Jake, you've got some of the best content! This flower has been trending pretty hard recently, and it's making me want to try to grow one. Keep doing what you do!
Thank you for saying that! Also. Let your neighbors know when it flowers so they don’t call the cops reporting a dead body😅Im pretty sure I heard about that happening somewhere??
Jake!! This is AMAZING!! 👏👏 would LOVE to see a documentary about corpse flowers? Can we grow them in our homes??? On another note, lol, glad u put that beeotch in her place & fought of the security! Beautiful content!
I know some people have grown them in their collections at least in the short term though I’m not sure what the culture entails. This plant was in the aquatic house and it was VERY humid and warm. So it might strictly be a greenhouse plant. But I’ll definitely consider a future video on it!
I grow many Monstera deliciosas in our gardens. The fruit has a sweet and fresh taste but what I like more is its heavenly scent! It is the sweetest, aromatic smell in the world. Last year we sold our first batch of baby Monsteras grown from seeds. Unfortunately this year the plants suffer from scorching drought and those that are not in full shade are looking sad and will grow no or less flowers. Due to the drought most of our big bamboo plants are postponing putting out new shoots this year despite it being the time for it.
Judging by how close people got to sniff, I'm guessing the end of bloom time is less rancid smelling? Thank you for your commitment 🥶 to bringing us along for a front row peep of this rarity in nature. A deep dive video would be awesome!😻
Monstera flowers and produces fruits abundantly in Brazil, it was the favorite fruit of Princess Isabel when there was Monarchy In Brazil, back in the 1800 centuries
Ha, you're the lucky one to see that, does it heat up, as I heard these "flowers" do to attract pollinators, along with the smell. As for mosntera deliciosa taste, it's more of a hype, I guess, than the taste itself. We were fortunate to have one during our trip to China, but the taste, it has hints of this and that (what I was able to distinguish were the hints of a pinapple, banana, and strawberry, but very very mild, as if very very diluted). Who knows, maybe you will get lucky someday and share your experience with us. Have a great one!
Amorphophallus do heat up but we weren’t allowed to touch the plant due to its fragility. Interesting that you had a disappointing experience with monstera fruit! Everyone I’ve heard talk about it says it’s divine.

1:48 I am always interested in learning about plants especially from you Jake you make it entertaining and fun!
Monstera deliciosa fruit is tasty, sort of like pineapple but not as astringent. Something you have to try to understand.
I would watch anything from you 😂but documentaries of any kind sound especially awesome! Thank you for freezing to show us the corpse flower ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! There are more docs on the way!

That sounds amazing! How many monstera fruits do you get each season?
Random-I went to a train show here and it’s so so beautiful! I can’t imagine standing in the cold that long lol
Cool! Didn’t know they had train shows!

Thanks Erica! From what I understand, when the flower first opens, it reeks, but then the smell gets weaker as the hours and days pass.

Good to know! Perhaps it flowers more frequently in nature but not in captivity.
