@@magicdolphin3090 Owning dogs is ethical. Abusing dogs is unethical. Obviously adding abuse to something makes it unethical, even if it originally was not.
Dogs, horses and oxen don't have to be asphyxiated to put their harnesses on. Also, some would argue that all those things are also unethical
not intending to argue im not knowledgeable enough on fish ethics, but i think part of the difference is that those animals have all been domesticated over centuries (millennia?), the fish may have been raised in a farm but thats not the same level of generational domestication i dont think. plus someone else in the comments pointed out that fish are very sensitive to feel minute changes in water direction/temperature/pressure so the harnesses could be much more uncomfortable for them, then theres also just the fact of holding them outside of the water for an amount of time which suffocates them momentarily, and all of these things combined just stressing them out a bunch
@mm-gk6xg Gotta start somewhere. I'm sure the first horses to pull a carriage didn't know what was going on either.
im from Europe and we eat carp . just have to know how to make it . its delicious .Brined Carp
Ingredients:
1 kg carp (cleaned and cut into steaks)
1 liter water
100 ml vinegar
2-3 tablespoons salt
1-2 bay leaves
10-12 black peppercorns
4-5 cloves of garlic (smashed)
Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Optional: slices of lemon
Instructions:
Prepare the Brine:
In a large pot, combine water, vinegar, salt, bay leaves, black peppercorns, and smashed garlic.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Cook the Carp:
Place the carp steaks in a shallow dish or a large pot.
Pour the warm brine over the fish, ensuring they are fully submerged. If necessary, you can add more water to cover the fish completely.
Let the carp marinate for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight in the refrigerator.
Grill the Fish:
Preheat the grill or a grill pan.
Remove the carp from the brine and allow it to drain slightly.
Grill the carp steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and nicely charred.
Serve:
Transfer the grilled carp to a serving plate.
Garnish with fresh parsley and optional lemon slices.
Serve hot, accompanied by polenta or a fresh salad.

The ultimate solution is to breed really smart fish.
A few ideas for improvement:
1) Use a net that fits around the fish (leaving their faces, gills, and fins free to work) to more effectively hold them.
2) Make the tubes a few inches longer and put netting "doors" on them. If the fish "slip their traces", they'll still be contained.
3) For steering, you want the "fish yoke" to be mounted on a swivel under the tongue. Then mount a crossbar to the bow of the boat. Mount pulleys on the end of the crossbar. Run ropes out from where you sit, through the pulleys, and then forward to the "fish yoke". This should give you enough leverage to point them in the direction you wish.
Good luck with version 1.1!
E
Please never make another one of these they're too cursed.
Please don't make improvements, this thing is too cursed the way it is now
Since they've got the tube, they could probably ditch the harness altogether. Just make the tube narrow enough that the fish can't turn around, and put meshing over the ends so the fish can't escape.

If the harness was attached to the bottom of the pipe as well as the top, it would work better, as the harness makes them turn upwards when they want to swim fast. But also, I think having a small net on the front of each pipe, with a hole just large enough for their snout to fit through would work best instead of a harness. That way their head would be fixed into the net and they could swim semi-freely without the obstruction of the harness.

@TrickORTreatttt This bot ain't even doing its job right.
Ideas to improve the design:
-Maybe distribute the chutes to the left and the right of the boat, allowing you to pivot the chute assemblies from just above your lap while in the boat and possibly even allowing you to disengage the assemblies by pulling up and lifting them out of the water.
- Secondly, instead of the harnesses, simply secure the fish into the chutes by using grates to keep them in while allowing water to pass through, also ensuring that the chutes are still too narrow for the fish to reorient themselves, thus keeping them forward facing.
I would really like to see another iteration on this concept.
or maybe just stop this unethical project

you’re so cool, i wish australia was real
Australia is real buddy come over here
Great video but also to a lot of people saying this is inhumane: A lot of animals in the meat industry go through some pretty fucked up shit. this is mercy compared to what a lot of dairy animals and stuff go through. im not saying that this isn't hurting the animals, but comparatively this is not that bad compared to the previous life the Barramundi were living.

I would be down for a scary and traumatizing time with the possibility of being freed instead of farmed for death shortly.
10:44 i really fw this kind of videography. Mentioning that you may have to go to a different region then cutting to the footage in that region, w the didgeridoo in the back and the new fish just hits so badass idk
that's cool, but you know what's cooler? riding a fish with a saddle
Bet let me just hop on a dolphin.

he wha huh now
He actually ment it probably.😂
key problem in the build losing you atleast half of your fishpowers, is that they werent tethered to the boat top and bottom, so they would push forward which would make their head point up and bang their head.
rinse and repeat.
i dont think would stop/start so much if they werent bagging their heads every other second.
if horses were as slippery we'd never reach an industrial revolution
