America: The Full English does contain one controversial ingredient, black pudding. England: Nah mate, there's a controversial ingredient on that plate alright, but it's the hash browns! You don't know what sort of argument you just started. 😄
This is great! My daughter and I are planning on going to London next summer. We’re both vegan and even though this video is not geared specifically towards vegan food, you have shown that London has many vegan options!
Oh SO many!! I know the BEST vegan-friendly spots in London. They're all included in my London guides! Shop.loveandlondon.com it will be easy to get our guides instead of trying to do all the research yourself ❤️
Feel the need to correct you Jess, fried potatoes are not part of a full English breakfast, as soon as you add them or chips it becomes lunch. Black pudding is a traditional part of a fry up. Also Dishoom is a chain restaurant, not the real deal. If you want to eat real vegetarian Indian food head to Euston's Drummond street just up the road, or head out into the suburbs of Wembley and Kingsbury/Queensbury.
absolutely. the statement that a full English "always contains some sort of fried potato" is completely wrong. More like, it almost NEVER cotains fried potatoes.
Oh wow. Everything looks amazing! I think I even want to try the veggie options as even they looked great. Side note: That dinner of eclectic leftovers must be quite the experience.
Another nice video! Just got back from our latest trip and did hit some recommendations from your videos and guides (not British dishes...). Totally different from Dishoom, but we splurged on dinner at Gymkhana. I think that's our new every trip splurge! Indian food has always been amazing in London. And then we got hit with some sort of bug, and there went our other eating out plans...
If you are in the US, Vienna, Virginia’s Pure Pasty Co. is the place to go. They won the 2018 World Pasty Championships in Cornwall, England, in the prestigious Open Savoury Category. Well-deserved IMHO. You can get there by metro from Washington, D.C.
Fabulous. Don't forget all of my top recommended restaurants are in my guides, they save you a TON of research time and trying to work out how to put it all together into an itinerary that makes sense... Shop.loveandlondon.com
I'd say Pie and Mash with liqour is more of a East London speciality rather than a British dish. Dishoom I feel has become the standard tourist recommendation nowadays. It's half decent, but the discerning Indian places in London are in Tooting or in the suburbs of Wembley or Kingsbury/Queensbury area; Regency, Spice Rack, Everest, Suravana Bhavan.
I'm a big fan of the ploughman's lunch and that is quintessentially English. No arguments on the two deserts but you could do an entire episode on English puddings (and maybe you should) . I'm a fan of the summer pudding. I missed out on the roast when I was there a few weeks ago as a lot of the kitchens didn't open for the evening service
No black pudding Thank you. I don't know where I'm staying yet, but I'm learning. Living in Wisconsin Fish frys are a big deal looking forward to the fish and chips.
If you don’t feel like paying for a full afternoon tea some museums have snacks and pastries that might be served at afternoon tea so you can get a taste of afternoon tea without paying for a afternoon tea kind of disappointed that you didn’t much humble crumble that was my favorite spot in London
Nice start of the video from beautiful Soho Square Gardens which is an amazing spot in London! Thanks for sharing this delicious British food guide which looks so good! Happy 1st of December Jess and Love and London. ❤💚🎁✨ɢʙ

@@keithhealing1115 chipped potatoes were from Portugal . The fried fish bit came from Morocco. The idea of it being the UK national dish comes from ww2. No rationing on fish and spuds grow under you.
@@markadams738 Fish and chips were popular in the UK before WW2, thanks to the railways allowing fresh fish to be transported rapidly. It just surprised me that the first Indian opened 50 years before the first chippie - particularly with the overt racism and fear of "foreigners" that is rife now.
@@keithhealing1115 I've always found it odd that it is labelled as a national dish though. I read it was Ww2 that created that myth although as you say it was popular before then.

Hi Jess so glad to see you once again. I made this video a fav for when I visit London again in September I will have to go and try these out. I, like you, have been a vegetarian and thank goodness I can rely on the UK for so many options unlike the US. Jess, you are on of my favorites along with Hannah Ricketts a vlogger and Fil Henley a muscian both by the way are British ! So Jess, you really scared my when you had that non veggie meal at first from The Breakfast Club -Whew... Was wondereing though,,would hope the gravy is not beef stock? I did try the Pasty in Bath England first time and I enjoyed it and then at Paddinton so that will be a go to when I come back to UK. Be well from Howard. USA

Lol you're right
As a brit, a hash brown is a must on my full English, sorry
I like British food, but I like Jess even more.

Canary Wharf ! Yes it's a big one
We were there! (Poppies, and Dishoom, and Black Dog for Sunday roast) . . . September '24
Yummyyyyy
Now that Simpson's Tavern is closed, what is the best traditional chop house? Quality Chop House seems too trendy for me.

Jess - where's the ploughman's lunch?
Hard to find a good one in central London to film!
Or ploughmen I guess
There’s many traditional pubs in central London that include an excellent ploughman’s lunch; just explore a little off the tourist trap areas 👍🏼😋
Surely this must be titled ‘the complete London food guide’? 🤷🏻♂️

That's why it's British not London. A complete London guide would include tons of cuisines.
fried eggs on a full English, surely mate. Also, I've never seen Greenwich so empty.
