2007-2008 were such great years for video games. That was when the XBOX 360 and the PlayStation 3 were finally hitting their stride. Modern Warfare, Bioshock, Halo 3, and GTA 4 came out within months of each other.....Man I miss high school.
+Kai Pelekanos And it somehow predicted the war in the Middle East.....just kind of. I mean, look at the names and the situations: an arabic extremist takes the power in a Middle East country and the US storm the capital. Meanwhile a small task force is trying to catch the mastermind behind the event somewhere in Siberia, and it's not the classic "MURIKA WILL SAVE THE WORLD!" plot. It's a joint operation of the USMC, the SAS and the Russian Army.
Modern Warfare, World at War, Modern Warfare 2, And Black Ops 1. Those were the best call of duties ever. They were simple, and you could just play without asking what every little thing does. Not to mention the campaigns were fantastic.
Call of duty 4 modern warfare = best cod game ever Followed by call of duty modern warfare 2 and the second installment of the cod which is call of duty 2

You said CoD4 was a simpler time in this video. This is exactly true and ironic because I was a kid when I played this game and we all know being a kid means better and simpler times that we want to go back to. There's my nostalgic comment of the day.
I bet when you were a kid, the comunity didn't despize kids on cod as much as they do now lol, i don't really care but now it's an insult? being a kid and playing a 18+ game!
I like MW2's campaign a little more. Sure COD4 campaign created the cinematic formula, but MW2 perfected it. It also has some of the best music I ever heard for an FPS game.
MrPhila I don't really like the twist though. It was shocking for the first time, but the more I think about it, the more I'm like "wait, it doesn't make any sense".

+SmokingBirds People who made MoH left to make their own games which lead up to the birth of Call Of Duty. If you care so much about people copying other games. You might as well say everyone copied Pac Man.
+TheGreen627 Cod 2 and 3 were amazing. the World War feel really made them games great man i haven't bought a cod since ghosts, these new ones coming out lately are just kids games.
The nuke scene I think is honestly not only one of the most iconic scenes in video games but in all of entertainment. I will never forget my first time playing the campaign and witnessing such a well done sequence that had me silent and stunned even minutes after it. Most movies can't even make me feel that way let alone a video game. Hats off to you COD4, you will forever be a legend.
Definitely my favorite. I remember playing in online multiplayer for the first time and I felt like I was in an actual battlefield. I was so scared to die! I wish they do a remastered version of this game, I had amazing times playing it. However, I dont think they will because I bet we all be playing CoD4 4 instead of the new CoDs.
For me this will never be topped. Multi-player was the kind of frustrating where you immediately loaded up again because you were still having fun. Everybody had the same kill streaks, and the weapons would go through a meta, where suddenly everyone would switch from the P90, to the M16, to the M40A3, to the Druganov, to the MP5… etc. But they were constantly changing because the situational use was constantly changing. Which meant every gun had a use. Nowadays I often use less than half the weapons afforded to me because they don’t have actual situational use. I loved this game. Best maps, too.
my dad played it when I was 3. Now hes 50 i am 15 and im Playing the Remastered next gen version. I playit now for 5 years and I still play it every week. I just love it.
AxeDoes...Stuff He said one of the best COD missions ever. I stated it being one of the best missions ever. My statement implies all games not just COD. Check yo self.

Everything you said, spot on. Now 17 years on. This game was the game .I'm 47 now and can't keep up with the modern fps games but I'd still gold myself in Cod 4 😂💪🏻👌🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
+Morgan Reutter I have to agree with this statement. Black Ops was the pinnacle of the series. World at War was an absolutely fantastic game as well. Something about the characters that Treyarch created was so gripping for me. World at War and Black Ops had a certain personality to them that no other Call of Duty game has replicated
I just replayed the CoD 4 campaign for the past week...it's like the 20th time I do it in the past 8 years...and man wasn't it astonishing...the nostalgia and heart beats...the goosebumps flowing. This game made my childhood
2007 was the year for FPS. Coming off Half Life 2's innovations in FPS storytelling (and the release of Episode 2 w/ the Orange Box), we got Portal, CoD4, and Bioshock in the same year.
1- the original IW were incrediblly talented, their level design/feel/pacing/atmosphere was excellent 2-fresh idea, a war game in modern settings was badass 3-innovative multiplayer at the time, leveling up completely changed online gaming 4-phenomenal campaign/pacing/story/voice acting 5-Nextgen shock value, gfx were breathtaking at the time 6-great soundtrack 7-fluid flawless 60FPS controls
All the younger fans will say black ops or any other game. Yes black ops was great but when you first started with cod4 it is clearly without a fight the best cod
+2727BROOKLYN I wouldn't say so, I've play all the Call of duty's since 3 and my all time favorite has been Black Ops 1. Thought the story was so unique especially for a a first person shooter, multiplayer was so much fun and probably the last game of the series that wasn't overboard with all the shit and i could just play zombies for a full weekend without getting bored. MW1 was absolutely breathtaking for it's time but for gameplay value and fun BO1 takes the cake.
CoD 4, Black Ops 1 and World at War had something that new CoD games lack: a mix between an Michael Bay Production and a Plot story that feels legit (and possible in our world)
-Simplistic and easy to get into. Not a ton of perks and weapons or kill streaks, but just the right amount. Kill streaks aren't OP like much of the controlled kill streaks in future franchises -Arguably the best or among the top 3 in story out of the entire franchise -Arguably has the best map design out of the entire series, hands down.
One of the last truly LAN games. You could play with friends at a freaking LAN party!!! Love it! I wish game studios would still keep this in bloody mind when making shooters!
you have to be mental to pay$110 for a game that literally costs $3 at GameStop. I just recently did this and the cashier says, wow finally one smart person.
One thing that I found interest about the first mw game versus the others , it gave this very silent quiet depressing vibe, but mw2 and 3 gave this war and action packed vibe .
+classplayer12 honestly they only things they would need to do is remove death streaks/last stand have cycling kill streaks and a few little tweaks here and there like jack said. that with the obvious graphics boost and you got a next best seller
+Striker Janners cause COD is about hardcore realistic warfares....and Infinite Warfare is just getting too far away from the basic COD concept. I have been playing COD since COD1. COD has lost its path. Thats what I say,no harm,no foul,no offense
Another reason this was so good was the 4 player offline multiplayer. I remember playing with my cousins a game mode where you started with no guns and perks and had to scavenge for guns and perks and pick them up from around the map. And let's not forget the maps, bog, wet works, shipment, crash
Black Rulership that's not cool, a lot of people play that game for fun and you're just ruining the experience and whats fun about wrecking opponents while not using any hard earned skill?
+Black Rulership Sad, sad, sad. A game is meant to give you small achievements throughout playing, and you can't even accomplish that without cheating.
@@BrandonCuringtonOfficial I own the remastered and I understand you all have different opinions of the game. But to me the remastered was the best thing to happen on next.gen consoles . It felt just like good ole original modern warfare on Xbox 360 . Best part is they gave me all 16 maps . i was so happy and it is totally worth it . I even completed the campaign.
Jackson's death kinda hit hard for me. I was just starting to warm up to him and then he dropped dead. I thought he was going to live. I still love Soap, though.
The Heckler and koch machine pistol 7 wasn't in mass production as the h and k mp5 so it was mainly issued to the secret service and federal police agencies; however, some production units may be found elsewhere but, I'm not aware besides , some bodyguards may also carting around the model

Ethan Donnelly which platform did you play cod4 on?
PS
Völundr Frey This comment is pretty stupid.
2007-10 was Call of Duty in its prime!
COD4, WAW, MW2, BO1.
These are arguably the best FPS's I've ever played. (IMO)
+14DANESSJ The single player camping of WAW was quitte monotone, but Reznov in the other hand...
Teco01ejg I agree it has the weakest campaign of the four, but I'd argue it's the best ww2 cod game we've had. And yes Reznov was awesome!
cod 4 is the pinnacle of skill when it comes to cod games. no bullshit, pure gunplay, map knowledge, and raw skill. we need more games like this
Everything you said, spot on. Now 17 years on. This game was the game .I'm 47 now and can't keep up with the modern fps games but I'd still gold myself in Cod 4 😂💪🏻👌🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Modern warfare
World at war
Black ops.
The absolute peak of the franchise.
I'd have to say Black Ops 1 was and still is the best COD game ever.
+Morgan Reutter lol
facts
+Morgan Reutter I'm not gonna judge you, but fucking hell that's just... weird
Hahahahahahahhahahaahahahahaha
You managed to do the impossible for me. You kept my attention on a video about a Call Of Duty game. Good job!
CoD 4 through Black Ops the golden age of CoD
Yep, mw3 was the only dodgy one from 07-12
@@callumrae5769 it was, but current CoD’s make it look like GoTY material.
@@le4-677 yeh but tbh I think the community was getting a bit fed of historic/ modern cod
@@callumrae5769 call of duty was like the golden state warriors with Durant during 2007-2011
50,000 people used to play on these servers, now it's a ghost game
Demian Makuc do you know what i was referencing?
yeah the "50000 people" talk everytime you start the game haha :) i know i know, I just thought I'd say it :) golden times
Demian Makuc indeed :D
***** :)
cod 4 love the classic feal. Hate them new exo suit cods they have to much dlc
Mr PriMe feel*
too*
You want a classic feel? Check out Call of Duty 2
7:46 THAT PIECE OF MUSIC GIVES ME CHILLS EVERY FUCKING TIME MAN, THE CHILLS.....
+AceGames Same here!
+AceGames so good
+AceGames Dude, I know exactly what you mean, I remember sitting in the lobby waiting for a game to start, listening to that music....I love it
I just replayed the CoD 4 campaign for the past week...it's like the 20th time I do it in the past 8 years...and man wasn't it astonishing...the nostalgia and heart beats...the goosebumps flowing. This game made my childhood
2007 was the year for FPS. Coming off Half Life 2's innovations in FPS storytelling (and the release of Episode 2 w/ the Orange Box), we got Portal, CoD4, and Bioshock in the same year.
1- the original IW were incrediblly talented, their level design/feel/pacing/atmosphere was excellent
2-fresh idea, a war game in modern settings was badass
3-innovative multiplayer at the time, leveling up completely changed online gaming
4-phenomenal campaign/pacing/story/voice acting
5-Nextgen shock value, gfx were breathtaking at the time
6-great soundtrack
7-fluid flawless 60FPS controls
All the younger fans will say black ops or any other game. Yes black ops was great but when you first started with cod4 it is clearly without a fight the best cod
amen!
That's because of nostalgia. 19/20 people choose whatever game was their 1st
+sam burton Al;ot of PC gamers cashed their chips in when BO was released. And PC gaming is where you follow for the trends to happen.
I first started with CoD2 and I still think CoD4 was the best game ever, and that was released 2 games later. CoD2 was fun af too, CoD3 blew ass.
CoD 4, Black Ops 1 and World at War had something that new CoD games lack: a mix between an Michael Bay Production and a Plot story that feels legit (and possible in our world)
1- sees a cod video
2- gets nostalgic
3- installs and starts playing
4- gets rekt
5-uninstalls
6- repeat 1-6 a few months later.
+Patrick Bateman Story of my life
Get out of my head.
-Simplistic and easy to get into. Not a ton of perks and weapons or kill streaks, but just the right amount. Kill streaks aren't OP like much of the controlled kill streaks in future franchises
-Arguably the best or among the top 3 in story out of the entire franchise
-Arguably has the best map design out of the entire series, hands down.
That game was Fantastic, and you explained it so well. Great vid
I can answer your question with one word:
PROMOD - PC!
Mazarini, Paradox, Stevy and others, also the fragmovies that time where sick as hell ^^
fifty thousand people usedd to live here, now it's a ghost town.
They should've put that map in ghost or in next cod
what made cod 4 so good is the fact that the maps were so diverse and not 3 lanes like new call of duties
+Kyle Runyon ... cod4 maps were literally all 3 lanes, thats where the formula came from
+PogChamp maybe I didn't notice it because of the lack of head glitch spots lol
Man.. just by hearing the music I got goosebumps.
+hallugenetic so much nostalgia.... 6-9 years ago..
Cod4 was just a vibe, easily my favorite cod
Yes it captured 2008 for me
My boy Cpt.MacMillan!
+Mathews Barbosa
#OneManArmy
He's like the next Price
+Zen Razor Price was the new MacMillan.
Daniel. True
i dream about this game in my sleep
Wake up and play it then
Simplicity is the key.
One of the last truly LAN games. You could play with friends at a freaking LAN party!!! Love it! I wish game studios would still keep this in bloody mind when making shooters!
The music alone gives me chills.
i miss cod 4 and its coming back to me 😁
+Zihiar Henry You can still play cod4...
Jon Corcoran 😁
+Jon Corcoran But still, the server browser is like: "50,000 people used to live here. Now it's a ghost town."
COD4 is still alive and active on PC
you have to be mental to pay$110 for a game that literally costs $3 at GameStop. I just recently did this and the cashier says, wow finally one smart person.
I know people give CoD shit, I do too, but the Modern Warfare Trilogy, is one of my favourite video game trilogies ever, it's just so good.
+KiRo88TheMLGNoob i used to get high as fuck and just play out all 3 of the single player campaigns
bubba82069 lol
+KiRo88TheMLGNoob I would like a MW4, but they won't listen.
Yara Van Snelle NONONONO! The MW story is done! Don't ruin it!
Also World at War, and Black Ops 1!!!
One thing that I found interest about the first mw game versus the others , it gave this very silent quiet depressing vibe, but mw2 and 3 gave this war and action packed vibe .
CoD4 and MW2 are my favorites. I still play them to this day.
Simplicity makes a COD game worth playing.
if they remastered this, would buy again in a heartbeat
same
+TROllingNINJA2031 it is remastered on PC bro, 4k 91fps
+classplayer12 honestly they only things they would need to do is remove death streaks/last stand have cycling kill streaks and a few little tweaks here and there like jack said. that with the obvious graphics boost and you got a next best seller
I could not agree more.
But world at war? 😭
You guys asked for a futuristic call of duty, remember that
MW2 BEST OF THE LOT.
I didn't ask for that
xboxboff the community did
LOLMASSSS2442 but I didn't. He said "you guys" implying all cod fans did. But as I am an individual person I strongly jeutest with the community
jolly good sir
But where are the killer robots, double jumps, unrealistic weapons and being able to shoot freakin' laser beams in space?.. #Sarcasm
lol
+Barack Smith Infinite Warfare doesnt have laser guns or Jets that can just shoot lasers
+Striker Janners well thats very much hardcore
why do people treat Infinite Warfare like shit?
+Striker Janners cause COD is about hardcore realistic warfares....and Infinite Warfare is just getting too far away from the basic COD concept. I have been playing COD since COD1. COD has lost its path. Thats what I say,no harm,no foul,no offense
Another reason this was so good was the 4 player offline multiplayer. I remember playing with my cousins a game mode where you started with no guns and perks and had to scavenge for guns and perks and pick them up from around the map. And let's not forget the maps, bog, wet works, shipment, crash
+Darth Vader Never forget Crossfire
+Darth Vader I wish more games in general did that these days
Short answer is because it was such a simple game that played amazingly
This video aged so well I thought it came out a few months ago
It also had too much radiation that we had to go around
Lol.
+Black Rulership for multiplayer or single player?
Black Rulership that's not cool, a lot of people play that game for fun and you're just ruining the experience and whats fun about wrecking opponents while not using any hard earned skill?
if you absorb too much you are a dead man... stand by
+Black Rulership Sad, sad, sad. A game is meant to give you small achievements throughout playing, and you can't even accomplish that without cheating.
they lobby music is what gets me everytime. makes me want to play it right now!!
I love everything about CoD4. I don't even mind the grenade spam since it feels more like a war zone. I can't wait for the remaster.
Remaster is here (and you don't have to buy infinite war now to get the remastered version)
Remaster was shit don't get it
@@BrandonCuringtonOfficial I own the remastered and I understand you all have different opinions of the game.
I still play this using lan when my friends come to my house
:D
:D
I remember when I got nuked in the campaign mode...man I was blown away
+Vincent Espinoza Hehehe literally
call of duty 4 and world at war are the best call of duty games. nothing will ever compare and they still hold up.
8 years since this video.
A generation since this game💔
When SOAP got killed off in MW3 I low-key cried
I laughed
+Best Bother Evil
I know shit was sad he died a honorable death to, he didn't go out like a bitch.
+Best Bother I laughed too because that's when I knew the series was dead
There's no mp7 in cod 4
joe bob prob meant mp5.
Blitz nobody cares
The Heckler and koch machine pistol 7 wasn't in mass production as the h and k mp5 so it was mainly issued to the secret service and federal police agencies; however, some production units may be found elsewhere but, I'm not aware besides , some bodyguards may also carting around the model
The3gr8 king trans4mable bumble bee no one asked
remaster is going to be the best COD game since well, COD 4
+Viking Gaming Yeah !
yeah MW2 was pretty good
i dont think i have played a game more than this and i even play it today
it is just so addictive
