I have a cz accushadow by cz custom shop, it has the best double action trigger I have ever fired, they also have custom p01 builds and parts available.
I bought an all steel Sp-01 on 6/30 and finally got to shoot it yesterday. I absolutely love how it shoots, right to the point of aim and the recoil is minimal at best. One of the best pistols I've ever owned, hands down.
CZ P01 with the Cajun Gun Works defensive carry kit is awesome! Been carrying that gun for well over a year now. Been through HK, Springfield, Glock, etc. and personally place CZ a top all of those. Low bore access, super reliable and proven. My wife even switched from her Glock 19 to a CZ PCR with the Cajun tweaks. Another advantage is the mags from any CZ75 will fit the others. I use my Phantom and its Mec Gar's in my P01 for long range sessions. Love CZ. For the grips I switched to the CZ USA aluminum ones. Good texture and doesn't rub or irritate your skin and they come in some cool colors!
Glad you've joined us CZ fans. 😃 CZs are definitely my favorite handguns for a variety of reasons. I've never read about someone firing a CZ and not liking it, but, still, they just don't get the love like the Glock, M&P, HK, etc.
The P01 is based in the legendary CZ75 but I carry a P07 instead because is the polymer version of the CZ75 with less weight and the bigger ejection port.
Great review!!! Have been watching you for some time 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I'm a retired Chicago PD Officer and appreciate your hard work you put in your videos and passion! BLUE LIVES MATTER ALL LIVES MATTER. THANK YOU.
MAC--I'm an old .45 guy and have to have a safety on my pistols. I purchased a Turkish canik c100 upgrade of a cz75 compact --lol. I must live in the sticks since I had never seen a cz prior to my purchase. With an aluminum frame it's lighter than the cz and the manual safety gives me more options than a decocker. It's an inexpensive pistol but the machining and finish is as good as if not better than its parent. You are possibly the only expert that confirms my beliefs regarding safety and protecting the burrito --lol. Keep up the great work.

This CZ P01 is called in Czech republic CZ75 D-Compact and Policie of the Czech republic is issued by this gun. I have to say that this is by my opinion, the best CZ pistole they made. I used this gun for 15 years of my duty and its never let me down. My good friend whos working in Uhersky Brod factory, where they made them, he told me how much they controle every measure of pistol parts. To be honest with you, im not happy with their other product CZ805 Bren rifle, but this pistol is really great. Truth is, that CZUB was so much forced by the police to re-made and upgrade this gun so much, that after enormous effort, they really succed and they made a great pistol.
I nailed it! I've become a bit of a CZ fanboy after owning and daily carrying a 75 compact. I was pretty sure that wasn't the Sphinx that you had in the Galil video. I'm eager to hear how the Cajun Gunworks job turns out. I've been considering sending mine to them or buying parts and doing the work myself.
I've begun to really like the CZ type pistols. I hope you do a full review of the IWI Jericho 941. I liked the first shots video you did a while back but I couldn't find a follow-up. Anyway, thanks for yet another informative yet, entertaining video.
I carry a P10c (from Copper Custom) and just got a 75 B Omega from another vendor. Oh it's like butter. I tried multiple types of ammo and this thing just runs. Not a single glitch in the first hundred rounds. Apparently, they don't need a break-in period. I'm practicing with a double pull, single pull, then decock and start over. Just an outstanding firearm. "Love me some 80's style double action autos!"
I'd love a P-01 for carry, however I'm thinking about a PCR, too. The PCR is lighter, and I don't think a rail on a carry pistol would be all that useful to me.
The nice thing about CZ pistols is the fact that if has has a decocker, it decocks the hammer into a half cocked position making a shorter trigger pull than your standard da pistol. If it has a safety, the safety can not be engaged in the double action position, only in single action. Excellent designed pistols.
In the slow motion intro you can see small flakes of brass flying out of the ejection port. Pretty cool to be able to see that. I find some specs in some of my pistols when cleaning.
Great vid Tim! I've always been a DA/SA guy since I fell in love with USP's back in the day. To this day, while I love the simplicity and robustness of the Glock 19 and 34....the P-07 and P-09 really drive my love for DA/SA's home. And not to mention the value in these pistols.
+Military Arms Channel - at 6:48, you say you can't get used to carrying the PPQ "and guns like that", and insinuate because it's a capacity thing. The PPQ 9mm is a 15+1 capacity, so I'm wondering if maybe I just misunderstood what you were intending to convey.
Yeah I figure he meant PPS. I carry a PPS and do generally carry a spare mag around. I just can't comfortably carry a double stack when it's not jacket weather.
Good call, seems like not a lot of people know of them. I love my Clingers, I like that I can get a lot of cant (I have a 30deg model and it makes hiding a FS G20 a breeze at the 0330-0400 position and they put the clip mounting point in the right place (you can get the same holster a million places but the location of the clip on Clingers is what's done "more right" then any others I've seen, even COntact Concealment).... BUT. ... they can sometimes need work out of the box, at least the single-clip, wrap style IWB ones do. Of the 4 I own of the type by Clinger My P-07 and my original XDs version had to have over a 1/2" cut off the sweat guard and the opening was re-curled back into the grip in a way that peeled off the decal grips on both pistols (like "above" and behind the two screw points it ran back like it was closing the opening in the holster) and served NO function in retaining the gun (done almost solely by the trigger guard). It's well made in general but it was like they didn't final cut it and just smoothed and sent it out. Luckily I'm handy with a Dremmel cut-off wheel and a shaper/sander, and I like fiddling with things, otherwise they'd have gone back. I also wish they'd offer an IWB holster that could accommodate a light cause I think that's a majorly overlooked part of the CCW/Kydex holster market. To that end I'm going to try out the Black Point Tac. "Mini-wing" and I'm trying to find a simple hybrid-style leather/kydex shell type of the same for my P-07/TLR3 or X1 combo.
Great Vid. Good to others appreciating good old CZ. I got to shoot the PCR a year ago and was like "this thing is awesome! Why don't more people have one!"
Your arguments in the Sphinx video regarding DA/SA vs striker in appendix carry were persuasive and paralleling my own. I carry an M&P9c with no safety in appendix, and I had been thinking some of the same things. As such, I have been looking at DA/SA pistols, mostly CZ75 types. Any opinions on the CZ75 D PCR? Of the CZ guns that's the one that looks the most interesting to me, coming from carrying the much smaller M&P compact.
love my cz 75 sp-01 Tactical. It's my favorite full size carry gun. I don't really carry anything but a cz anymore. love my p-01 too. Both are extremely easy to get on target and stay on target.
I might be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure a neat feature of the CZ Omega trigger is the ability to swap out the decocker for a safety lever. Great handguns!
I just picked up a CZ P-01 with a CGW trigger job, old style CZ trigger with the large hook, and 13# main spring. The DA pull measures roughly 7lbs and the SA pull is about 3.5lbs. Loving it so far. Hopfully your P-01 is just as awesome as mine if not better when you get it back.
I finally got my hands on a P09 Duty SR around New Years, and it is miles better than my previous CCW. That trigger did take some getting used to, truth be told. The DA pull is a tad heavy at 12lbs but I'll take that with the decocker.
With all respect I'd recommend carrying a spare mag. It's more for malfunction mitigation than needing the rounds. Self defense situations are ugly with people putting their hands on your gun etc. Huge majority of semi auto malfunctions can be cleared by stripping out that mag and putting a fresh one in and running the slide.
I know you don't want to. I don't either. It's a pain in the butt, literally! lol. Just your chances of being able to pull off that maneuver while running or fighting is going to be pretty low. In my experience you are more likely to end up with a mag on the ground and a very expensive hammer in your hand.
+Christopher bills mags on P07 are incredible, it fits my hand like a dream, shoots great, love the trigger in both DA and SA. only issue I have is frame swell, which apparently is acceptable and causes no issues.
I primarily carry and train with a Glock 19. I used to have extended slide stops on my Glocks, but after shooting CZ-75s I started locking the slide open on my Glocks while shooting. Because the frame of the CZ rides up so high, it was causing my support hand to ride higher. I've since gone back to the standard Glock slide stop and that solved the problem.
I was trained on revolvers. It took me forever to get used to SA shooting. First shot was never a problem for me. I now carry a CZ clone, and my range gun is a full size CZ clone. They are the best shooting pistols I have ever fired.
+Lars how convenient that you have both LEO friends AND someone who has been in a self defense shooting saying the same thing. Even knowing someone who has been in a self defense shooting is incredibly rare. It doesn't happen that often.......anyway, I do plenty of shooting under stress and within 10 yards I can't even tell you if I ever looked at the sights. And this is competition shooting. I'd tend to agree that in a true self defense situation (most, as in more than 85% happen within a few yards) you'll never even look at your sights. You will point and shoot. You really going to post up and take careful aim on someone trying to kill you that's 4 yards away? Nope.
Could be at the local Ghetto-Mart with florescent lighting. But, the night sights will work in there too, but the fiber optic will light up, and the tritium only sights won't.
I own a PCR, very similar to your P01 except for the trigger, lack of a rail, and of course the sights. I trust it with my life. My son has the new P07 which does have the Omega trigger and a rail, but a polymer frame. We frequently swap pistols and I don't think we will ever own anything but CZ's. Seriously considering the SP01 Phantom or Shadow. Thanks for the upload!
The p01 has already gone through more strenuous tests than he can put it through. Maybe have an argument with the omegas but the original p01 has the NSN stamped on the side for a reason.
+Military Arms Channel Woah, you actually prefer the CZ more than a Sig?! I'm going to have to really look at the CZ because I have never even picked one up. I love my full size Springfield XDm, XDs, and Sig 320, but I am going to have to check 'em out. Any certain models I should check out?
There are two kinds of CZ's. I prefer those based on the original CZ-75. The grip angles and the triggers are why I prefer them. This would include the P-01's and SP-01's and of course the standard CZ-75 and CZ-75 compact models. Then you have the new generation, the P-07 and P-09. These are very good but have slightly different ergonomics. I would try both.
I am a die hard 1911 fan but am growing to love CZ pattern pistols more and more. As a 45 shooter, I plan to get a SAR K2 CZ clone in a 14+1 45 ACP. Next investment.
The main reason to carry a spare magazine is in case the one in the gun fails for some reason. You can replace it with the spare. Having more ammo available is also good.
I'm a Hoosier myself, was raised and still reside in the Raccoon Lake area. Home town of the ol' Covered Bridge Festival.. Come on out and so some fishin'!!
I have a full size CZ75 clone. I love the pointability of the pistol. I've been looking at the compacts for a carry gun. Glad to see I'm not the only one who's a fan of this design of handgun. I love my Glocks too but a little variety is never a bad thing. Lol
I do take it out to the range and I open carry it on the range but not my everyday carry. It's not my favorite but love shooting it. I did the same and change yet sights. Thanks for sharing. I'm a fan and watch all your video reviews. Happy 4rth of July bro.
I run 2 very similar pistols- CZ PCR and SP -01 tactical, both with VZ G-10 grips. I agree with every point you made in this video! No finer pistols on the market imho.
I really like your new approach in your vids. Since the 10mm vid I noticed more of you personality wise and is kinda what was missing there. Great content as always. BTW I never understood the problem people in the industry have with DA SA. When all that is needed is diligent practice and any capable person can master it. I think it's time for me to get in the CZ game. I've been contemplating the purchase far too long. I'm pulling the trigger this week.
Aside from my Glocks, I'm going full CZ. Love my P-01. It's dated 2013, so it's got the NSN number, which is pretty cool. Getting it cerakoted soon, can't wait!
I have the non omega P-01 and it's a great gun. I put the Cajun spring and hammer kit in it and the trigger is great. The problem for me is that I carry my 1911's much easier so a compact CZ doesn't make much sense. So I'm selling it to get a full size because I do love CZ pistols. It's a great gun and the Omegas are very cool because of the better trigger and you can swap the style of safety.
I'm the same way.I keep getting"the day/night"sights are coming or on the way" from kriss. So I bought a cz po7 that I can make my own rather than a pistol that there is no parts available for your customization .Still love the sphinx sdp just wish kriss would get their rear in gear and make some parts for it.
CGW does outstanding work. Granted it may be different on the omega guns but I ordered and installed their pro-kit on the standard P-01 and it was night and day. Have David send the gun back with the spring pack. The blue 13# XL spring he sends it back with will set any primer off under the sun, but if you stick to decent ammunition you can probably get down to about the 11 without any light strikes. If he is fluffing and buffing while it is there more than likely you can get down to the 8# main spring as long as you're punching Federal primers. Your DA pull is going to be astounding when it returns. When he asks what you want done, the correct answer is. "everything". Trust me.
I wish they still made the SP-01 phantom. I love the polymer frame and the fact that it is basically still a 75 (takes 75 mags, unlike the P-07 & P-09)
I have a CZ75b in polished stainless looking to put tfx sights and vz g10 grips and grip tape around the front and back strap and maybe put a Cajun gun works race hammer
I have a cz accushadow by cz custom shop, it has the best double action trigger I have ever fired, they also have custom p01 builds and parts available.
i guess it is kinda off topic but does anybody know a good place to watch new series online?
@Rowan Miguel Ehh try flixportal. you can find it on google :P -luis
@Luis Orlando thank you, I signed up and it seems like a nice service =) I really appreciate it!!
@Rowan Miguel no problem =)
@@rowanmiguel8435 What do you mean new series online?
I carry a CZ 75 compact PCR. I like it a lot.
Larry Robinson same. Best compact pistol I’ve ever shot
I bought an all steel Sp-01 on 6/30 and finally got to shoot it yesterday. I absolutely love how it shoots, right to the point of aim and the recoil is minimal at best. One of the best pistols I've ever owned, hands down.

Not anymore. they are coming up! Especially with their fairly new Glock killer, P-10.. 🤙🏻
The P01 is based in the legendary CZ75 but I carry a P07 instead because is the polymer version of the CZ75 with less weight and the bigger ejection port.
Lets Czech out what CZ MAC Is carrying today...
well played there sir.
+wild bill hi Wild bill hot dogs for dinner??
MAC I have been a Police Office for 27 years, and a firearms instructor for 20 of those years. I really enjoy watching you videos. Good job!!!
Great review!!! Have been watching you for some time 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I'm a retired Chicago PD Officer and appreciate your hard work you put in your videos and passion! BLUE LIVES MATTER ALL LIVES MATTER. THANK YOU.
Very good points, I'm from the same camp. I carry both appendix and at 3:00. Preferred carry pistol is a DA/SA Beretta PX4 Compact.
I forgot to add that I served with nato in Turkey prior to going to NAM. I sure wish that it would be possible to review the M79 grenade launcher. My preferred weapon loaded with 29 ball bearing for the Central Highland's passes in my MG mounted jeep--lol.
I’m also an old 1911 guy. That’s why I had my CZ’s converted to single action only. Just gotta ride that safety.
This CZ P01 is called in Czech republic CZ75 D-Compact and Policie of the Czech republic is issued by this gun. I have to say that this is by my opinion, the best CZ pistole they made. I have the regular (not omega) p-01 and I absolutely love it, accurate, ergonomic and reliable. Great video.
I bought both! These guns need a Surgeons General Warning for Addictive Product
The nice thing about CZ pistols is the fact that if has has a decocker, it decocks the hammer into a half cocked position making a shorter trigger pull than your standard da pistol. If I didn't carry striker fired guns it'd be a CZ for sure
Great political vid you did on Cali yesterday. (Not trying to bother you, just get it out there that you have a great run down on the new laws).
The P07 is the perfect carry CZ. Not too heavy like its bigger brothers, nice trigger, great capacity, light.
i just bought the cz p07 in urban grey
Urban grey looks sooo good on a P07. I found out about that color after I bought my black P07
CZ gods won't but CZ hoards will.
To answer the question in the video title - No, I'm just happy to see another MAC video.
GAUNTLET, GAUNTLET, GAUNTLET!!
Cajun gun works does amazing work! I have a PO-9 and my SPO1 reworked by them couldn't be happier.
Compare the CZ P-01 and the Rex Zero .
Richard Mccain good idea
In the slow motion intro you can see small flakes of brass flying out of the ejection port. Pretty cool to be able to see that. I find some specs in some of my pistols when cleaning.
Nice camera angle on the pistol!
Thanks for the info, Mack. Your endorsements are part of the reason I got into CZs.
Yeah, but how does it 80`s hip fire?
Love my cz75 b omega also and I to put hiviz on . Awesome. My double single are now so close together it's nearly one hole. Great show.
Does it take glock magazines though?
Someone should smack you for a comment like that.
+jameslovesjammie lol it's a joke
It's just a joke, relax.
Hahaha someone asked that about the VZ58 the other day lol
lighten up, francis
Totally agree, I bought a CZ75 D compact PCR a while back, that & your P01 Compact are my fave CZs
This review reminds me how much I love my CZ PCR!
I like the CZ period! I also like the Hi power too but the CZ makes the more upto date pistol. I just traded a hi power for a CZ 75B omega .
Great choice, Tim! I love my SP-01 and have modded it with almost every goodie Cajun Gun Works has. You will not be disappointed.
My EDC is a CZ75D. Never had or wanted a striker fired pistol. I stoke it with the Colt solid copper hollowpoints. It's a great combo.
I have been carrying a CZ-p01 since last year. Its an amazing gun. Most Israeli as you know carry a CZ, Glock or their version of CZ type pistol.
Always nice to watch a video of a firearm that I have a cousin of on my hip at the moment, a non omega P-01 in a Pitbull tactical holster.
It'CZ to shoot that gun.
I see what ya did there
lol
Very good pun. You have my like.
I read that "Very poor gun"
You're a clever fella :)

I bought the same sights you have on your Handguns you showed in the video and the difference is night and day thank you so much.

I was just about to comment the same thing
I did have a thought in that maybe you meant to say "PPS", which would have the lower capacity like you described.
Yeah I figure he meant PPS. I carry a PPS and do generally carry a spare mag around. I just can't comfortably carry a double stack when it's not jacket weather.
Have the same set up. Same sights same trigger. About to duplicate with 2nd po1. Love the vids and information. Thank you.
Just a little FYI for you guys. The contact concealment holsters are $60. I got the same exact holster from clinger for $35. Cheers!
I have been using it for about ab year. No problems

CZ P07 and 97B next plz... i want a 97 so bad, but there is barely any reviews
SAR K2. $400 14+1 CZ clone, with two mags, a safety that locks on DA or SA hammer position, lower rail, SS barrel. Have it, love it.
I finally got my hands on a P09 Duty SR around New Years, and it is miles better than my previous CCW. That trigger did take some getting used to, truth be told. The DA pull is a tad heavy at 12lbs but I'll take that with the decocker.
Would you mind just reviewing a Tri-Star product just for the heck of it? CZ clone just to see how it functions.
I agree with you on the da/sa. For the reasons you stated, my carry guns are da/sa while my range only guns are sao and dao.

Or carry a revolver.
Because no one has ever grabbed a revolver cylinder and broken the timing...
. If you're concerned with a close in attacker grabbing your gun, carry a knife as well. Could care less either way.
I love my CZ pcr compact...might have to take a serious look at the omega
ten yards for steel Targets.. seen I ricochet hit a guy near the eye
I appreciate the concern. I've been shooting steel for 20 some years so I know the risks and I've yet to suffer a major injury.
Notice that the steel is angled slightly relative to his shooting position. If there is a ricochet, it will not go back to the shooter.
When is this one going to get the element testing?
just a heads up. I kno u know what ur doing. and thanks for all the good videos. keep them coming really like the vid about the cz p10c
Excellent video. Thanks. Just picked up the CZ P-01 and looking forward to adding it to my CCW permit. You also convinced me to add the TFX sights.
Sticking with the topic of CZ, what is your opinion on the P07 and P09? Thanks and Happy and safe 4th.
yes would like to see thoughts on the P0-9 and 7
oh and the RAMI
I have a P-09. It's beyond sweet. Easily in the top 5 pistols I've ever shot.
+agp1209 I've noticed, at least in youtube, the P07 has been getting a lot of love. (i got my cz before it was cool)
+Christopher bills mags on P07 are incredible, it fits my hand like a dream, shoots great, love the trigger in both DA and SA. only issue I have is frame swell, which apparently is acceptable and causes no issues.
I carry this exact setup but with an inforce aplc light and it is hands down the best carry gun I have ever used.
Would love to see a torture test on the P-01.
The NATO test is pretty torturous but I would like to see one too.
I have the same sights on my P229 and they are awesome. Good choice.
Love the Cz but what about the HKP30 or P30L?
I primarily carry and train with a Glock 19. I used to have extended slide stops on my Glocks, but after shooting CZ-75s I started locking the slide open on my Glocks while shooting. Because the frame of the CZ rides up so high, it was causing my support hand to ride higher. I've since gone back to the standard Glock slide stop and that solved the problem.
Once you go Cajun you never go back!
I was trained on revolvers. It took me forever to get used to SA shooting. First shot was never a problem for me. I now carry a CZ clone, and my range gun is a full size CZ clone. They are the best shooting pistols I have ever fired.
I think your carry gun should have night sights. If you need to use your carry gun it will most likely be at night.
Aww, I love you too.
Torture test the cz p-01
Tony Nunez THANK U!
Tony Nunez he never tortures his Czs have you noticed? lol
The p01 has already gone through more strenuous tests than he can put it through. Maybe have an argument with the omegas but the original p01 has the NSN stamped on the side for a reason.
Yes
MAC---Just read the well done article about a "guru" in cz's new catalog. Well done sir!!
It seems you've got a lot of love for DA/SA lately. Don't like Sigs for carry?
Sigs like the P226 and P229 are fine pistols, but I much prefer the ergonomics of the CZ's.
+Justin Todd I mean obviously if he's carrying it over the sig lol
There are two kinds of CZ's. I prefer those based on the original CZ-75. The grip angles and the triggers are why I prefer them. This would include the P-01's and SP-01's and of course the standard CZ-75 and CZ-75 compact models. Then you have the new generation, the P-07 and P-09. These are very good but have slightly different ergonomics. I would try both.
+Military Arms Channel Will do. Thanks!
Ahh, CZ, my favorite. Me and my shooting buddies all own different models. Best pistols for the price you can get, if you ask me.
title should've been: "Is that a CZ Pistol in your pants? or are you just happy to see me"
I just put Lok Mayhem on my P-01. Same sights, wish the orange was alittle bit bigger on the front sights.
I just picked up a CZ-75D PCR. I just need to get a holster for it.
Not a lot of options for it. Legacy Firearms and HolsterCo are the only companies I’ve found that make anything for the PCR.
@@TheScaleTech I know Alien Gear and Clinger do as well. Clinger has one that looks like a decent entry level holster.
Never even heard of a Sphinx pistol. This is why im a subscriber to your channel.
Just picked up the P-01 Urban Grey, great pistol.
I have a full size CZ75 clone. I love the pointability of the pistol. I've been looking at the compacts for a carry gun. Glad to see I'm not the only one who's a fan of this design of handgun. I love my Glocks too but a little variety is never a bad thing. Lol
I went with the CZ SDP from the custom shop!! Sweet guns!!
I carry CZ P09 IWB/owb and a CZ P07 IWB/owb they ride in my KT MECH holsters. Great guns all around.
What Cz did you end up getting?
I put the Tru-Glo tfo sights on my xdm 9 3.8 and I highly recommend them. They are just what my aging eyes need.
You've gotten way better at shooting handguns over the years, you're fast as hell now and you're not milking the grip after every shot!
I put the same sights on mine. The orange dot on the front site could have been larger, but I love them.
I'm very happy that the Phantom is back in production.
I really like CZ pistols...I mostly carry my PCR but did just recently find a used P01 Omega. This one has made an excellent nightstand gun!
I do the same thing when carrying. p01 or RAMI. CZ ergonomics can't be beat.
I conceal my full size CZ75 B omega and I'm a 120lb 5'8" guy, its fantastic how easy it is hahaha i love my CZ
The P-07 and P-09 do accept regular CZ 75 mags. It is the regular 75s that can't accept P-07 or P-09 mags because they are fatter.
they made the p02 for a few years, it was the first attempt at the omega, with ambi safety instead of a decock.
I've had a P-01 since 2012. Phenomenal pistol that I'll never part with. Really like that Omega version.
I have a CZ75b in polished stainless looking to put tfx sights and vz g10 grips and grip tape around the front and back strap and maybe put a Cajun gun works race hammer
I'm a CZ devotee. The 75 SP-01 Tactical is my favorite 9.
