I've been using an old school can opener to do this for years for beer can chicken. This tool will make it much much easier than wrestling and cussing my can opener 🤘
This gadget is ideal for any camping situation,so everyone can reuse the can for all the drinks. Or if you want people to think you’re drinking a soda, when you’re really drinking a beer.
They have newer models of draftop can openers that work far superior to the original 1.0. I work for the company that molds the parts for the device and it's such a delight to see this video floating around. To see small businesses promote each other is awesome. Great channel. You have a new subscriber.
I bought some beer here recently in Australia, Colonial Brewing Co. Pale Ale, and the ring pull takes of the whole top, so you get a can just like what's happening here. I hope it takes off with more breweries.
I just bought beer cans to do this, but my regular can opener did not work. The recess on tòp of can was too deep for my can opener to reach and get traction. I was in search of another solution when i found this video. Either your cans were made different, or my can opener too small.
I hope you're thoroughly washing the can before dunking the top into your drink, and then thoroughly washing your finger before using it to fish out the top.
So you get to stick the likely dirty tool into your drink immediately after you use it, in order to push down the lid which is also probably dirty, in order to drink a beverage from a can even though it should have been poured into a glass?
You don’t know how to wipe something clean before you use it? This could be the corona issue we have in this country... don’t buy it if you don’t want to use it.
There was a bad batch that had came out at one point. You most likely got two out of that batch if you picked two up at the same time. If two at different times it could be user error as you see with him he uses it quite a bit and still Failed on the bud light can at first. Either way there’s the draft top 2.0 out, but a can. Opener does the exact same thing. On the 2.0 Still have to grab the top out of the can after. Idk why they haven’t made an update on the new one that allows the top to come off with the tool after it cuts the lid free from the can. At least they could have made a hook to where you can open the can prior to opening it, cut the top off and have some type of lip on the tool that goes into the mouth opening and allows you to pull it out that way, or grab the tab and remove without getting Your hands wet. The reason I’m so invested in something like this is I drink the 450 north and other good brand slushy beers. You can drink them normal or hence the “slushy” name, you can toss them into a freezer for 20-30 minutes and it’s made or turn into an actual slushy. You should see what the can looks like after the purple Have gotten the slushy out of the can through the small hole. If they didn’t get frustrated within the first minute and just cut the can apart with a knife a scissors 😂
How do you check the bottom of a coke can? Or something that is dark colored? : "Dump it into a glass, check it for aluminum... if you're good, then dump it back into the can." . Is that what you're supposed to do?
They need to come up with something better that is too many turns to have to get it cut Maybe make it electric can opener rather than having to do it manually . What? I just gave somebody $1,000,000 ideal invention . Don't forget to bless me
Here we have liter cans with wider rims, I wonder if this gadget is adjustable for bigger sizes.Do we need to get it sharpened every now and then ? Can I also use this tool for empty cans ? Thank you
why don't they just make 'em like a fruit cup pull tab cover? Also, I've seen aluminum cans before filling and sealing, and they look like your end result. (I haven 't seen how they compress the lid onto the can though). are you sure this thing is CUTTING the can? maybe it's just twisting off the lid...
The construction of the can adds the "lid" by basically folding the edges over each other forming a seal that won't break off easily...aka yes it is cutting it
Thanks for the video, Chris. I purchased the Mintiml, which purportedly does the same thing from another different, yet, outstanding Chinese company. Complete garbage. However, your product is a bit larger design and may do the job. Hoping to see a few more positive reviews and then maybe I'll take another chance. Not sure why I want this, but it does seem cool, if I can find one that actually works as designed. Don't think I'll be getting rid of that sleeve of Solo cups anytime soon, but let's see. Thanks again.
Thanks for watching! But no, it is only for the top of the can. It won't secure itself to the bottom in order to cut it. It requires that lip at the top.
Most if not all CA California recycling centers will refuse to take these for the $0.05 CA redemption and only payout on the raw Aluminium weight, it at all. Just what I want a dirty lid inside of my otherwise sterile drink.
Is there a way to do this in reverse? I ask this because I have a can without a top that I want to save but it has no top on it and if I removed a top from one can I could put it on another if this makes sense to people.
Exactly one of the tips I share in this video! As for Motorz, new episodes are no longer published to RUclips. You can find it at www.motorz.tv, TV, and Amazon Prime Video.
Coming to the show late. 2021. Aaaaaaaand the chinese are in like dirty shirts with the copies for $10bux. Patent wasn't strong enough I guess. But still a very slick idea.
Do you still have this tool? Went to the website to get one and they are unavailable. I sent an email to the company and was told they will be available in a few months. I need one today for some projects I am working on. Willing to pay real money for it.
Nope.. I don’t wanna stick the dirty lid INTO my drink.. and I’d rather not have to “pick” away at grabbing the lid. A little bit of a mess..? You should be SOBER and have a flat table to wipe down after messing with this thing. Bring this tool with you.. lol. C’mon. Let’s go brandon
@@chris I was happy with it. We like White Claw and our baby like to play with cans so this makes it nice and smooth for her to hold. Very impressed with the new V2 model
Thats more than a 90 degree twist, and I'd argue that "tool" to remove it isn't much of a tool. Poking the filthy lid into my drink? Sticking a dirty tool and or fingers into my drink? Check for "possible shavings"? This thing is an all around fail in my book.
Like I said in the video, it just depends on the can, the amount of pressure, etc. Some cans open up a lot quicker as seen in the video. As for your "filthy lid" comment, most people put their lips right up to a can without wiping it or cleaning it whatsoever, so what really is the difference? You can also pull the tab before using the tool so there's a minimal dunking of the top when you peel it up instead of pushing it down. Yes, the "possible shavings" is just a precaution (kind of like McDonalds telling people that their coffee is hot), but as I noted in the video--I've never seen one and I doubt I ever will. Overall it's an excellent tool, and no--I'm not paid to say that. I just think it's pretty f'n awesome and I will continue to use it all the time. Not a fail in my book! Thanks for watching 👍
Terrible Idea.!!! Who wants the whole aluminum "lid" floating & sinking into the can of drink.?? Yuck.!!! Then, if ya want the lid "out of your drink", then you have to stick your fingers into your drink to TRY to pull it out easily. YUCK Again.!!
I use the empty cans to grow herbs in.
Perfect!
Is this just me or has the smell of an aluminum can never been a factor
it doesn't matter on light beers but it makes a different on heavier beers. Specially IPA and Stouts.
Never... ipa, lager, apple juice, or even water.
I've been using an old school can opener to do this for years for beer can chicken. This tool will make it much much easier than wrestling and cussing my can opener 🤘
Yes, and probably won't mutilate it as much! 😂

Man, I just end up crushing the can every time.
A normal can opened will do the same. Now if they have a way to pull the lid out after that would be cool.
no it works differently and always makes a jagged edge

...but can't you just put it in a cup is my question its cool but...cups exist
I love this thing however how do I get the wrinkles out after I remove the top????
That's my complaint too.
You can use a razor or exact knife and just score it till it comes off
Don’t grip so tight 😂
RESULTS!
I use to do this with a regular can opener
Sameee

great for recycling the can after you've drunk the contents. plant pot, container, etc
Have you ever seen those soda can solar heaters...this would make it so much easier to construct..pretty cool invention
Whoa! I've never even heard of that. Crazy. Thanks for the comment!
you can do that exactly the sale with any can opener.

Nice idea but the cans are so thin they dent like crazy. Any idea how to firm up the can? Like maybe coating the inside with resin?
They are single use.
You can freeze the can before cutting the lid. But, don't keep in freezer for too long.
You can legit do this with a regular can opener it works just fine if not better
