Good to see your shop full of customer cars hot roddings hard in canada lol!
Did a ton of these back in the 70's, just a 10 ton porta power, and almost the same setup as I used to align I Beams and radius rods.
Excellent vid. I've street performance restored 57 Fords and super cruise built a 59 bird but never had so much fun as building a prewar. As possible get a 4 post lift with jib crane at front corner, took all the pain out. Super cruiser 32 Essex 4 door (no wood), Ford 300 I6, 3 speed all synchro, 3:10 9" diff, AC, 4 runner power steering, F1 axle 4" drop with disk brakes, sway bars and panhard rods both ends. But unlike you youngsters I still like shiny paint, big swoopy fenders and quiet comfy interiors.
I like shiny paint too. I just can’t justify the cost of paint when I have no where to properly store cars. My cars get parked outside every night and the last car I owned with shiny paint was pretty rough looking after only 5 years. I’m with you on the interiors though. I have nice comfy interiors in all my cars
@@LGKustoms I and most of my car pals have big garages with attached house (and nice wives). Long may you run.
Good job on the improvement to the jig, sir.
Problem solving is what hot rodding is all about ! Great job, Lee.
Your Video is ------- BOTH ------ Entertaining and Educational -- a two for one --- can't beat that ------ you mentioned you like to give the King Pin just a few more degrees than what Henry did his at ---- seven ---------- It makes me wonder then ---- when one buys a dropped aftermarket axle ---- is it at the factory setting by Henry? --- Makes you wonder what you are getting -------------- The truck sits really nice to me now ---- about equal distance --- top of tire to the bottom of the fender --- front and rear ----------- I think if you are going to drop the rear down ------ I'm not sure of doing three inches ------ but -- if you did that -------- the front --- has to go down too ----- to me it wouldn't look good ------- We will leave it up to Wayne ----------- A good idea --- added to the Axle Bending Fixture ----- don't let the Combo Square get TOO hot from all that heat --- might grab it a say ---- S%*@ ------ Thanks for the Video ----- See Ya Soon ------- Rodney
Wayne decided to leave it as is. I think it looks good
just got my Shannon's comet T shirt, thanks guys!
Thanks for the support!
another win....I like it as it is!
I really like this truck.... great work. I love your videos
Thanks!
Lee , you’re not helping me with my hot rod addiction ! With everyone of your videos I want an “old” hot rod more ! Nice work as usual 👍🏻
I support this decision.
@@LGKustoms 🤣
Great engineering Lee!
Nice truck ,good work getting it lowered .
Awesome video watching from Massachusetts
Thanks for watching!
Love this channel.
I appreciate that!
I think Speedway sells a kit with the correct bearings.
Thanks for the info
He should put some 16 inch wheels on (f 5.50 b 7.50) and the stance will be perfect. Good work with the axle....greetings from germany
Agreed on the wheel and tire choice!
Just ordered 3 stickers Keep doing what you do!
Awesome! Appreciate the support!
Great job Lee....🙂
Thank you Lee! Another great video!
I love this old truck!! Wish you had kept the one you had a while back.
Me too. But to make the deal on the 32 happen I had to free up some cash, and shop space as well!
Thanks for sharing, always interesting!
Great video and very informative.
i dont have a30s hot rod but it fun 2 watch and i learned something thanks😎
Love Rose Bud 💐
Awesome job well done I like the axle bender super easy now. Well done Lee 🛠️🇨🇦🛠️🇨🇦
👍🏻 Love it!
The car looks great, and the video was excellent. Love the improvement on the drop axle jig.
Turned out awesome.
Looks great. Well done!
Love that rpu
Great video
Nice work Lee , another good job. Well done!!
Thanks 👍
Nice simple but elegant jig design for getting repeatable results.
Looks a lot better and you said it works great so what more can a person ask for. Nice work
Bravo! Good stuff.
The ride hight is just right. A rake is necessary for a street rod (in my humble opinion)..
Very clever problem solving. Looks great.😊
Thanks
Looks awesome, fixed the over all look of the truck. Seems that iron duke makes it pretty zippy power wise
It was faster than I expected. If it was mine, I’d probably have to swap out the automatic to a 5 speed though
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and techniques. You have a very easy going and down to earth approach and convey the facts well. The stance looks good as it is, dropped at the front with a slight take. Dropping it 3 inches in the back would make it look like a Gasser. Thanks again, best wishes from Australia 👍👍
Nice job 😎
Thank you! Cheers!
It looks great! I am glad you reclocked the steering wheel, it was driving me crazy on your road test.
You and me both!
Think the stance is spot on! I agree with you on the bias ply tires. I'm normally against fenders and running boards, but this little truck is damn near perfect.
Stance looks great. Keep it simple!
Did you hone out the interference fit of the inner wheel bearing to make them slide on better?
Also like your idea of using a combination square. Your using the K.I.S.S. method there (Keep It Simple Stupid) Lol.
36:27 I vote no, it looks good right where it is.
I like to leave the rear a little higher so when there's a load in the back it sits better without having that saggy rear end look.
I don’t think this truck does much hauling these days
Hello
Would you do a short video,on the dementions for the dropped axle jig. Thanks
The dimensions of my jig don’t really matter if you’re building your own. It just needs to be high enough for the bottle jack to fit underneath.
@@LGKustoms
Who taught your friend these dark arts, or is it something he figured out himself ? I always wondered how these were dropped.
Have you ever changed the caster?
What center caps are on your roadster?
nice job!
so it´s nice ! let it
in my opinion 28-29 fenders would look better than the 26-27 T. the 28-29 follow the contour of the tire and maybe make it look lower.
Do they swap easily and bolt on ?
@@xmo552 I have never done it but have seen others who have. My guess is you would need the front fender, splash aprons, running boards and rear fenders. check out some one's 28-29 and have a tape measure handy to see how they compare. it would be great if all you need is the front fenders.

I have a friend that builds and races T's. I'll see if I can remember to ask him.
The hot rod "rake" is it........
Hey Lee, Curious, will your jig drop an axle 5"? Been thinking about this idea for a 32 highboy I am building. Purchase a 47" I-beam 4" dropped axel and drop it another 1" to make a 46", 5" dropped I-beam. Your thoughts? Also, GREAT videos! Watch very one you put out.
I haven’t personally done it, but it’s definitely been done. Roadster Supply axles lend themselves well to this.
Dont touch it rakes perfect
Man, I love that Model T rpu!!! What engine/trans does it have?
Iron Duke four cylinder
@@LGKustomssweet! I’ve got a Chevy 153 in my little T roadster. Great little engines.
I would like to order the 47 ford shirt but it doesn't come in a 4xl ! Would that be something maybe for the future?
Hi, unfortunately the shipping costs for anything bigger than 2XL is outrageous because the weight bumps it up in to a different shipping category.
what year f100 front brakes do you have on the roadster pu.? I have 39 ford backing plates on my 29 chassis. I was told I need 39 to 47 hubs and drums .
I think these are 48-52 Ford F1. 39-41 and 42-48 hubs and drums work great too. The main difference is the 48-52 brakes are bendix style
need a set of 1939 to 47 drums and hubs. Where to get used,?
I watch marketplace and go to swap meets.
What size regulator and torch set are needed to apply the heat needed for the drop?
Sorry, but I have no idea what size it is. I didn’t realize there was different size regulators
@@LGKustoms I'm pretty sure there are, but like 75/25, so I could be wrong. My recollection was based on the needed capacity to feed the larger rosebuds. Maybe it's just torch body size. Thanks though.
I’d chop the windshield.
Me too!
Wouldn't it be safer to get a dropped axle rather then destroy the strength of the metal with out a slow cool down that makes it bridle
Original axles are forged. I’ve never heard of, or seen on ever break.
Aftermarket axles are cast, and they definitely break. I have one on display in my shop as an example. Do a quick google search on cast axles vs forged axles and you’ll see the amount of “new” axles that have broke
The ladies glasses while heat with the torch don't do you any favors.
Are you saying I’m wearing women’s glasses?
I like your channel better than iron trap because you stick to a project and try to get it done obviously you have paying customers he doesn't but he bounces around from project to project ive been watching matt for years but it gets old same ol same ol whats really pissing me off is i want to see Mike put his car together but he gets a 30 minute segment every three months he'll never have it together this year same with his dads 48 coupe dad still isnt driving it in three years now he's owned it mikes supposed to be his friend and business partner but his car dont get much attention he should be helping him finish the car since Mike started his car matts come up with project after project stupid who gives a shit project's whats wrong with working on mikes car
I’ve only watched a couple iron trap videos.
