So Graham Norton is the risqué 'prequel' to The Graham Norton Show. So Graham Norton aired from 1998 - 2002 and encouraged guests to partake in a range of wild activities and candid conversation.
He's like a master violinist whose hand movements you can see but never duplicate. So even if you know how his tricks are done, they're still amazing to watch. Even if you know how a violinist makes music it doesn't stop you from listening.
Dude launched his entire career on the double lift
Bro dont say this on comment 😂
Its secret
Alot more slight of hand involved then just a double lift
Blaine had a similar rose to fame also!
Very clean one
Even his voice is hypnotic. I fall asleep every time.
It's such a welcome style to me compared with performers who use a lot of hype.
😂😂😂
he sounds like he is high on strong drugs :D
I never try to figure out David Blaine's magic, because it's just so much fun to believe.
He has the same powers as the flash. Thats why it seems so painful for him to talk, its like he's talking really really slow
I think some of Blaine's tricks/stunts are more impressive when you look into them.
Same here. I feel I may not enjoy the tricks as much if I knew how they were done.
That's a very good way to approach magic - just enjoy the feeling of wonder and surprise that you get.
Some of these earlier ones you can literally see him shifting cards around, the Conan one especially, he just got better over the years, now too fast for the cameras. I mean you do know that he is either hiding, relocating or counting cards.
Whats really amazing is the technique. So clean his movements, that even though i know how he is doing these, the execution is just perfect
how????
@@DaveDepilot-KFRG Two card lifts, pinky breaks, a whole load of other stuff. The snap change at the end is well executed as he knows where the camera is pointing so you can't see the other palmed (tenkai palm) card (except you can see it if you hit the pause button and know where to look).
he's actually not considered a great card mechanic. he's said it himself (i think) and other famous magicians have said it, while also giving him props for doing other things very well.
@@DaveDepilot-KFRG lifting 2 cards, not 1... That explains only half of tricks, tho. Not all
Explain how he pulls a card through a window after someone signs it and throws the entire deck at a window and their card is on the other side. I know it's an "illusion" but there is something different about Blaine, he uses actual magic. The dude is amazing at what he does.
He seems like a very talented magician with a successful future ahead of him.
This kid's goin' places.
I’m watching this from 2022 and he has the same personality. I wouldn’t have imagined how handsome he looked at this recording.
Ya Graham does look the part
This kid David Blain left magic shows, got fed up in 3months and became a plumber…to support his starving family🤭😭
Nah. This guy is a bum nobody will know who he is by 2000.
David Blaine's neatest trick is that he does not age.
huh? He's def aged. Watch the hot sauce video.
@@Pingaheimer Or watch his first appearance on Letterman, looks like a young Jeff Goldblum. (Sort of...)
sure about that?
check again
He has white hair now
David blaine took double lift into another level. 🔥
It's like a lesson on how the double lift with a little bit of story telling can be a number of tricks... while still only being one bit of slight of hand.
It’s his triple lift that still blows my mind
That 9 of spades trick was cool. That's the exact card I saw. The man is a master of his craft.
Me too. I had to look around for a moment 🤣
because he pauses at that card for a fraction of a second more so it's the only card your eyes can fully see and your brain can process...try to spot any other particular card..you can't...except the 9 of spades.
@8gjames could seem impossible to you...but people who practice sleight of hand for years and years can do it effortlessly
Basically one technique and so many performances done with it. Beautiful!
besides the _short_ 9 ❦ yes, we saw dbls & triples & also arrow switching ✰
@@TAROTAI the 9 of spades wasn’t the short card, it’s whichever card was in front of it that was the short one 😉
I've never seen David Blaine so shy in an interview
He’s a lot like this in the Oprah one too I think it’s part of the act it throws people off
It's part of his act David is a goofball in real life he is a perfect candidate for Class Clown but an awesome guy
This was from 1998 - before he developed a personality.
He's always got a flat affect. That's his style.....
No thats just him
Is this a show from the early 2000ers? The colores, the clothing of everyone including the audience, the set... its amazing
1998
@@edwardbennett3572 yeah.... I think so.... It lookslike that.... IDK I am surprised how I missed this show at that time...... Great show....
No, from 2019 it was filmed, before the pandemic
@@georgeallen846 what are you talking about? Is that a joke?
@@georgeallen846 It says from 1998
That ace of hearts and the 9 of spades blew my mind
when you've watched too many magic videos and you knew all the tricks 😅
But mr blaine is so good in doing it
yeah it almost becomes more impressive after knowing how theyre done. His dexterity with the cards is amazing.
@@loquatmuncher I agree..I know 'how'. but his speed !! Wow!
@William Xei riiight...
Yeah. His lifts are so smooth.
@William Xei I know what you mean..but I'd rather he did this than those endurance tests! And it's done with a sheer slickness that takes a lot of skill
I could watch him for hours.
3rd Ep and Graham was already in his groove, impressive.
The last trick from 6:10 was sorcery - I thought of that card!!!
:p
That was the only card that stayed long enough/at the right time for most people to see and remember when just seeing it once.
@@OLBastholm I had couple of thoughts, then finalised this - A❤ I think was the other one. Either way, it was a gamble if he attempted it that way.
Just curious: how many did not think about this card?
@@RamachandranS20 I promise you it wasn't as much of a gamble as you think. Most thought of 9 or spades, he made it that way. This is the 'mentalist' part of magic... I actually think he made that trick quite obvious if you understood what he was doing. As soon as he said choose a card as I quickly flash through this deck, I was like... oh...ok... got it! The 9 of spades stayed for quite a long time, if he did that trick now he wouldn't let the card stay up that long but it still would have registered enough for you to think you genuinely picked that card on your own. This is how GOOD fake psychics work, btw...
I'm guessing now, but it occurs to me that he prob left the 9 up longer to ensure everyone chose it since it would be hard to have a back up plan, considering the 9 placed under everyone's chair. In a more intimate setting he probably would be able to accommodate someone choosing another card other than the one he forced, by extending the trick somehow...
It's the last card in the deck that he shows for a longer time.
even i know how he does the tricks, the best part of it is people's reaction. love it.
The crazy thing about this last trick, I picked the Ace and then the second I picked the 9. The trick works even when your not there.
same!!
Early David was the best. That dead eye face gave him extra mysterious.
He's the best...only a few are as good as he is
Ok this genius has got me, he’s brilliant.
When the 9 of spades showed up I almost fell off my chair, because that was my card! 1998 must have been close to the start of Graham's show, and he's still the best.
Just after fr Ted
That was the least impressive trick to me tho, he showed the 9 of spades for longer than the others
@@insidiosity He didn't slow it down but that's what your eyes told you. The card in front of the 9 is slightly shorter so that 'space' appears for the 9 to show for a very small part of a second. The majority of humans see the 9 as they don't understand how fast their eyes and brain work together. Those of us who know this trick try to spot another card, and I caught a millisecond glimpse of a red ace, but it was too fast to say if it was diamonds or hearts.
they were all 9 of clubs 😂😂😂
Wow Graham is so young. I’ve never seen such an old episode of his show. Amazing.
That's called 'ambitious card'...and it's one of the tricks that helped make David Blaine a millionaire
Card tricks were awesome, and Honor Blackman looked great!
3:38 this girls reaction time is -2 seconds 😂
‘Girl’?
This was many years ago David is crazy skilled
Really wild that viewing this on youtube over a decade later even though you can definitely see more than one card I was also thinking of the *spoiler alert* 9 of spades
David Blaine wow !!!!!!
david is exceptional
For a person to be this good at what he does, which is magic sleight of hand, it would seem that he's almost bored because he knows the trick.
Around this time he was doing his ambitious card routine a lot so maybe I'm wrong, but it looked like he was trying to force on the first trick but missed it. You can see his pinky break right before he fanned them out and it looked like she grabbed the card next to his force and that's why he said "actually let's have her write her name"...I think it was a last-second change.
He is so demure and humbled❣️ PHENOMENAL!!! 🤯
This was filmed in 1998. He looked good back then. So he's not able to stop aging. That trick eludes him.
His sleight of hand is impeccable
Wow, I haven't seen Honor in years. Still the most beautiful Bond girl IMHO.
His ambitious card routine is the best!😂
Master of the "two cards routine".
Who ever made the title should get a raise.
This dude is amazing. Houdini is the inspiration.
The double lift is a powerful tool
if you have the persona it is . . .
I literally picked the Ace of Hearts. Crazy.
"literally"
lmao was thinking of the 9 of spades, this man is just too good
Hey Hui - even the *entire* audience had a 9 of Spades float on their heads - so _wo bude hwai shwo nimende hua_ but think about that & see quickly *_how_*
That's because it was the only card anyone could see.
Friggin' fricks! I "saw" the 9 of spades when he flipped them.
Blaine is the Michael Jordan of magic. No one even comes close.
I would say David Copperfield. He is super cinematic.
@@rubydiseno9406 Michael Jordan was cinematic then??
Ever hear of Jason Ladanye. His card skills are among the best in the world, check him out on RUclips.
What about penn and teller
@@michaeldevaney5728 lol
Never play poker with this Dude😅
Been watching him for years he’s the best.
03:27
Honor's reaction has to be every magician's dream response.
Rip honour blackman. She was great in upperhand
i know the secret of that type of magic and its practice, like stupid amounts of hours everyday. I met a magician once and he said he taught david one of his tricks, when he explained what it takes to get that good, amazing dedication to get that skill, like he spent 10 hours a day for a long time just to be able to shuffle in order a full deck in just a few seconds. I saw him do it and its not even a trick, he just has to put them in order a lot and the speed he did it, was almost as amazing as the tricks themselves. It looked like he was just checking the cards a couple times and then boom they were in order. im like WHAT??
I was on edge the whole video, I thought for sure he was gonna do the frog thing-
he has an amazing habilty to make false shuffles and double and tripple lifts
Norton was amazing on Father Ted
This is amazing, so amazing because it's such a old clip and I've literally never seen it before and I saw 9 card at the end and that's the one he picked. Freaking amazing 👏
It really is . . . when you don't have knowledge of the skill utilized - be free
Gee. I think you were the only one seeing the 9..
@@LeslieJayBoschPhoto everyone saw 9 because that's the card at which he slowed down deliberately
On the last one you can see just a tiny portion of the Ace of Hearts hiding behind the 9 of spades
blainey should do motivational speeches on tape that you listen to while driving.
He is a freak doing real stuff here
AMAZING tricks!
Fairly obvious plot twist: David Blaine is an actual sorcerer.
I'm just imagining Sheldon Cooper trying to figure this trick out
:P 5:37 to 5:38 on qtr speed you can see he picks up two cards then puts the them both down and picks up one ... gotta love RUclips :P
Thanks David Blaine we love your shows. I like the street ones more. The scientific ones scares me, your body is amazing(it keeps up with u )when u put it to all that strain. Good artist, amazing talent. 💖💖💖
yup! thats were he started!
Last trick with 9 of spades really shocked me!
Amazing and it looks fun
This was much longer than a year ago, Graham looks 20😂
He forcing cards, but he's doing it so well.
Watched this in 0.25 playback speed, still no clues
The 9 of spades one was fairly obvious, he paused the flicking at the end on the 9 of spades making it the most noticeable. As soon as he finished flicking after pausing slightly on the card I knew what card he would show.
He didn't slow it down but that's what your eyes told you. The card in front of the 9 is slightly shorter so that 'space' appears for the 9 to show for a very small part of a second. @@johnbird7357 Ah OK cool. He still used the trick to show the audience the 9 for longer than the others though.
Funny David Blaine says they have so much in common ,Graham Norton and David Blaine share the same birthday 4 April
Amazing
Only magician I have time for.
Check out Daniel Madison among many others :)
The 3 card monte trick he does is an all timer.. I practiced for hours… definitely not as smooth as him but all the trick I know that 3 card monte gets the best reaction every time
I think the minimum is 500 hours to fool a crowd. It helps if you bring the crowd in very close to where they are forced to look down instead of seeing it from the side.
That PC is all you need to age this video.
I got the last trick..
He have done it multiple times..
He keeps one Card for long time to see so that we can choose it ...
So everyone choose same card which we saw

He's damn good.
I just watched this and that last trick was amazing... I picked the 9 of spades.... WTF???? How did he do that one?
I picked the 2 of clubs, because the 9 of spades was too obvious. Just replay that part, and you'll notice he ends the fast shuffle with the 9 of spades and this card lasts a little bit longer visible than the other cards. Enough for most people to pick this card.
Because he forced it on you and most of us. FIrst he did it fast so you did not see any cards. Then he slowed it and slowed it again. OF course each time the 9 of spades was the last one you saw each time and it lingered more each time.

the Inquisitors will come looking for him soon.... RUN DAVID!
I acuatly saw the nine of spades. But damn him!!!
I know the ambitious card routine but when he did the flip change at the end he flashes the tenkai card.
what i love about DB is the reaction from the ppl he freaks out
"Cheez-Its! Cheez-Its! Cheez-Its!"
He should have brought up that piece sitting next to the old lady...
all i can see is GOB after watching Arrested Development XD
if you want to check.. locked in a cupboard.. just see ‘sixth sense’..
3:29 he actually folds two cards, not one.
Notice how he didn't fold the card enough to give it a visible crease. The card was always on top. He was just holding it flat with his left thumb and middle finger.
Yea it’s is super obvious that he shifted the folded bottom card to pretend signature card on another pile, while the folded signature card was always stay on top and he released the finger to pretend the jump ( leaving this comment for those who don’t understand the trick )
The 9 of spades is the only card everyone sees in the deck...
OMFG I also chose the 9 of spades
Chris Angel ain't half bad either but David Blaine is te best u can watch him flying in air levitating walking thru windows! Unbeleivable!
Whoa. Who's this now? Graham's younger brother? How many years could he possibly be???
How did he do the one where the bent card seemed to jump to the top?
I dig David Blaine but enjoyed seeing Honor Blackman more!
His sleight of hand is astounding!
I can't help but mention , the word is spelled sleight
