I rebuilt the valve body and used all Sonnax parts for shift and forward accumulators and installed a corvette servo. Seems like it’s doing better now. Drives good when it’s running but keeps breaking down. I’ve probably spent another $6500 on parts over the 8 years. I don’t know why I hang on to it. It’s a rolling pile of junk. I wish I had bought a Toyota Landcruiser.
I have an 2001 8.1 L 2500 and I love it, To your point I did have to replace the brake lines and the rust on the rockers. All worth it getting ready to get it painted now.
I agree. I was buying Chevy Tahoes until they went over $25K. So in 2015 I bought a 2002, 13 years old, for only $10,000. Only 70,000 miles. Miles matter, the year does not.
I have the exact same truck, XL Denali, 2006 in the same paint color, silver birch metallic. Bought it as the second owner 8 1/2 years ago with 74k on the odometer. It now has 187k and still runs like a champ! Easy to work on parts at plentiful and they are crazy easy to mod and upgrade. Love that newer GM 6 lug wheels are direct bolt on upgrades. Had a set of 2007 20s, a set of 2015 20s, and now a set of 2021 denali 20s. My only complaint is that silver birch metallic is well known for clearcoat failure, mine is trashed. The one is this video is immaculate paint wise and that makes me really jealous lol. Only thing I’d say is that the Denali Yukon never came with a wood grain trimmed steering wheel from the factory. If it had one it’s an aftermarket upgrade. I did an Escalade wheel in mine as well except that I painted the grips to match the darker Denali wood trim.

I have a 2002 Yukon SLT, and by far it's got to be the most reliable vehicle I've ever seen. As far as brake lines go, I went with cupronickel lines when the rust killed the factory lines. Cheaper than stainless, and a lot easier to get in (you can form them by hand). My only complaint is rust... once they start it's hard to stop, and it takes over quickly (I blame the foam sound deadening in the panels). Seems to be faster with these than other trucks, but I'd rather have a working rust bucket than a dead but clean truck
Just picked one up for $1000. Runs and drives perfectly fine. Not a Denali but it’s a 2002 GMC Yukon xl with 308k. Driver seat is torn as expected and interior was dirty af. Rock auto has new carpet kits for $400 and seats can be picked up cheaply on marketplace.
2000 to 2006 GMC, Chev and Caddi trucks were the best years for these trucks! Just do diligence on upkeep and basic maintenance and the motor can and will last into the mid 400k mile range before needing replacement.

400k if taken care of. I was looking at 2010-2014 Yukon's , but because of my own research , I bought a clean 02 Denali with 140k on the odometer. I'm a reliability first shopper, and hands down these are the last gen that measure up to Toyota level reliability.
Not all Escalade’s of this generation did have the 6.0 because back in the day, if you wanted a cheaper new Escalade, you would have to go for the 2WD 5.3 version

Love your video, did you drop yours lil bit?? Also what size the wheel you have on it??
Thanks no stock height. 22’ replicas
How long do these last on regular maintenance Bossman ? Looking to either save up for these or the next gen GM trucks to be my daily after I run through my 300
250k + on regular maintenance. Transmission and rust are their pit falls
400k if taken care of. I was looking at 2010-2014 Yukon's , but because of my own research , I bought a clean 02 Denali with 140k on the odometer. I'm a reliability first shopper, and hands down these are the last gen that measure up to Toyota level reliability.
Did u put spacers on the wheels or adapters thanks 👍
Would the xl allow for sheets of plywood to be put in the back? Standard 4x8’
Not all Escalade’s of this generation did have the 6.0 because back in the day, if you wanted a cheaper new Escalade, you would have to go for the 2WD 5.3 version
I recently bought a 2002 AWD 6.0 AWD escalade 5 months ago. I got lucky, these specific models are hard to find at a fair price. love my truck!
@@BSM7702 pretty cool find
@@omarzowila I appreciate that, thanks I will post some videos of my truck on my channel when i have made the necessary upgrades to it. right now in its "stock form" the way i bought it, it looks too "gangster drug dealer" for my taste lol, as these trucks have a presence of there own which i plan of changing before making videos of it. I bought it from a retired aerospace engineer im 3rd owner. hes used it 10yrs as his daily after buying it from the 1st owner. He took good care of it as i plan of continuing that service record.
Is it stock or or a lift kit or drop kit on it
"Never gonna regret too big" never had to find parking spots in a city I guess lol.
Negative
never mind the fact that there are a ton of full sized SUVs in literally every city
GMT800 platform FTW!
She’s a thing of beauty🔥, What did you do to learn how to change parts??
Thanks brother. Self taught google and RUclips and from working on other things
@@hammerdownfilm377 Really appreciate it man!, Thanks for the help🤙🏽🔥
Are those the 20” or 22” in rims
Whats the wheels setup size tires
Would you buy one of these having mileage in the 200ks if it seemed to check out ok?
Yes but usually the interiors are shot at that point. Look for a well kept one in the 180k range
What wheels u running Aka rims
What size tires do u have? I'm about to paint mine, same color about 235k or so on it. Rockers gotta be replaced and passenger fender. Rebuilt tranny, oil cooler lines went twice. These old rims are leaky. Had some problems but not problematic. Been all over the country.
And the xl comes with bigger gas . The small frame comes wit 29 gallons the xl comes with a 39 gallon tank . I believe
I'm in Italy and I'm thinking about getting one of these..gas mileage matters here so many of them they run on LPG wich is cheaper than gasoline (0.7€ per liter) .
I currently own a 2012 Grand Cherokee diesel and I'm too afraid to get in trouble with the main bearings failure
I need like this touch screen!? Give brand name please
Hi i am looking to buy one and love the rim and tire set up can u specify the size i know u said 20 inch rim but i feel its a 22 i could be wrong but if u can confirmed rims and tire size also that be great

I almost feel like you’re giving away my secret fishing spots
Hingham mass? Hard to find these in good shape there
Yes sir. Bought it out of the hood in NJ. She was clean
hello, will this bumper fit same gen suburban?!
It will bolt on, not sure about how it lines up with the grill though. I know the headlights are different and the hood is different
Hey boss looking to get the same stance
Did you lower the car and what size wheels and tires 305/45/22 ?
awesome looking Yukon Denali! idk if anyone has mentioned it but the American flag is being displayed wrong.
Are all the Escalade steering wheel buttons functional? And is a relatively easy swap?
Yup, plug and play iff your truck has the steering wheel controls to begin with
Right one brotha, thanks
Do they have serious SM
What’s your thoughts on a 2000 Yukon XL 2500 ?
More for hauling, not AWD HD axles etc. They have the 6.0 too or 8.1L but are geared different and get worse fuel mileage
What size wheels and tires do you have
22’ wheels not sure on the tires.
What tire are you running?
What kind of wheels and tires are you running on your Denali
@@glenncoleman7041 I haven't made a decision yet but I really like that m/t a/t look you have with that tire
What size tire you on now I know there are 20”. How wide and how tall is the tires
On stocks
They’re 22” replicas lll have to look at the tire specs
Anyone have any idea what wheels those are? Thanks if so!👍
My parents got an ‘06 Yukon SLT with a 5.3L when I was about 6 and drove it to the ground. The transmission blew at 300k miles about 6 years ago so my parents got a new car because ig they didn’t want to deal with the repair costs. It’s been sitting at a gas station ever since. I plan on fixing it up by rebuilding the engine and trans and by fixing other possibly issues for it to be my first car
My parents had an 05 suburban growing up and we drove it into the ground too. It was what drove me to get one. You can get an engine and trans at junkyard cheaper than it is to rebuild
I just bought one that needs brake line alittle body work on rocker it got 440xxx one owner and all the maintenance records
So these require premium fuel?
@@jamesjackalone5486 No
Mine was 130xxxx now its 192xxxx still going strong
