Thank you Jenny. After my son was killed in Nov of 2012 and after I could breath again, I wanted to do something special for the grandkids and his wife. I googled how to make a quilt, and there was Jenny's beautiful smiling face. After watching you for several days, (non stop) I thought "I can do this." You make it look so easy. As I found out, it isn't that easy. Well, I made 3 quilts in 12 months. Oh, did I tell you I didn't even own a sewing machine? Yep, my hubby took me down and bought me one, even tho I can't sew diddly. Well, now my 2 daughters, 2 sisters and the other 2 grandkids want one. What have I done? Jenny, you have been a HUGE part in my healing as well as the rest of his family, as they have his pictures on a quilt. I just wanted you to know what Missouri Star and your posts have done for us. Thank you dear lady. Thank you Missouri Star.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Quilting is very therapeutic . Plus, seeing what you created is like nothing else, even if it can be so difficult to figure things out. I’ve made my grandchildren quilts as well. Thank goodness we have these tutorials to guide us. Jenny has come to my rescue as well with finishing the binding. It’s a beautiful thing when it works …and mine did . Enjoy quilting,👍🏻

I hope and pray women like this will always exist. I just love the homelyness of the entire process. It takes quite a bit of intelligence to get all the fine points of quilt making or just sewing. My mom was self taught. She couldn't read or write, but she made quilts and simple clothes, curtains, pillowcases, etc. She looked at a picture and made her own patterns. At 65 I'm starting on my first quilt and will make one for each of my 3 grandkids with God's will and favor.

It doesn't matter how many quilts I bind, I have to come back here every time or I do it wrong. I always do the mitered corners backwards because I'm dyslexic but Jenny can walk me through it and as long as I pay attention, I get it done. Nicely. Thanks, Jenny.

Also how to sew the binding together at the end is amazing. I'm leaving a little more room so I know I can do it. Here it is 7 years later and we are still watching you. God bless you and Merry Christmas.

what a GREAT tutorial!! one of my friends in my quilting group told me to look to youtube for a tutorial for putting a binding on my quilt. Well this was the first one that popped up, and I have to say, she did an amazing job showing you from start to finish, every single step there is to putting your binding on your quilt!! And she spoke in easy to understand terms, made sure you could see up close what she was doing, at each new step in the process; just overall a great tutorial to watch. I will definitely save this video so that if I ever need to refer back to it, I won't have to go searching again!

First, I love you, Jenny!!! Went to one of your seminars in Greensboro, NC this past August and was thrilled to meet you in person. You light up the room with your smile and personality. Ok - I revisit this tutorial every time I have to sew a binding on one of my quilts, because I just don't get it. After reading a lot of the comments here, I am soooooooo glad that I'm not the only one who has a mental block about how to do this. I also start and stop the tutorial many times, rip out the seam A LOT, and then the light goes on and I get it! Biggest problem is how to turn the fabric, join and not twist it. I'll get it one of these days,. Thanks, Jenny, for all of your tutorials. I've watched so many and have learned so much.

You can never take this video off RUclips! I come back to it again and again every time I finish a quilt. I know exactly where the description of connecting the two ends of the binding is. I need this refresher course every time. Thank you!!!

Thank you for showing us how you finish the ending, this is something I've struggled with. Even my sewing tutor didn't know how to do bias binding and referred to Pintrest to show her.

Thank you for the great tutorial on binding a quilt. It's been years since I've quilted, and this was good to review exactly how to finish the quilt that I worked so hard on. Thank you again!

I have come back to this video often to help me with my binding. I find it so helpful. Two tips I’ve found helpful in my beginner's binding journey . . . Experiment with different size widths to find the one that works best for you. Mine is three inch for most things. Second, I machine sew both sides of my binding and going very slow helps me sew a better binding. When I first started, I went too fast for my skill level. I don’t have the eyes to hand sew and I don’t like how long it takes on even lap size quilts. So, I machine sew.

Thanks Jenny! I have the same problems with seams going the wrong way so now I know how to avoid that. Also I just did a pillow kit that said to make straight binding. I didn't know to sew the strips together on the bias at the seams (the few things I ve made so far called for bias binding). Eventually, I hope to get the rules down and remember them and just sit down and sew! Love your videos and your projects.

Thank you Jenny…I had begun hand piecing/hand quilting a quilt for my youngest daughter almost 32 years ago-and never finished it until recently. The entire quilt is by hand-except for the binding. I’ve never been one to love machine sewing so I was very hesitant about putting the binding on. Your very informative video helped me tremendously (after viewing it a gazillion times!) it turned out perfect! Now my “baby” girl finally gets her quilt and will be able to hand it down to her soon to be born baby. Thanks so much!! God bless!

    required when ending the binding...great!

This may be an older video, but….THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You are the first person I have found who actually specified how much fabric to cut away from the binding when you are joining the ends together. After two unsuccessful tries which left me scratching my head, you said “for a 2” wide binding, cut off 2” and I did that and my binding fit perfectly. So thank you again! Wendy
