    Ditch the silicon and use hot glue, it's easier clean up, to remove or replace with a couple of drops of Alcohol. It's also transparent.

    Excellent job, young man! That's a great deal on those wheels, and why I moved from California to Oregon when I retired, lower costs, beautiful outdoors, friendly people, and it seems to me more DIYers here who can get the job done right. My parents were farmers and ranchers before moving to California, my dad told me if you don't do it yourself it doesn't get done if you live out in the countryside. He made us kids learn how to DIY everything and do it right. One time with my uncle they built an oil drill pipe fence around my uncle's 2000-acre ranch, and it was all welded together, nothing was going to get through that fence. WWII vets were very tough men, he flew 52 missions in B17s, they lost 5000 men, and he lost one bother who was with Gen. Patton on D-Day. Take care, Mike.

    Hey Paul, I have been watching your model A videos for A couple of years now, .
    And so far I have not seen a video of you guys doing any cleaning or polishing up on any old or original paint .
    So I'm not sure what you use
    But my grandpa who was once upon a time a model A owner
    Told me to use. No.7. Polish.
    And he was absolutely right, it works amazing,
    I myself like to follow up the polishing with some turtle wax spray wax , don't forget to wear a good quality mask when polishing or waxing.

    Those wheels would be awesome triple chromed. Haven't seen that done for quite a while. If you drive them a lot, balance those tires. Unbalanced tires will cause problems in a short while. Not only premature wear on the tire but other parts of your car will be worn just from a slight little jiggle of an unbalanced tire. I've had it happen. Not a fan of black wheels on any car or truck but to each.

    • @ModelA

      Model A's don't go very fast, and most of the weight is in the wheel, so pretty different from modern tires. I'd agree with you on modern wheels. Hi Paul . When I saw that wheel , I thought, Paul is not telling the whole truth here!Haha. No need to balance ?Or did Schwab do it?I know they probably weren't from the factory.

    • @ModelA
      @ModelA  Год назад

      Nope. Their balancer won't do Model A wheels accurately. I don't balance them unless the car has overdrive

    Did you really sand those wheels completely down to bare metal by hand? And it looked like the 2 of you were working in direct sunlight? My hat's off to you. I'm not built for the heat. They look great!

      There was a joke in there, and the joke is on us. We had them sand blasted!! Working in the sun isn't so bad when you don't have a bunch of clothes on. Assuming there's a breeze.

      I've been President and held other offices in my local club, held offices and currently President of NCRG, and been very successful at organizing Model A events, and am currently bringing more new people into the Model A hobby than all the national organizations combined. My blood type is "Model A". But I can be doing more for the hobby and Model A people.

    Outstanding! Simple as that alkazoom! Is there a way to straighten the wheels! I would imagine you toe in is as only as good as your wheels. We are off in some cases 5/16" .WHAT SHOULD I DO TO REMIDY MY SITUATION. Thx Mr, Shinn .

    • @ModelA
      @ModelA  Год назад +2

      Straightening wheels that are just barely off is easy with wood blocks, hammer, and heat. If they are off by more than 1/16th, I take them to the wheel shop and let them do it with the hydraulics. Way better results!
