Great video Allen. I agree never use push fit.i done my C&G in the 60's.my mate recently had a leak under his bath it looked like spagetti junction i didnt know where to start with these new builds. In my day pipes had to be properly supported and straight or as a apprentice i would get a thick ear. Im amazed how quick they can plumb a house these days but to me its shoddy work most of the time.
@@AllenHart999 probably more than I spotted, no tundish and undersized discharge pipework from unvented, expansion on hot outlet, heating vessel doesn't look secured, fluff build up inside guaze filter on bbu burner, and everything wrong with that waste pipe 😂
Like the idea of press fit. Only draw back I can see is your called to a job and don't hav correct Jaws etc. Think to many different types out there should hav been made to make them all one type
Not cheap for the average diy’er, but very interesting tho, I’m looking at moving some radiator in my house, would this be a better option or stick to push fit for small jobs?
There's no tundish on the tprv....maybe the pipe size for the D1 should be 22mm.....that's about my level of knowledge for unvented 😂 oh yeah and its possibly overheated and then caused a leak at some point?
That areomatic burner never been strip clean in years to get in that state. Most off younger engineers won't even know to take end off and clean at service
Great vid, I just started using press fittings with a new company. It's definitely quick, but with tricky runs in older domestic properties planning my pipe run and what order I'll press the fittings in has been the toughest part of the learning curve.
@@AllenHart999 cheers Alan, I don't think it's a case of going back, for most jobs it's great, for some I prefer the way soldered joints look, which is totally aesthetic.
I'm very keen to have a go with this mlcp pipe and pressing as it has its benefits especially when working on wet pipework and speed but my question is ,does it get damaged by vermin as with push fit plastic which I will not use.have you ever seen the pipe chewed
Seen copper that was chewed thru by rats they can chew thru just about anything thankfully not common. Mice common for plastic the new stuff barrier pipe supposed to stop them trouble is fittings ain't
Why you don't reply to messages? I just would like to know if there is a press tool that just by swapping jaws can do multilayer and copper and if there are adaptor to use in confined spaces like 90 degree or something.
I reckon it is getting blocked because there isn't sufficient fall - the pipe is horizontal. Water is sitting in the pipe with bits of kitchen waste and these eventually congeal and block the flow. A poor installation.

Good job 👍 mate
Thanks
Great video. One question, is all MLCP pipe compatible with all brands of fittings? for example, can you use uponor pipe with tweetop fittings?
I use Blansol MLCP fittings Thanks.

It's a hell of an investment for a few joints.
Where can i find these
It’s not really for DIY. Thanks.
Say you were re piping a bungalow will all drops on show would you use press fit
Yes, I use it on all my jobs. Thanks

You watched to the end thank you. I will do a video soon and answer. Thanks.
My only guess with the BBU was that fluff and debris had choked the mesh filter. Unrelated but can't see the thermocouple capiliary tube on that BBU?

Good video Allen, "press fit all day long" for me. Well done Nick
JK 👍👍👍
2:20 of course you can
Excellent as always Alan. That waste for the bath trying to run uphill in the flexie joint really creased me up.
Thank you so much for watching it all😂😂😂
Good stuff for sure... Really sad that is only start to use in UK in last 5- 10 year... And still very very ignored by trade
What do you use? Thanks.
Nice one Allen, how times change the state of plumbing. I wonder, how many are still out there who can wipe lead pipe?
I might do a video on some old school stuff soon. Thanks for watching.
Glad you could make some use of it. 👍
Keep sending them. Thanks so much.
Hi Alan what Combi boiler would you recommend for a static caravan? Any ideas?
Something small and light, Maybe an ideal logic. Thanks.

For a guy that doesn't do a lot of installs, this is very informative. Thanks
Thanks for watching and commenting. Any questions just ask👍

Hi Alan great vid as always👍I have the Geberit press fit gun. Do you know if you can get jaws for it to do the composite pipe?
Yes you can. I use Hilti jaws in mine. Thanks
@@AllenHart999 thanks Alan 👍
Where do you buy mlcp pipe and fittings from?
Where is best place to get food deal to buy theses guns
No idea of any deals tbh. Thanks.
Can I buy only 1 pressfit gun with jaws either for copper and mlcp?
What’s the rough cost of these fittings
A bit more than push fit. Thanks.
Are the fittings a lot more dearer than push fit and yorkshire fittings?
They are a little bit more than push fit but a lot better quality. Thanks
@@AllenHart999 Quality wins every time
I always go for quality, but I also want the customer to agree to a price, which is tough out here.
Thank you for the nice comments btw allen.
You are my pipework star.

Stephen K0nig Thank you for watching the full video👍 The outlet near the wall is higher than the trap, you are correct ❤️
